this was a great vid. Thanks for posting. i have been thinking of trading my dirtbike for a banshee but what stopped me was that they are supposably hard to tune and my friends banshee has given him nothing but problems. now that i saw this vid i definitly understand how to tune them a bit more. thanks for the post!
We ride it for 4-5 hours a day when we go to Hidden Falls in Texas and have never rebuilt the motor. Changing the oil, cleaning the filter and performing regular maintenance and inspections can go a long way. The Banshee is a great ride.
Thanks this video save me 150 bucks and the trip to the shop my banshee was having the same problem by watching the video I fixed my self now has more power at the beginning when I press the gas it fly right away thanks for the video brother 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
very very helpful video. people should pay to watch it! well done. my banshee has never ran so good. I have needed to do this for awhile apparently. I didn't know what I was missing! well done
i have a Tors Delete from Motion Pro. both dots on the Slides do not stop at full throttle position but they pass the windows and go higher up. this will make it almost impossible. but i figured it out already why it is like that. the walls of these more or less bad quality caps are a little thinner in comparing to the OEM ones and a not further explained part is missing, because those tors delete kit caps actually do not need it to get it to work properly. but the result of this then is, that the slide springs are able to squeeze tighter and the dots will not lineup on window level anymore. but i've found a way around this issue, by adjusting this little speed limiter screw on the Master Cylinder. screw it in a couple of turns, so that the dot of at least one carb lines up with the window at full throttle position and start from there with syncing. after you're done, turn the speed limiter screw out, just like it was before. the best solotion still is a sync tool, but unfortunately i lost my or it was stolen. i def need to replace it fast as possible, bc it makes it lot easier and more accurate. espeacially to sync the idle.
+West Coast Roller lol been there done that. good tip. it's also really exciting if one of the caps comes unscrewed while you are riding and that side tries to go wide open on you!
hi i got a banshee in november and its been brilliant no problems what so ever until yesterday, i took it to a track (practice day) it started off ok despite how wet and muddy it was i got 1 lap round and as i just started second lap it just started reving up on its own and accelorating, i pulled in to pits had a look see if anything obvius, checked choke carbs seem to be sync ok checked air box it was a bit wet but nothing major still dryed it out....
Thanks, usually it's going to be one of two things... either the floats need to be adjusted (check manual for specs). Or your needle and seats need to be replaced. You can get a carb rebuild kit to take care of that from your local dealer.
@useranonguy a lot of times if it runs worse or cuts out when you pull the choke then you are too rich. Also make sure your choke tube is connected between the two carbs.
great video! i was having some problems with my banshee running uneven between the cylinders. at lower throttle range it will run more on the left cylinder. i can hear it buzzing away on the left but just a ting ta ting on the right one. i recently bought my banshee and just cleaned the carbs. ive noticed this uneven running problem and it also doesnt seem to pull as hard as it used to. could this be my problem? any help would greatly be appreciated!
You're best bet is to use gear case oil like Maxima or Bel Ray Gearsaver but 10w40 shouldn't really cause slippage. It all depends on how you ride and at what temps etc. overall though, most likely it's not the oil causing the slipping. You might need to check the wear on the plates and springs. Get a manual if you don't have one and check the specs for the springs, plates and fibers.
@@tealakota ah okay, so only the choke hole are connected to each other no other nipples, good to know, for some reason i thought the bowls overflow at the bottom were connected i have a hard time finding on google any info, and nobody seemed to reply to my question on facebook banshee pages... and stupid me got rdlc 350 carbs those 31k named, they should work but when its your first banshee and you just rebuild it, and you install carbs that didnt come from a banshee its not plug and play like i hoped.. there was a hole to fill (probably something for pressure for the fuel tank for the rdlc bike) also have 2 nipples on the engine side of the carbs that probably where for oil mixture that i connected together.
Part 2 ! put a Mark with a Black Sharpie in the front of the screw and put a small line on the top of the cap and you can Count On how many times you Turn the Screw to set it at the Same . When thats done you have adjusted the two carbs at the same Height !. SO hope this Little TIP WORKS FOR YOU ANd GOOD LUCK ..
