That's probably the case. While I usually don't like notch displays on the phone and I'd rather prefer the punch hole display (usually positioned in the middle), the notches on both A24 and A34 actually doesn't look bad and I kinda like it. It's probably because of the shape of the notch. Compare the Infinity-V display (waterdrop/V-shape notch) of the A03s that I currently owned to both the A24 and A34, the Infinity-U display (U-shape notch) of the A24 and A34 does look significantly better than the A03s.
You are right! I chose the A54 over the A34 because of the ugly U notch. If it even had the sleeker V notch I may have chosen the A34 for it's bigger screen. That U notch was just too much in 2023. I think it's time to get rid of all of the notches, though. Even Apple is starting to abandon its notch on iPhones, for the large hole punch. Samsung needs to get with it.
Gonna be interesting to watch this, as I'm seriously considering the A54 as my next phone, given that it looks pretty much like a flagship in terms of hardware AND it has expandable storage, something I desperately need since my current phone is running out of storage. (My current phone is a Mi9T. Gonna miss the pop up camera, but tbh I've watched very few truly full-screen videos with it, and most of Android's UI put stuff at the top anyway)
You said the software is the same. 1:42 But, the A24 ships with the july security patch. On the other hand the A34 has an older version of linux kernel 4.19 vs 5.10 and 5.15 on A24 and A54 respectively. Wonder if that has something to do with mediatek.
I was shocked when I found out that my A24 was running Genshin better than the Note 10. It was fast. Saying A24 is less responsive is a gross understatement. From personal experience i didnt see difference between these... Id say A34 is better but A54 might feel like a downgrade at times. It does feel more premium but it aint worth the money tbh. just get the A34... In daily use the A24 was wonderful I was using 8gb version. It was doing better than the much stronger Note 10. I am not sure how your youtube and instagram are sticky... they are smooth asf here.
My take is that at the end of 2023/beginning of 2024, we need to drop the notches, 4 gigs of RAM, batteries below 5000 MAH, any charging below 25 watts, any chips that do not have 5g, and mono speakers on any phone above $100. It's time to move on.
Just paid for the the A54. Wish I got the A34 based on this review. I do like the A54's better camera performance though in reviews as I use social media user and I want to save memories in higher quality. Kind of disappointed in my purchase now as I'm a casual user.
As a causal person I was deciding on which one to get because my iPhone 7 plus broke. But since I'm poor 😂 I decided to get the a34 and I can confirm that it is a huge upgrade for me since I used the iPhone 7 plus. Everything from the screen, camaras, battery and performance are wayy better than the iPhone 7 plus, so I'm really happy I got this phone.
The A34 is a good option if you want to spend a few dollars but if you have the money go for the a54,I've had my a54 for a while now and I haven't had any problems + good camera & good battery
Slightly in some tests, but the A54 has a glass back, wifi 6, a better camera, and adaptive display which cuts down on battery usage. It's also a bit smaller, a plus for many with smaller hands.

I average around 10% an hour of screen on time at constant 120hz with location on and no power saving mode doing things like constant reels, twitter and RUclips playback. As of gaming I've only played a few, Fortnite gives 60 FPS locked on everything max and the heating is not bad but I would still suggest to game under a fan to keep the phones life extended. Games like clash of clans are a constant 120hz and I don't even feel it warming up in the slightest. If you're torn between the a34 and the a54, then I'd ask what is your usage going to be like. If you prefer better cameras and a hole punch cutout then the a54 is better, but if you prefer battery life and efficiency, constant 120hz and similar performance sometimes better because exynos heats and slows down like crazy then go for the a34

@@eurys18 yea I keep the 120hz on at all times, I've done some testing of my own and I've seen that I get about 25% better battery life if I bring it down to 60hz

