- Hi there,
Another Matx case, this time from Thermaltake. If this is the standard all their cases are then I've been missing a trick. Yes, this is my first case from them and I really like it.
Today, we take a look at the case, do a build and then finally I give my thoughts.

thank you sir i was bashing my head in trying to figure out how to take apart this contraption to replace the water cooler, your video saved me
You deserve more views mate, quality video and helped me with a few questions I had, good work keep it up
Cheers dude, video hasn't been up long, but you're right, I do ;)
Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to help answer them.
@@WayneWebbFilms Any estimate on how much the build was in total? I've just bought a Titan X Pascal and I wanted to do a similar type build
Here is a rough estimate, just depends on what changes you're after
CPU 350
Mobo 150
Ram 60-120 (depends whether 16/32gb)
Storage 100 (this would be for a 500gb SSD and 2tb HDD)
Cooler 120 (take your pick)
PSU 100 (prices are high atm)
Then there are fans etc
If you go Ryzen ie 3600 and a B550 mobo you can probably knock £150 off. Then it's just up to you as to what parts you want or good, better, best. My build was probably £1600 if going by new prices
@@WayneWebbFilms Haha what a coincidence I was looking at getting a Ryzen 5 3600 and a AsRock B550-M for my build
Also, sorry for all the questions, my GPU does not have an IO shield, is this a problem for mounting?

5:14 Motherboard
5:33 Fan
6:31 CPU
6:46 Hard Drive

Wow you weren't kidding, that's a very strange case! Great video
Yeah it's a fun one. If you have a look at the Cougar Conquer 2 case then that is strange ;)
I bought the white 'SNOW' version one. I love it : ) Though I used all 2.5" SSDs and not any SATA mechanicals with of course a 2TB M.2 on main board
I have an ATX, works?
Fantastic mate thanks for such a good thorough review that also didn't drag on at all! I reckon you've made up my mind about this one, cheers :)
Thank you so much for this, I'm looking up cases for my first build so this helps a lot :) Still a bit hesitant about a mATX and open cases in general (kinda scared of the noise) but I think I'm gonna cave in anyways, I love the pink version.
There is an ATX version AH T600 but no pink unfortunately uk.thermaltake.com/ah-t600-full-tower-chassis.html
@@WayneWebbFilms Unfortunately. But it's okay, I'll just adapt, pink is worth it :)
About to build this pc this black friday
Thanks, that was helpful. Many cases now seem to have minimal space for drives. Probably assuming one will mostly use M.2's. In my case I have 2 2.5" SSD's and a 3.5" HDD coming over from my old PC, so I was pleased to see it was able to hold 2 traditional hard drives. Though it may be time to upgrade my 4TB HDD to an SSD now that prices have dropped.
Great review! How did you find the noise levels compared to a similar system in a closed case? It looks like it would be a bit noiser at a given fan speed because it is open, but the fans shouldn't spool up as much, and hence be quieter, as inside the case doesn't get as warm under load because it is open. ie. the openness both hinders and helps with noise?
It's not something I measured, but a valid question. I did notice that my aio was ramping which was a little annoying, but that's down to a software issue having to use Armoury Crate. I think the best way would be to set a consistent fan curve ie around 50% where the noise is at an acceptable level. The GPU was a few degrees warmer than with the NZXT H400i I did last week, but the RX6800 is a warm card and performs best with good airflow, the front AIO inhibits any potential. Overall I would say it's about the same, you have less fans than a typical case but it's open...there wouldn't be a great deal in it
It would be nice if they'd manufacture this in a mid-tower case. At the moment, it appears you only have a choice between the micro and full ATX (T600 I think). My current build is in a full tower with a mATX mainboard. I'd like to go a bit smaller than the full tower on a new build but with a full ATX mainboard (due to the adds).
like the build, just ordered the white version on Amazon today. Only $99.
Awesome review, just wondering though, what do you think of the airflow overall compared to another case? Does it have good cooling potential?
I feel it is a bit of a gimmick case on reflection. Good cooling potential but normal airflow isn't a thing due to the open nature of things. Front mounting the AIO gives the CPU a good chance to stay cool and you could probably help things with fans in the top. Hope this helps
@@WayneWebbFilms Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate the information I think I might use this on my upcoming new PC
If only I could've waited for this case :c I got me a TT Versa J21 just added a Ryzen 3600 new mobo and ram to it... I saw the case in a local seller at a pretty decent price, I always wanted the Cougar Conquer but it's a little bit over my budget for a case, this one was a Wow... Guess I'll wait a few more years until I get a swap. The glass panels creep me out I just imagine myself breaking them so I had to view a build and review. Thanks for the Vid.
ya thinking of rebuilding my grandsons in this case just gotta figure what color . Also whats the height of this case. Thanks for the video it helped a lot.
