I really hope that Davenport stays healthy, with the Lions rolling their lines that should help him.
I’m more interested in seeing if James Houston was just a flash in the pan a couple years ago or the real deal pass rusher?

He’s a great 43 RDE. As in his skill set isn’t based only on rushing. Fans are obsessed with rush, but on the right side, the roles are completely different. He is going to be tasked with setting the right edge against the run and holding the outside when a QB breaks contain.
His numbers against the run are excellent. And teams only rush the passes on a handful of downs. So, even at a smaller tick, he will be effective.
Fans are just obsessed thinking a team is going to hurry the QB on 37 of 40 passes.
It doesn’t happen that way.
Dion ,when is SI or espn or even a major network be calling you ? Or a pro team for scouting .

Injuries are going to be the lions lynchpin. Depending on who gets injured , Lions be great or average . It’ll come down to coaching and motivation.
I don't understand why they picked him up? When their was better pass rusher out there.
Well, I think people underestimate or overlook what we’re gonna do with him. Most people use Davenport is their number one or number two Ed rusher he’s going to be in a rotation. He doesn’t need as many snaps.. wear and tear on body.

I'd still take Davenport over guys like chase young or clowney and even Yannick however you spell ngacway. I believe people think hes in his early 30s. He turns 28 in September. If he turns out to be anything you can give him a cheap 2 or 3 year contract and have a former first rounder dirt cheap making a real difference.
I know most people are obsessed with having to elite edge rushers, which would be nice but this regime has pretty much showed you they’re gonna do it by committee