I am using the Samsung galaxy note 10 plus. 4 years and still going strong. I only wish I went with the smaller size as I have small hands. Maybe I'll get the A24 for the headphone jack. But question, is the note 10 plus better than the a24? Maybe I should save up for the S23 instead 😅 sacrificing the headphone jack
My brother has the A54 and I have an A34 and a Z flip 5 and, over time the difference in processing becomes more obvious between the A54 and the A34. The exynos chip isn't the best out there but it has far better performance than the chip in the A34. Also camera-wise the A54 is better. But the z flip 5 has way better processing than both.
Its better to take the a34, the a54 may have a better but not by much and the battery life and speed is better on the a34. The a24's price point is a pulling factor for people who just need a decent phone for light usage and can't afford much. My dad had an a54 and it got stolen so we bought the a34 and after telling him to buy the a34 in the first place he agreed with me cause he now when he uses it it's a bit faster and has a better battery life. The a55 will probably be a good buy.
Hey, I have enjoyed your videos and have found them informative. I however, have had a 'journey' with phones...from having the latest and greatest...and with that expensive phone's. It fell into the toilet the day that my iphone was in the clear. In the clear being bought and paid for. Just as the phone's reached $1000.00 mark. Honestly, I could *not* bring myself to buying another iphone because of fearing I would drop it down the toilet again. So Off of that merry go round, I was and am. So, I went to the opposite side. I have had the "Moto G Pure" since February '23...and I already know you are not a fan of, Moto G and it's line. However, I still have that phone. Coming from iphone and ending at Moto G Pure was fine by me. I went from spending $900-$1000 on a phone to...$190 After tax on a phone that was not only cheap but it does the trick. Well, now we are to where I came across your videos...and as informative and helpful as they are....I thought that I found what I was looking for in your recommendation. The Samsung A34 is one you recommended and even it's spec's and performance I was sold on the "idea." I saved the $400 and was going to buy it...Then a few days passed....and a few day's more. Then I realized..."I have the money for the phone. The phone is available at BestBuy, right, now." This went on for about 3 week's. At the end of the 3 weeks...I sat down and really dived into, why I just had not gone to get this Samsung A34. Well, upon reflection. What do you use you phone for? Does your 'usage' really require a level of phone, like the 'Samsung A34' or all the way up to the Google Pixel 7 Pro...or...is it at my level. The most basic use, which only requires, a simple Moto G Pure. I know you are *not* a fan of Moto G's line...but it is a phone that is available. It is a 2023 smart phone that has dropped to 149.99 for what ever reason. It is a phone that work's. It means also that we all....have a choice. Moto G Pure is one of them. Thank's to this Moto G Pure...I am off the "latest and greatest phone!" merry go round, for Good!
Galaxy A54 has HDR screen, GG back, punch hole front cam, higher res telephoto cam etc over the A34. None of this matters of course, because the A55 and A35 are both out now 😂
Tried it and the older flagship's battery life wasn't good enough for me. I know I can get one with better battery life but it's going to be difficult to find one with battery life as good as the A54
@jelbin18 so I went ahead to buy the s20 plus. It's overall a better device than both the a34&a54. The Battery life is doing Okay since I only use it for IG and whatapp. The temperature is normal even when I use it while charging. I'm not a big fan of mobile game but it would run smoothly without overheating.
If you spend your own money to get a phone, get the A34, if your mom/Dad buys you the phone for free for you, get the A54. Never get the A24 unless you only use your phone for calls and some video watching
I want to buy this phone so bad! I have T-Mobile and want to know if the 5G bands will work. Because when I go online it says it supports 4G LTE. I know the phone is 5G capable, but will it work in the US?
I have talked to other's and have found similar experience's. My one friend stops at anything over $100 he stops and actually holds on from his purchase for a little while. I would absolutely love to see a mid range phone camera test and selfie camera test ❤ especially if it includes the mid range Samsung's and some of Motorola phones I bought a Motorola one zoom in 2020 after buying and returning the Samsung A53 because for some reason I wasn't a fan of how the selfie camera photos turned out on the A53, they looked overly processed/saturated. My one zoom is on its last leg and lately I've been finding the photos from my sister's Samsung to look better than I remember them looking in 2020 😂 but I also am so used to having a Motorola that part of me wants to stay with getting a new Motorola phone.....I'd love to see how the a54 camera compares I would love to upgrade to a higher end phone but I need a micro SD slot 😂 even though I pay for extra storage space for Google photos, I just love having my photos also backed up onto my SD card and because I take so so sooooooo many photos(I filled up my 256 GB SD card in under a year because I'm raising my niece and I take too many photos and videos lmao) I just can't imagine not having that sd slot and most higher end phones just dont have those anymore

Go for the S21 Fe because it has much better performance, display and camera. I'm currently using the A54 and the heating issue is quite concerning and I do notice some slow down.
@@justsyhmii I have had the A54 for around 2 weeks now and I haven’t had a heating issue once. I used the Good Guardian temperature app to check for heat and it has never been above the middle part. In simple words, it does not overheat at all. However, I do wear a thick case, so maybe that has something to do with it. But overall, there has been no overheating. What kind of apps do you use that causes it to heat up? I'm pretty medium user, some games and some light apps.
Tbh a34 is pretty nice honestly if you dont care about the looks its a great midrange phone, a54 is more abt, for the specs i feel like both are the same, cameras a lil better on a54 tho, but like, for me, its not worth it to buy a54 tbh

The a34 is such a good deal, i loved that they used the Dimensity processor. Only the notch looks out of date. I'm still tempted to grab one.

A54 looks much more premium compared to the rest especially with the hole punch design and glass back, thats pretty much why i bought it over a34

I think the best option is the A34, because it has a similar response as the A54 and it is also a few bucks cheaper
The sharpness and colours especially in game mode looked better on the a34 whereas the a54 looked a bit more muted and slightly hazy when compared.

