Why do people automatically assume local produce equals quality produce? What if the local producers aren't very good?

In all honesty, me, my missus an her son stayed in a lovely apartment ner the tower. It wasn't cheap but wasn't expensive. We go there at least once a year because it reminds us of being kids and having nothing and being cheap and cheerful and playing on Arcade amchines in Coral Island etc! We've had some cracking meals ib Blackpool and especially that part of Blackpool has some lovely eateries. I'd happily pay that for a good quality breakfast but I'd also have a Higgit's £1 burger too!

As an Aussie I looked at those prices and thought they were pretty good then I realised it was in pounds so I needed to double them. Still for a cafe located in a popular area like on the waterfront of a resort town those prices seemed to be fairly reasonable. If anything I thought that the teas and coffees rather than the food was a little bit on the expensive side. The produce on display didnt look like anything special but when they display produce and say its organic or grown locally people seem impressed and will accept paying more for it. The over ripe bananas or plantains I wouldnt eat the only thing I would do with them would be use them to make a banana cake. Bananas, mangos and other tropical fruits are a big industry here and usually available year round although prices for different types of produce can fluctuate with the seasons or during shortages created by weather events..Really enjoy watching your videos of the English beachside towns and the discussions you have with the locals the beach side culture is completely different to what we are used to in Australia. I have actually been to London a couple of times on business trips and unfortunately never had the chance to get out of the city we always planned to do a road trip through England, Scotland and Wales but so far we havent got there probably when we retire....

Plantains are less sweet, more starchy and have a rougher texture their best use is in cooking rather than eating them raw - give me a Cavendish banana any day especially before they get too ripe..When I was young we could buy a full bunch of green bananas directly from the planations in roadside stalls on the north coast of NSW for $2. You took them home hung them somewhere like a rafter in your shed or garage covered them so they they wouldnt ripen too quickly then picked them from the bottom up as they turned yellow.

The breakfast is a need and it will keep you constant and wont let you down unlike your electric car 🤣👍

Had to click, simply because I've never seen the words Posh, Pretentious and Blackpool in the same sentence before. I'm intrigued although to be fair you had me at Full English Breakfast.

Worth every penny. Great scores for an excellent meal and super service.
I do agree that a Cumberland should be coiled, like it always was until everything became homogenised.
And people coughing and sneezing everywhere. No handkerchiefs or tissues, think it's ok to cough down the neck of their T shirts. Puts you off eating in public.

Locally sourced ingredients, really. When they say that do they mean a quick dash to Iceland for the Hash browns. So where is the home made black pudding?

Curled sausages are caused by sleeping on the same side all the time.

The breakfast looked lovely to me although a bit stingy with the beans. Fresh produce or not, it would have benefitted from having tinned tomatoes too.
The price wasn't too bad but I'd probably only pop in here if it wasn't very busy because I'm not going to wait for ages get my food. That said, it looks a nice place.

Looking at it I would say it`s worth the extra over a spoons large breakfast so the price isn`t too bad for the extra quality, as someone who doesn`t drink fancy coffee I don`t have that extra to add on.
