David's book *"Consequences: An Intelligence Officer's War"* tells the story of "an ordinary man with an extraordinary story". David Grantham, PhD, who served as a Special Agent for the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). A relatively secretive spy agency for the Air Force and Space Force, David takes us behind the scenes on how to join OSI and what that agency does in garrison and on the battlefield in Afghanistan and in one of the most infamous prisons in Iraq. From recruiting foreign sources in Kuwait to managing the force protection of Camp Bucca in southern Iraq, into how OSI carries out its counterintelligence mission against Al Qaeda in Iraq and against Iran. Then to Latin America to fight drug cartels from Venezuela to Mexico up to the U.S. southern border, David explains why Texas is a target of adversarial nation-states and associated Mexican cartels.

@@lyndonlonzanida maybe more explanation is fair. It's not what people think. I did it for several years and got feedback from agents that retired from it and came back as civilians. How many of these scenes did they steal from FLETC? This is ridiculous. I only know two people who cracked out cuffs and they're trying to play this as CSI. Worked with some amazing people, dealt with a ton of politics.
It can, since you get your FLETC cert, but you need to talk an agent who will be real with you about what you'll deal with. A lot of good, and some bad. You'll probably work with awesome peeps, but find yourself consoling with your besties at a bar on Friday bitching about your leadership.
Will this help me get into DEA because after four years of the Air Force will I have a good resume for the agency I wanna go to which is the DEA because in DEA I wanna do Norcatics in DEA
Wyatt Aiu you will have a TS Sec clearance so it does increase your chances but that is another agency and it’s up to their agenda and what you bring to the table at the end of the day
1.) I'd learn how to spell before trying to become a federal agent (Lol, just playing... sort of....) 2.) You won't be able to make it in OSI right away, typically they accept E5+ (though that's not an official policy) and it takes submitting a package and being selected. I would say most selectees are career Airman, not first-terms.
@@congestedgoblin2575 Perhaps they are changing it in that direction. The point to the OP though is they won't take someone out of boot to be CID/OSI/NCIS.

OSI is a solid military investigative service agency with a vital counterintelligence and counterterrorism mission.