Great video man. i just bought a 2002 banshe that has a few great mods but ima throw some others on there to make it alot better lol. but my buddy just rebuilt his and its 60 over and his carbs is just givin him alot of trouble its using to much gas when riding and wont idle worth a damn. but ima use this video and see what all we can do for it. he has the boxes ima try and get him to get rid of those and do it like yours but if you have anything you could tell me just send me a message thx.
You either need a new drain screw or o-ring, or you need to adjust your float level to correct specs, or you need a carb rebuild kit so you can replace your needle valve because that little rubber nipple in there is worn out.
Here's a Tip also if you don't have a little window on your carb The two screws on top the allows to sink them at the same height .. you want to screw the two screws all the way "down " and then looking at the two carbs from the back where you would see if there out of " Sink " see part Two sorry i could not fit all the Tip in the Box .
Inside the thumb throttle there's a safety button, and when the bike doesn't want to idle with the tors set up, that's usually a problem. Just unplug it
How do u adjust when your at full throttle and looking through the window. u didnt explain what to adjust the depth at handlebars or at the caps i am confused.
+Nick Stockert I adjust mine at the carb caps, if you adjust up at the handlebar it adjusts both carbs at the same time, you want to adjust just the one single carb. whichever slide is lifting first you need to loosen that one or tighten up the one that is lifting late.
Ive got a problem to i have a 88 banshee and when i fire it up the right side only fires but they both have spark and i found out that the left side is not sucking fuel in and i cleaned the carbs and looked at the jets and got new fuel lines and new plugs wires and when i ride it it seems like it is fireing on 2 but the left one is not smokeing i cant figure it out can you help me thanks alot
should the carb slide go all the way down leaving no gap? looks like your are up just a bit? not sure if you need a bit of air to hey on there? one of mine goes down tight sealing and the other one up just a bit. thx
....set off was ok again for maby 1minute then did it again so i pulled in checked again then set off was ok again for about 1minute then it revs up again and it keeps doing it. it does have the TORS boxes on carbs but i disconected it back in november when i got the bike. any ideas you can put my way???
You most likely have a fuel delivery problem. Not sure if it ran fine before or what but it could be leaning out because it's running out of fuel so it revs up which means you could very well have a clogged jet, probably idle circuit.
No the TORS are the big boxes that normally sit on top of the carbs. This one does not have TORS. If you are having to push start your bike you most likely have a jetting issue or really low compression. Check your compression first and then you might want to check your pilot jets and air/fuel screw.
nvm i got it after watching, can u tell if its out of sync without taking anything apart, you know by just hearing the engine?? because for some reason on my banshee one spark plug is cleaner than the other?? can someone help me please??
You loosen the lock nuts on top of the carb caps where the throttle cables enter the adjust each cable up or down until the ping marks move into the windows at the exact same time together as you push the throttle.
I g a banshee and just put in clean fuel, new sparkplugs, clean filter and cleaned out the carbs.... Now it runs perfect for the first 3-5 minutes and suddenly starts loosing power when the engine warms up. Sometimes the power comes back , but if so it directly looses it again.
+bram hulshoff have you done a compression check and leakdown test on it lately? These are two tests that will tell you if your motor is still in healthy shape or needs to be rebuilt. could also be an electrical issue with your CDI or coil.
hay a i got stock boots stockbox boost bottle, pipes and K an N was thinking about getting 30mm d slide carbs from carb parts w/h anyluck with them anyone
That video is just a short excerpt from the 2 hour video I did on the entire banshee. If you guys want a copy just send me a private message and I'll give you my paypal address for the $20. and then I'll send it out to you. I don't charge for shipping.
Put some new plugs in and see if it Kick starts! alot of the time that can be the issue... because its 2 stoke the plugs need to be changed about once a mouth!
Those Boost bottle are no good some one told me that they Dyno there banshee with it and with out it and with the boost bottle the lost power why that cross over tube is there was it was a Idea from Yamaha to use if for what they thought was a good idea it just for the carbs to self balance them selfs but the gas and to Vacum is not even strong enuff to pull Gas from one Carb to another So i just Plug the two holes OFF works better so try that out , good luck the the Banshee

