Paris SB's make these n***as catch seizures Foam game sh*tting on Irish Springs and Lever. Wale- what it look like Old song waaaay before Paris SBs caught on. 2012... stockx wasn't a thing. Wale deserves his sneaker head king title for his footwear bars here.
that bit from Jeff was the best take out of this episode. There were others but this was as much of a validation from an Insider than what editors or correspondences can report on.
Growing up in Jersey City … jumped on the path.. since the 5th grade. Paragon had the best Tennis Gear. Bought my Dunlop there circa 1993. And yes bought my roller blades too. Store was like 4-5 floors. Gigantic..Great workers who were mad helpful. Been in the shy for 23 years but always bigging up NYC Baby. 🙏🏻💪🏽
Amazing episode. Jeff Staple shared so much priceless knowledge. Love it! JLP, Brendan, and Matt are setting the bar higher and higher for the sneakers podcast game!
I've seen Jeff Staple on some things before but this was so entertaining, probably my favourite episode so far, I could listen to JS rap about the culture all day and he made me feel guilty for thinking Warren Lotus Dunks are fakes. I guess I missed the point. Who's next?!?
Great episode..very interesting guy, amazing life story,I respect him and his accomplishments even more after seeing how great his attitude is,plus were from the same Era so I totally understand his angle and importance to the culture
I grew up skating... always loved/love Airwalks. Soo pumped I own Staple Airwalk one. Own the staple airwalk jacket as well. I own too much airwalk. Glad Jeff Staple touched on em.
@complex yall need to fix the audio frfr... this is the only podcast that im not able to listen on Spotify at work because the sound of yall voices ain't loud enough especially when yall get a kinda shy guest.... I see yall have good mics but the sound guy could definitly do a better job.... anyways, #1 sneaker podcast in the game, keep it up 💯
58:30 the look on these guys' faces when Staple recommended getting someone on the show who's critical of nike corporations' questionable actions that got these guys the platform for their shows 😂
Those new balance 997 Aime Leon Dore was what started the new balance crave. I remember how I couldn’t believe how hard it was for me to cop that day .
I remember being in high school when all these dunk grails came out(class of 04). My friend would come over my house to use my computer to look at dunks.
You think the way I do. I never wear the shapes of the moment either or the "hot" kicks. I wanted New Balance 550 before release ages ago... they get quite popular and I decided to avoid em. Not to mention they kept selling out. I grabbed SI-18 Kswiss in Og red white and blue and later the Rowing Blazers collab. I totally won. I never see anyone in em. (I was watching The Fugitive 2 weeks ago... apparently Harrison Fords character was a fan of the SI-18 as well. )
I used to shop on Digital Gravel. Those were the good old days. Got plenty of shirts from there. They all gone now though :( But recently I replaced one thanks to eBay
Didn’t know the purple pigeon wasn’t his and and dunks being a retaliation at all the boost is crazy y’all been killing it with the guest recently who’s next teddy santis
Crazy that this episode comes on the day I went to Sneaker Politics in Dallas and some guy asks another guy what shirt he was wearing and it was a Staple shirt. Crazy!
I'm glad JLP is wearing something that you can actually find on Nike SNKRS (at least in Mexico, you can). Beautiful sneaker the AJ5 Low Clot, and the best, not reselling for so much.
It was my understanding that Nike bought something like 150 pairs of shoes from stockx via a undercover account. Most of the shoes they bought were the Patent Leather Jordan 1 Breds that released recently. Apparently out of those there were several that were fake. I dont know how much of a case that gives them but thats what read in an article about the whole thing.
Staple will never be required reading in art school. Hes not a real artist, he’s just a businessperson. The opposite of Dave Martinez from Dqm. Staple had one good idea, and has recycled it and found a way to make money off it for like 20 yrs. He talks about staple pidgeon as a logo like Ralph Lauren. The Ralph Lauren logo isn’t art. It’s commodity. That’s what staple aspires to.
And I can confirm as well for the Louis as well for here in LA they are giving clients who spend a large amount, a million is excessive maybe they get the absolute first dibs but again I know for a fact and say the text from a Louis rep to a girl I know for a fact who spent I’d say at least 100k at Louis within the last year
Alright, so I'll keep posting this on every episode in 2022 until eBay and Complex let overseas folks participate in the giveaway... If we can sell on eBay and pay fees, we should be able to participate.
2nd fave sneaker bars... I beatbox a n**ga like the music I’m thuggin’ in my Reebok, I never need Gucci- Kodak Black, Pimpin ain't easy. Kodak has plenty funny sneaker bars. And I mean plenty. He doesn't get enough respect for his confident sneaker bars
Hello it's the Martian, Space Jam Jordan - Lil Wayne 'song' Forever You heard L.O.X. came through in a yellow Lex and hopped out with the Air Force Ones with the yellow checks. - Jadakiss 'song' F You
Respectfully, I just don’t get the hype around the pigeon dunk. I’m not saying it’s a bad shoe, but I don’t get at all what sets it apart and gets to claim the title as “the 1” just cuz it has a pigeon on it lol. There are TONS of SB’s way better than that IMO.
Nike will never share the step-by-step areas they check for validation of authenticity. Because since they’re the architects in constructors of the shoes for them to give out the secret recipe of what’s authentic and what’s not because all the replica manufactures to make those same adjustments.

"Some days I'm in my Yeezys, some days I'm in my Vans"
"Ice Cream sneakers, I signed my first skater
So you can pay three and buy yourself some Bapestas"
I knew this was gonna be insightful, but didn't expect that "Art of War" move with using the Dunk to defeat the NMD 🤣 those kinda tales are priceless
that bit from Jeff was the best take out of this episode. There were others but this was as much of a validation from an Insider than what editors or correspondences can report on.
That's what I'm watching now. I was like "So that's the beginning of the sock shoe!"
We needed this! The one and only Jeff staple on the Coolest sneaker podcast that does really solid clear and entertaining deep dives!

Nike's response to Adidas Boost was the dunk. Do you think they're making the same mistake as adidas in over-releasing dunks?

So..retrospective of the NMD special episode?

hay guys love the vids !! u should have Mike Tyson on for an episode and gift him a pair of the pigeon dunks ? please ? cheers 🍻size US15 ? or 15.5 ?

That’s why he loves nfts. The perfect embodiment of commodity over art.
JLP didn’t like that spice girls question 😂 😂
Orthotics are the real deal fellas
Matt Welty the legend really brought a grapefruit soda to match with his sneakers 🤣 He'd never admit it but iykyk
i see you JLP! Shout out to Sarku Japan

This guy is cool
"What kind of package?" LOL
Highlight of the episode, watching the steam coming out of Matt Weltys ears while talking about NFTs 😂
I asked a similar question two episodes ago :(
I think Nike needs to retro the pigeons for the 25th anniversary of staple
Shoutout to Coventry Lake House 2005 great summer
Last dunk I was able to go get easily without jumping through hoops was the black pigeon
I got space jams on my feet I'm on the moon. I'm really lit so I don't gotta use no auto tune -Kodak Black "There he go"
Definitely do a mini doc on the NMD. The hottest shoe for 3 years.

If the Mars yard didn't have the hype(value) behind it they would sit at discount stores. I would never
very surprised Brendan didn't interject and say "reDUNKculous" @ 1:05:55. missed opportunity
