Yeah I’d definitely buy a house first before I spend that on a car. But good video. A lot of these people my age (22) need to learn that things will come in time. Definitely not worth the struggle until we all have career jobs!
im 24 about to finish my engineering degree but even then i know what you mean. My parents told me that when they bought a brand new tahoe, that they could’ve put a down payment on a house. so you’re speaking facts and i’m just acknowledging it.
100% true get your life balanced first. Live through it for a few years and see how well you can manage your life and savings. If everything is good and you can afford a scat pack for example without being drowned then go for it. For me my rule is if you’re going to finance then make sure you can in a worst case buy it in cash. So $200k car make sure you have $200k+ in the bank if you are putting $50k down for example. The down payment is excluded. I’m 22 as well. It’s important to live life smart and learn to invest while you are young because as you get older with the other responsibilities life will through it might be too complicated and you’ll just let the 401k do it’s thing. For example in crypto… there’s opportunities right now to make entire 401k portfolios within 10 years. Instead people would rather drop the money on a car now that’ll depreciate and they have regrets later.
@@brandonm5394 yes, but it also appreciates in value over time and is generally speaking a very stable investment. Not to mention you can live in it, cook, watch tv, do work, have kids, etc… A car not only breaks down, but depreciates in value heavily. The more miles the less valuable even though it’ll still depreciate unless it’s limited or special, which lol a scat is far from. When you get a house you can still work on saving money to then get a scat or a loan on one. If you just get a loan on a car then a bank can clearly see how dumb you are with your priorities. If you are able the least amount you should put down should be 20% but the more you put down the less your payments will be also make sure your credit is in good shape that way you get a good interest rate and more of your payments will go to the car ant not be ate up by interest. Also wanted to add that on average every thousand dollars you put down is 20 dollars or so off of your car note
Do what I did. You have 9k. Buy an older SRT in cash and throw a blower on it. Make 500whp and outrun all these newer cars. Buy a car in cash, and use the excess income you save to build up another $9,000. Use that excess income to buy a house or mods for your car. Either or. You have WAY more options when you don't have a car note.

After lookin at all the numbers on the scat pack, and even with a down payment of $5000 my monthly payments was still gonna be in the high $900s. Im like no way. So i ended up just trading for the 2020 GT model V6 with no money down and a monthly payment of $690. Definitely nothin like the V8 engine scat but still a pretty fast car. All in all i kept my $5000 down payment. Its a win for me
I"m proud of you owning a car like this, but I want people to know about what most dealerships do. They made your down payment disappear, your bottom line to be financed should be 51,895. They add all different types of fees like DOC fee, cleaning prep fee, taxes, processing and all the different types of fees they can add to eat up your down payment to make it disappear. Everyone should be aware of the tactics they use sell a cars. I just want you and others know what the dealerships do to the customers....You work hard for your money....
what I do is I try to get the car with no downpayment, as you are financing the 100% of the car, they cannot add some other fees that could make the car expensive. then after a year you put something to the principal. and refinance it
@@oscarc1075 I'm sorry man the tricks dealerships do to make money because we get so excited on getting the vehicle we take our mind off the numbers. I have a question do you work a lot out of the week or you just manage your money because I can easily afford a 800+ note but what do you do ??
Yeah man I work 50 hours a week and do work for the oilfield, I’ve refinanced since then tho
A house cost more than a car🤔
@@brandonm5394 yes, but it also appreciates in value over time and is generally speaking a very stable investment. Not to mention you can live in it, cook, watch tv, do work, have kids, etc…
A car not only breaks down, but depreciates in value heavily. The more miles the less valuable even though it’ll still depreciate unless it’s limited or special, which lol a scat is far from.
When you get a house you can still work on saving money to then get a scat or a loan on one. If you just get a loan on a car then a bank can clearly see how dumb you are with your priorities. It’s one thing to get a car to get from point a to point b. It’s another when you buy a scat pack to do the same thing and you need to finance it… get your priorities right man…
@@Yinyang1277 you pay on a house too Even more. You pay less for a car. And that's where you're wrong. You don't know anything about cars.

And you drive in a hail storm???
luckily when I got my 2021 Charger Scat Widebody back in September last year, Chrysler Capital was offering 0% for 72 months on approved credit. So yes, I completely agree that CREDIT IS KING. They didn't require downpayment due to my credit but I dropped $6k to lower the payments. I knew whatever payment I end up with, will be payment for the life of the loan because refinancing later will make me lose my 0% rate. My car came up to $62k after taxes then deducted $2k in rebates. I'm paying $760 a month, and thats including GAP.
Beautiful
62k? Sheeesh I swear hellcats base are 63k

@@rozegoldpharah1261 I wouldn't purchase a used hellcat and you must not be up to date with your prices if you think u can get a new hellcat for $60k
I'm glad you didn't get hit with a crazy markup.
