Netball was founded in the U.S. in 1895 as women's basketball. A few years later, it spreaded to the Commonwealth nations like Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, etc. and it became huge there as it is now.

Right!...the backboard assists with layups when youre driving into the paint more than when youre making shots. After youre passed a certain distance from the hoop,a shot aimed at the backboard would just bounce off the glass.

Like I said,Im not dogging the sport. But youre wrong if you think the backboard helps with shooting,its actually a bad idea to aim for the backboard. Also,i doubt any of you know the skill it takes to run around the court,dodging defenders,while dribbling the ball. yes our players are taller,but the the need for tall players is for Dunking,shot blocking,getting rebounds etc. It's actually more so the smaller players who are the better shooters in the NBA.
heaps of them have boyfriends/husbands. do you even know what you are talking about?? and there are quite a few countries in the world that play netball for your information
what? wait a minute,we dont "run" with the ball,we dribble it,which takes a hell of a lot more skill than just catching the ball and standing there. even with a backboard,basketball players are way better shooters than netball players. In netball you can shoot an uncontested shot at the hoop from 3 feet away and still miss! wtf,in basketball we sink shots from 30' away,on the move,with defenders in our face. im not doggin the sport but in comparison,Basketball>Netball.
@makpak yea! urgh i hate that. It sucks! But it shows that women are better than men, men need to do their sport full time and even then they arent always that good. Women can hold down a seperate job and still kick butt! Still, they need to fix that up, either cut mens pay or increase womens! i say half mens and give the other half to women.
