I would say more of an overall part of the Disney company's strategy to bring more "Disney" into everything they do. Pretty much all the new background music everywhere over the past several years has been Disney music re-composed to fit the area its in (DHS is a really good example). Riviera's background music is quite fun, many of the songs are Disney movie songs recorded with the lyrics in French. Even Epcot's new firework show is going to be a "celebration of Disney music"
Disney doesn't have many Asia-Based films, so it was either this or that siamese cat song (Lady and the tramp).
This was a good call.
Not that I'm an authority on it, but that song doesn't stereotype Chinese people. It stereotypes Chinese cats.

Where’s the mulan ride
There going to run out of music for harmonious
It’s called promoting their new movie. Such coincidental timing, they’ve never played Mulan songs before?
I don't know. I think it is Mulan score music from the background music in China pavilion in Epcot at Walt Disney World in Florida.
