ideally if u know your installed WAD caused the problem, it is best to uninstall it rather than to restore the NAND? (in the case that boot2 option available)
i got a console from a friend that full bricked it years ago by using region swapper and then they launched a game that installed an update off the disc causing it to full brick, anyone know if its possible to fix? its an original wii with gc ports
Thanks for the tutorial!, but one thing, If you go directly to the homebrew channel with preeloader and you desinstal the corrupted WAD, everything would be correct without the step of restoring your NAND, or not? I don´t know if that would work
i don't know why i didn't write any answer; anyway, if you manage to remove the corrupted WAD, if it hasn't modified the System files of your Wii, you don't need the NAND backup. In any case you can always try to do that first though. If that doesn't help, you have to proceed with the restore.
what if my Wii got bricked before I backed it up using bootie? will it still work? If you're wondering how I did that, my Wii isn't fully bricked just a system menu brick so I can bypass it by going to priiloader by holding reset when I power it on, and then go to home-brew to use bootmii. will the backup still work though if it's already been bricked?
I have a brick that just makes the screen black, i havent tried anything yet, but i do have priiloader and bootmii ios and a nand backup. When i launch the wii it goes to priiloader, but even then i cant see priiloader
A restoration of the wii after brick restores your backup, so at the time of the restoration you'll have the exact same "Wii" of when you made the backup, including data, game saves, etc. If, for "mii" you intend what "boot" you bring back at the moment of the restoration, it depens with which boot (1 or 2) you made the backup. As you can see in my video, the boot2 backup is 100% safe and works fine, but since 2008, new Wii models had blocked this function, so follow the video to see if you're able to use boot2 or you can only use boot1 for the backup, like me, which is also safe, but if you don't take care of placing the right files where they're needed, it will be really bad for you. A simple corrupted file will make your Wii completely useless, so watch out, follow my video's instructions and you'll be good. 🙂
@@venteopbr992 at 4:23 i showed that, in my wii, boot2 cannot be installed, only boot1, it's BootMii installer itself to clarify it, so if you wanna check just do as i did in the video, and if you have a very old Wii model, created before 2008, you should be able to install bootmii as boot2, i repeat, the safest version of it. Otherwise you can't do nothing but install it as boot1, still pretty safe, but not 100% recommendable.
ooh, well, think about it: did your wii get bricked by a corrupted wad? If the answer is yes you can remove the corrupted wad without using bootmii. Otherwise if you are looking forward to install bootmii in a bricked Wii, you must have AT LEAST Priiloader installed in it (which is also required for deleting corrupted wads) to install it, if you have Priiloader and your Wii is older that 2008 just follow my first video on this channel, otherwise you better install bootmii as boot2. If you didn't install priiloader and your wii is bricked, i'm sorry, but there's nothing you can do by yourself. At that point the only possible thing is to do some complicated stuff with programming codes that could maybe restore the Wii System, but you should have a good knowledge of those things to do it.

Thanks for the tutorial, nice that there is still a community that supports the console.
2:24 This image it's very important to understand why some Wii consoles can't run BootMii as boot2. Be sure to read that.

I have a 4.3U wii, I have to install boot2? 02:31
Whenever I try loading BootMii, the screen just says Loading binary... For a long time and the blue led of the Wii flashes, what can I do?

The system files are corrupted. Please refer to your Wii manual for help troubleshooting.

hey i need help i cant connect my wii remote for some reason and i cant do anything in hbc
You don't use your Wii remote dummy... you use the power buttons and reset/eject buttons...
Can I do this with an old nand
You can. I accidentally deleted IOS248 during a botched install attempt, and just restored my Wii using a backup of a NAND that was several days old.
When i restore my bricked wii what mii and game data are restoring