Also make sure your carb tops are screwed down all the way! That can throw everything off too.

Hi, How do you center the pin marks ! Useful vid Pal !
hey ya i need help. i baught a conversian throtle but it has to have the T.O.R.S. electrical box, is it better to remover this box, if so how?
The bowls overflows are connected together right? At the bottom?
Overflows, no but there are nipples on the sides of each carb facing each other and you do connect those with a hose, this helps balance them out.
@@tealakota ah okay, so only the choke hole are connected to each other no other nipples, good to know, for some reason i thought the bowls overflow at the bottom were connected i have a hard time finding on google any info, and nobody seemed to reply to my question on facebook banshee pages...

They should always bottom out, the best way to tell is that you hear a nice clean clack when you let go of the throttle.
Great video dude!!!! We want more!
....set off was ok again for maby 1minute then did it again so i pulled in checked again then set off was ok again for about 1minute then it revs up again and it keeps doing it. it does have the TORS boxes on carbs but i disconected it back in november when i got the bike. any ideas you can put my way???
wow thats pretty awesome. I'm just not sure where to adjust it on my carbs
great vid. any idea y my carb wuld leak out of the bottom drain pipe when the fuel is turned on?
Float is stuck or out of adj
I have a quick question, my banshee keeps pumpin fuel out of the overflow tube I adjusted the floats but it's still doin it. Any suggestions?
You most likely have a fuel delivery problem. Not sure if it ran fine before or what but it could be leaning out because it's running out of fuel so it revs up which means you could very well have a clogged jet, probably idle circuit.
what should the idle screw be at
+Alex Garcia I adjust the idle with the motor running. it usually need to raise the slide just slightly. it will depend on your jetting.
No the TORS are the big boxes that normally sit on top of the carbs. This one does not have TORS. So I see that my carbs are out of synch how and where do I adjust the pings in the window
You loosen the lock nuts on top of the carb caps where the throttle cables enter the adjust each cable up or down until the ping marks move into the windows at the exact same time together as you push the throttle.
what does sync the carbs ???
what does it mean if my banshee is running rough and 1 of my carbs when i rev it up spits gas out where the air filter is
it have been cool if ud have showed us how to mess w the idle screw and mixture screws
would this be the same idea for a brute force 650 ?
do you know why my left spark plug is brown and my right one is black? im not sure on what to do :S
do bigger carbs really make a difference power wise like 35 mm?
What brand is your tors removal kit? Awesome banshee carb sync video Tealakota.
+jc18904 looks like a Motion Pro TORS delete kit
I g a banshee and just put in clean fuel, new sparkplugs, clean filter and cleaned out the carbs.... Now it runs perfect for the first 3-5 minutes and suddenly starts loosing power when the engine warms up. Sometimes the power comes back , but if so it directly looses it again.

TrailBlogger how to perform a leak down test?
i think your needles might need to be richer, and you should check your mains as well for each mod, 240 sounds small.. hope this helps
i was wondering is the video still available ?? really need some tips !! im trying to rebuild my engin , please help thanks
My banshee will idle for a few seconds then it'll go wide open how do I fix that?
hay a i got stock boots stockbox boost bottle, pipes and K an N was thinking about getting 30mm d slide carbs from carb parts w/h
anyluck with them anyone
That video is just a short excerpt from the 2 hour video I did on the entire banshee. If you guys want a copy just send me a private message and I'll give you my paypal address for the $20. and then I'll send it out to you. I don't charge for shipping.

Those are the stock carbs?
+Rare Vibezzz Yes looks like stock carbs but with the TORS removed using the Motion Pro TORS delete kit.
Thanks bro nice info never knew !!!
Put some new plugs in and see if it Kick starts! alot of the time that can be the issue... because its 2 stoke the plugs need to be changed about once a mouth!
thank 4 u ! you help me to fix this problem !