DIMENSION (H X W X D)
444.2 x 282 x 551.5 mm
(17.5 x 11.1 x 21.7 inch)
Thank you!!!@@WayneWebbFilms
I usually like the stuff Thermaltake make but this one kind of looks off to me. The front kind of looks like a mix of a spaceship and a welding helmet. Also feels like it will be a dust magnet with all the openings, not to mention all the stuff that could fall in to the case.
Hello im going to build this case, can i ask? Because we can put the aio on top, so from what i reasearch they said if its front mounted so the tube will be better At the bottom, so can we put the tube at the bottom? Im using 3070 GPU btw, thankyouu
No aio at the top unfortunately, but you can add fans. Tubes down will depend on their length but you can always try
@@WayneWebbFilms can i ask if the fans both aio and fan on top are intake? Or?
The AIO fans are set to intake and the top fans are exhaust
@@WayneWebbFilms okay thankyouuuuuu so muchh 🥺🥰🙏🏻 youre the best!!
The chasis I have right now is the Phanteks Shift (and I ABSOLUTELY love it)... but the thermals are not great. Being a gaming pc with a pretty large GPU, and living in Northern California where summers reach 115 F, this is a problem.
But this case looks AMAZING. I came here to find out if that outer shell was also metal like I thought, so thanks for pointing that out when you gave your impressions!
Hope you Adapt metric soon
Just take off the side panel. Insta relief for your components. Let me know if it helped!
Good look, but loud like hell right ???
How did you manage to install the Cooling system to the frame?I have the same case and cooling system and the bolts are not long enough to catch on.
I’m referring to the front cooling system next to the front glass pane.
At 06:00
I vaguely remember the issue, it's been a while ;) have you tried without the washers ie with the bolts only? I have a partial memory of the trick to it is being able to find one screw that will take, in one or the 4 corners, and it then made it the rest easier. Hope this helps.
How did you mount the 3.5 inch hard drives?
Think there are sleds on the back. Slide them off, screw the drives onto them and slide them back on over the rubber grommets
From what I understand you should put your radiator intake /outtake on the bottom.
Hi, if you mean the tubes at the bottom...it's one of the ways to do it and if you have the tube length and it looks good, then go for it. Otherwise the tubes at the top is perfectly acceptable. The problem you have is when the pump is the highest point in the loop and air gets trapped inside. This won't happen in this case/situation, but appreciate your input.
@@WayneWebbFilms I hear you. I'm just going off EKs manual.
For this case would you recommend liquid cooling? Looks like a bit of a squeeze but I’m sure it would be doable.
I think it's AIO all the way tbh. They can only be put in the front btw
Will a 3090ti fe fit inside? If so will it have thermal issues because it’s so compact with other components?
I don't know tbh, I'd need to refer to the manufacturer website. When it comes to thermals, it's more about airflow than proximity to other components. I think that an FE card wouldn't do its best work in this kind of case, but I haven't tried so it's just an assumption.
@@WayneWebbFilms thank you for taking the time to respond I really appreciate your insight! 🍻
Excelente review, y Excelente setup
trying to build a vr pc for my girl with a pink case! thank you for the tutorial! are the two units on the back of your motherboard storage???
Hi, not seen the video for ages but I vaguely remember putting in a couple of 2tb drives for storage. I don't use them anymore but the fact the case supports them is very handy if you do.
When are they releasing mid tower version?
That is a very good question and one I have no answer for. They have the full tower version, in the form of the AH T600, but that comes with a big price tag!
what's the indicator right next to the reset button? on my case it blinks red :( and I'm worried. idk that much about pc
It that the HDD sensor? Cannot remember of the case has one or not
@@WayneWebbFilms thanks for replying me. idk :(. let's pretend it is. is that bad?
No, it would just be an activity light ie the hdd is being accessed
I want a case that has good airflow (something like a be quiet or coolermaster) but this one looks way better. can I customize it in a way where it won't generate much heat?
one more thing. is the msi b550 tomahawk motherboard compatible with this case?
Thanks
The case only supports itx and m-atx and I believe the Tomahawk is ATX, so won't fit unfortunately. Your choice of parts and any overclocks will really determine the heat produced. Airflow isn't a thing as such because it is partially open, but temps were fine from what I remember
@@WayneWebbFilms oh my gos I didn't think you'd actually answer after uploading this vid a year ago. Thanks a lot. I ended up going for the coolermaster td500 mesh but thanks for informing me.
