Yes, but this more Lee than Stuart. Lee's handling of the entire Gettysburg campaign was pathetic, not anywhere near what should be expected from a supposed "genius". Cheers!
@@kw19193 I have heard from more than one quarter that Lee's judgement may have been impaired because he was suffering from a bad case of sciatica, compounded by a mild stroke or heart attack.
@@Gwaithmir You neglected to mention diarrhea was also thrown out there (no pun intended) as a reason for his thoroughly slack leadership in that battle. Lee's fan-boys simply cannot accept that as an offensive general Lee was quite poor, as a defensive general somewhat more deserving of his reputation. Cheers!
Considering that he fought the entire war vastly outnumbered and with supply issues I'd say speaks to his leadership. Why the need to ridicule him?s@@kw19193
Actually very interesting about the event in Culpepper. During the reunification of Japan, the big badass of his day, Oda Nobunaga put together several cavalcades in Kyoto with the Emperor in attendance. I guess most cultures, in specific war time cultures love spectacles.
First off, you should have better graphics and real photos of the people involved. Secondly, the purpose of the large scale Union incursion into Culpeper County was to gather information on the location and size of the Confederate forces in that area. Amazingly, the Union forces found their Confederate adversaries resting at camp without either pickets or patrols. Pleasanton seized on this opportunity and would forever change the course of the war. Interestingly, neither Hooker or Meade were happy about this! They were more interested in the deployment of all Confederate forces in that area.
Have you ever heard about the use of dismounted cavalry. General John Buford of the Union army used it extensively at Brandy Station and on the first day at the battle of Gettysburg. Buford was considered a better cavalry general than Stewart, Pleasanton or Sheridan.
Caught the Southerners with their pants down, still couldn't close the deal. Just shy of double the yankee dead/missing/wounded vs. Confederate losses.
What a disappointment! Literally, the first 75% of the video is set-up. Then, the actual battle is described in less than 2.5 minutes, with absolutely no details given. A map might have been helpful for those who know little about the battle, but the generalities and half-baked conclusions ruined it for me. I won't even mention the graphics.
A.I. seems to be taking over. The graphics on this are nonsensical, the content adds nothing unique...it's as if someone just bought an AI service and had it create this video.
In one of the scenes, the Confederate commander seems to be wearing a policeman's hat, and there's an American flag--in the middle of a CONFEDERATE formation!!
At 1:31, what the heck are the creatures on the left side of the picture? Centaurs? Men and horses melting into each other? You can do better than the AI crap, really, it's not hard to find pictures of Civil War soldiers in the public domain.
Please spare us from these AI creations. It is cruel to listen to this voice. Even crueler are the images, some of which depict a different era or other armies (European). The AI obviously cannot create maps yet - perhaps that is for the better. The whole thing is military kitsch.

NO COFFEE! No wounder they were pissed
JEB Stuart really blew it at Gettysburg. General Lee really needed him.

These men were so young, but we old men criticize their character, my biggest lesson came to me because of my arrogance.
Thanks for acknowledging brother . -Combat vet

Maps would’ve been nice. Pictures relating to the battle would have been good.
Go there and walk the field and learn
@@AllenBashaar Why bother with videos, then? But you are. And this AI "art" is truly bad.
The battle was interesting and important in its own right, it doesn’t benefit from the bombast.
The union destroyed the myth of JEB Stuart’s invincibility even if the battle itself was something of a draw
Thank for this excellent video about the Battle of Brandy Station.....
Old F-4 pilot Shoe🇺🇸
Just about all of this presentation is wrong

Interesting video but the lack of maps made it very difficult to follow.
You'd have thought a story about J.E.B. Stuart would have had at least one picture of him........
The story wasn't about an arrogant Southern Gentry, it was about the battle of Brandy Station
@@AllenBashaar And obviously tailored towards the ignorant...........
He was so embarrassed by the battle that he refused to have his likeness appear in the video.
Who retreated from the field?
9:48 Those look like European soldiers, not Americans. Also, what is the man in the foreground sitting on?
a mule
Goofy AI art again.
Actually Stuart was still invincible. The Union surprised them but still didn't carry the field. Poor narrative.
there is no man in the foe rground , are you blind ?
Good info and I thank you for that but why so many infantry scenes in a cavalry story?

Here and there are some generated images of French horse troops. Never knew that the rebel leader Stuart had a Le Garde républicaine unit
Vive La France!!

One battle, Southerners were losers and always will be.
he lost and he lost to custer twice , custer closed the deal for him
@londolly Well...we all know how that turned out.

Glad someone else saw it, too. I was beginning to think I drank too much Brandy at the Station?