Glass back means more prone to crack than Scratches since The A34 uses frosted finish anyways so scratches aren't visible

So, I went to the opposite side. I have had the "Moto G Pure" since February '23...and I already know you are not a fan of, Moto G and it's line. However, I still have that phone. Coming from iphone and ending at Moto G Pure was fine by me. I went from spending $900-$1000 on a phone to...$190 After tax on a phone that was not only cheap but it does the trick.
Well, now we are to where I came across your videos...and as informative and helpful as they are....I thought that I found what I was looking for in your recommendation. The Samsung A34 is one you recommended and even it's spec's and performance I was sold on the "idea."
I saved the $400 and was going to buy it...Then a few days passed....and a few day's more. Then I realized..."I have the money for the phone. The phone is available at BestBuy, right, now."
This went on for about 3 week's. At the end of the 3 weeks...I sat down and really dived into, why I just had not gone to get this Samsung A34.
Well, upon reflection. I know the truth...I have since February have had this phone for seven month's and honestly have only used it for, 'texting' and for saving saving thing's on my google search thingy....I've done phone call's and to be sincere that is it. I understood that I was hesitating spending $390.00 for the Samsung A34 here in Canada because...I would be spending that on a phone...that I was really using it, in its most minimal way.
Having the $400 I found that to me...I would not really be watching video's or playing games or finding creative way's to use up all the storage on my phone...I would just be, 'texting' and using my google search, or email...and that is all. So I was hesitating because of this...self knowledge. I knew unconsciously that I would only be using this phone for basic stuff and could not justify spending $400 to do ...what I am doing now. Texting, phoning and checking Mail.
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this...but, now I am left with. Being happy with my Moto G Pure, why? Because I use my phone for basic stuff...and I only spent $190.00 for it to do so, basic stuff. Funnier still, that Moto G Pure has a new regular price. It is down to $149.99.
my point? What do you use you phone for? Does your 'usage' really require a level of phone, like the 'Samsung A34' or all the way up to the Google Pixel 7 Pro...or...is it at my level. The most basic use, which only requires, a simple Moto G Pure.
I know you are *not* a fan of Moto G's line...but it is a phone that is available. It is a 2023 smart phone that has dropped to 149.99 for what ever reason. It is a phone that work's. It means also that we all....have a choice. Moto G Pure is one of them. Thank's to this Moto G Pure...I am off the "latest and greatest phone!"

Galaxy A54 has HDR screen, GG back, punch hole front cam, higher res telephoto cam etc over the A34. None of this matters of course, because the A55 and A35 are both out now 😂

Tried it and the older flagship's battery life wasn't good enough for me. I know I can get one with better battery life but it's going to be difficult to find one with battery life as good as the A54

@jelbin18 so I went ahead to buy the s20 plus. It's overall a better device than both the a34&a54. The Battery life is doing Okay since I only use it for IG and whatapp. The temperature is normal even when I use it while charging. I'm not a big fan of mobile game but it would run smoothly without overheating.

If you spend your own money to get a phone, get the A34, if your mom/Dad buys you the phone for free for you, get the A54. Never get the A24 unless you only use your phone for calls and some video watching

I want to buy this phone so bad! I have T-Mobile and want to know if the 5G bands will work. Because when I go online it says it supports 4G LTE. I know the phone is 5G capable, but will it work in the US?
I have talked to other's and have found similar experience's. My one friend stops at anything over $100 he stops and actually holds on from his purchase for a little while. "Do I really, want this..." he asks and pauses. Then he act's...but most often after a pause and sincere quest of the self. Do I really want to spend $100 on....

I got the s54 b4 seeing this video. So im stuck with it. And i like the camera hold better then the Other 2.
I would absolutely love to see a mid range phone camera test and selfie camera test ❤ especially if it includes the mid range Samsung's and some of Motorola phones
I bought a Motorola one zoom in 2020 after buying and returning the Samsung A53 because for some reason I wasn't a fan of how the selfie camera photos turned out on the A53, they looked overly processed/saturated. My one zoom is on its last leg and lately I've been finding the photos from my sister's Samsung to look better than I remember them looking in 2020 😂 but I also am so used to having a Motorola that part of me wants to stay with getting a new Motorola phone.....I'd love to see how the a54 camera compares
I would love to upgrade to a higher end phone but I need a micro SD slot 😂 even though I pay for extra storage space for Google photos, I just love having my photos also backed up onto my SD card and because I take so so sooooooo many photos(I filled up my 256 GB SD card in under a year because I'm raising my niece and I take too many photos and videos lmao) I just can't imagine not having that sd slot and most higher end phones just dont have those anymore

Go for the S21 Fe because it has much better performance, display and camera. I'm currently using the A54 and the heating issue is quite concerning and I do notice some slow down.
@@justsyhmii I have had the A54 for around 2 weeks now and I haven’t had a heating issue once. I used the Good Guardian temperature app to check for heat and it has never been above the middle part. In simple words, it does not overheat at all. However, I do wear a thick case, so maybe that has something to do with it. But overall, there has been no overheating.
What kind of apps do you use that causes it to heat up? I'm pretty medium user, some games and some light apps.

Tbh a34 is pretty nice honestly if you dont care about the looks its a great midrange phone, a54 is more abt, for the specs i feel like both are the same, cameras a lil better on a54 tho, but like, for me, its not worth it to buy a54 tbh