Definitely earned this sub ;D
Can you explain the reason for no top mounted AIO?
There isn't enough space or clearance away from the motherboard. The top fans need to be mounted on top of the chassis and there isn't enough room up there for fans and a radiator. It's not a deal breaker to not have the aio top mounted but would have been nice
@@WayneWebbFilms thanks for the quick reply! i have an AIO and a 2070 super hybrid, so its a deal breaker in my case. It really is a shame.
You could always go for the larger AH T600
Its twice as expensive tho
Hi there
what would you say is the best overall PC case? in terms of aesthetic, performance, cooling, etc
thanks
That's the holy grail :)
Depends on what you like tbh. I really like the Fractal Design Define 7 Compact
Can this version fit a rog strix bf-450? I want to upgrade my pc case. Also is the cpu overheating at all?
It will accommodate ITX and M-ATX but not ATX boards. No over heating at all
Thank you for the video , however, 3.5 points for cable management is a lot .
On reflection it may be. Does depend on your PSU cables though
@@WayneWebbFilms I usually use Non Modular Power Supply and comes with extra cable attached , also i didn't like the way they designed for I/O shield . However, Thank you for the Video , You save me to purchase and return process .
That is very different. Reminds me of something from the early 2000's.
Having taken a look on the Thermaltake website, it seems they're a bit "out there" when it comes to designing cases. uk.thermaltake.com/products/chassis.html
Thank you for making me save my money.
LOL it's not that bad, but glad I could help
love the look of the case, shame it's only mATX
They do an ATX version...AH T600 uk.thermaltake.com/ah-t600-full-tower-chassis.html
Hey, I'm prolly your newbieST viewer ever, and have literally not clue on many things, but I bought this chasis and will be building my first pc ever any time soon, I have a question, I noticed you put something that seems to be a processor cooler at the front but then you put something similar at the top, and I couldn't find it listed (probably due to the fact I am a total ignorant of components at the time), can you help me with it?
Would you do me a favour and send me a screenshot of what you mean? WebbTechYT@gmail.com thanks Wayne
@@WayneWebbFilms sorry, not necessary anymore since I have learned they were air coolers. Anyway, now that I've got a motherboard (TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS WIFI) I am not sure where to connect those wires included with the case, I mean I was able to find where to connect the AAFP cable, but I am truly lost with the rest of the cables :c (and sorry again)
@@selfrespect2884 refer to your motherboard manual ;)
@@WayneWebbFilms I am afraid it is very technical and it is all in English (I'm still learning the language) but, ok, sorry for bothering, I will try again and see if I understand this time. Thank you.
This case is too small or you are too big?
that card is ATX but the chassis is micro atx ???
Hi, the case and motherboard are both micro ATX
@@WayneWebbFilms hello friend, what happens is that I bought that casing, but an order for an ATX card is coming, will it be that it is impossible for it to work for him???
:0
Hi, do you mean ATX Graphics Card? If so, you're fine. If ATX Motherboard then it may fit but you'd probably need an SFX PSU because an ATX PSU is more than likely going to get in the way
@@WayneWebbFilms I mistakenly bought that chassis thinking it was the ah600 and bought a gigabite b550 aorus pro ac ATX, do you think it will fit? thanks for your answer, one more sub (like)
How are you only at 500 subs wtf
It was a lot less :)
I've only been doing it for 5 months and the channel only started picking up about 2 months ago. Cannot complain really
Great looking case Lots of wasted space in between the Graphic Card and Power Brick. If I could adjust the Height of the Motherboard this would be Better... Another Radiator on top w fans would be Grand!
Yeah I agree, it's a bit limited as to what you can do, but I'm sure you could mod if you're into that.
I might actually take a drill to this and lower the Mother Board... I dont see the sandwich layout option like its elder Brother... This would make this case unbeatable... I might just wreck my Ghost just to mod it like so...
witch shampoo do you use ?
its just a joke man great video
I use an anti frizz shampoo, just hate curls ;)
Serious? Full size HDDs? In 2022?
There is always a place for full-size HDD, not for holding a Windows installation, but for backups etc. Also, this was filmed in 2021, they were all the rage back then ;)
papi
soy pasivo
Not for me......tooooooo much dust will get in to it
Rad upside down. Pump will suck air at the first moment possible... and system will FAIL!
so bad the case is not a ATX form
They do an ATX version ;)
