This strategic victory could have altered the course of the young American nation.
Leading the American forces was Major General Andrew Jackson, a man whose fiery determination and indomitable spirit had earned him the nickname "Old Hickory." Jackson, already celebrated for his victories against Native American tribes in the Creek War, now fa...

I wrote a major paper on this war and the British Conquest of North America and I determined that it was a matter of who made the fewest mistakes. Wolfe was no genius, his Brigadiers hated him, Montcolme was the better commander but the mistakes added up to his end and the end of a French presence in North America.

Canada was first discovered by the Vikings ..but later again by the English in 1497 by John Cabot, there are existing historical records detailing his actual written account to King Henry VII in London, which proves this fact. Upon first discovering North America, Cabot explored the coast extensively around the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Newfoundland and as far south along the New England coast to Chesapeake Bay and beyond. The English initially focused their settlements in Newfoundland where they were amazed at the incredible wealth of fish and abundance of easily accessible lumber. Over the next 38 years word of the newly discovered lands no doubt eventually reached France being only 21 miles away across the English channel and in 1535, the french explorer Jacques Cartier sailed to North America to investigate and eventually established settlements in an area later to be named Quebec. The British knew they were there and eventually decided to clear them out ... there were 17 battles culminating in the battle Queenston Heights for Quebec City ... the French lost all of them.

Sorry but it was not the Swamp Rats that beat Cornwallis at Yorktown. A huge French fleet of 29 ships cut the British supply chain, and Isolated Yorktown, At the actual battle of Yorktown, French forces were 10,800 with heavy artillery, Americans 8,000. The British garrison was just 5,000 British and 3,000 Germans. It was a French victory, but it cost them dear, later the French fleet was defeated and the British captured the French Caribbean and the British took control of India (The Jewel in the Crown). The US did not repay French war loans leading directly to the French Revolution.

When you want to document historical events, you have to be careful in selecting supporting materials e.g. photos and drawings. In this video about Stalin, most of the photo-like drawings are very inaccurate. For example, I have never seen photos of Stalin wearing a uniform jacket with lapels and a tie. Likewise, his shoulder distinctions as a marshal are not correct. You also bring a photo-like drawing of Stalin together with his second wife Nadezhda Alliluyeva. Apart from the fact that the man on the picture does not look like Stalin, he never wore a military uniform until 1945 when he took the tittle generalissimo. Sorry for the negative comment, but historical documents should, as far as possible, use correct sources and materials. By the way, I have seen a photo of Stalin as a young man wearing suit and tie.

Just a thought. would it have made sense for the French to attack along the Baltic coast, they could be resupplied by sea and although they would have long train, their forces would have been able to defend along their line. Taking St Petersburg would have allowed the French to isolate Russia from her allies

Yes. Moskva had not been the capital for a 100 years in 1812, since Pyotr Aleksejevitj/ Pyotr Veliky built St Petersburg, and when Napoleon reached Moskva the Russians just had to wait until his supplies came to its end/ran out and he was forced to retreat. Russia didn´t need the control of Moskva to function. Some say that the reason Napoleon went to Moskva was that the aim of the invasion was to destroy the Russian army, and that he followed them, but if he had gone to the area o St Petersburg the main force of the Russian army would probably have gone theire as well.
