WOW ... that was great work ! you taught me alot ! I am one who will be making videos and dont know a thing but experts like yourself will allow us to build by seeing folks like yourself excellent video no music just expert craft !
Yes, it's a lot harder than it looks. The Kubota has a float setting in the front end loader that you can use to float over the aggregate, really helps with the leveling.
Really nice job. You did it methodically and a nice job of floating the loader. I see you have extra rock (crush-n-run) which is good. After the season changes or maybe a year or so, you'll see the wear and tear and know your high and low spots quite well. That extra rock will come in handy to patch things up. Nice video.
Gravel and haul bill is expensive and can’t afford to waste any rock. Looks good Question Did u lay plastic down under first? I’ve seen this done a lot lately
Excellent video demonstrating spreading and leveling the gravel. Float function on the loader really helps. Thanks for creating the video. How many tons did you spread?
Nice job! I purchased a Kubota BX 23 S last July, and it never ceases to amaze me how much work I can get done with it. Your video was excellent. Just a quick question if you don't mind. Were you using the float function when spreading, or always applying down pressure?
Do you by chance recall how much gravel that took? I have a similar up-coming project but a little hard to judge how much gravel it’ll take. Thanks and great job. Wish I was that good :)
You can but it depends on what model the only can I can find for my bx1870 are soft sides (wish I would have know that sooner) if you want a hard side go with a BX 2380
get a 5 ft length of chain link fence and fasten a pipe at each end, attach a chain or heavy rope from the ends of one pipe and then to tractor. put weight on the fence such as blocks, or tires, and drag it around leveling out your driveway or dirt lot
@@dynocompe I agree! I have a large sloped gravel driveway, and you wouldn't believe how much gravel the ground has absorbed over the 13 years that we have lived on the property. Glad I have my BX 23 S to box blade it on a regular basis.
next time let the truck spread the gravel, you are going to wear out the bottom of your bucket, very soon, if you continue to use it in that manner. the cutting edge, is replaceable, use it!
You did a great job with that gravel. Thanks for posting. The video was very helpful.
You made that look easy and all that in around 10 mins.
Good job excellent I have to see twice
Nice to finally see a Kubota BX video with somebody that knows how to operate it.

very good operator, this is not as easy as it looks with this machine
You make it look easy. Good work!

Can you get a cab for those Kubota subcompact tractors?
bert26a yes

The bxs with a backhoe are around $19k
after a year has gone by, how do I respread the gravel(by hand) that's already been there? right now it looks uneven and bumpy on some parts

Very nice. How much would you charge to do my driveway and where do you live.
Gravel? We call that 3/4 crushed rock here.

couldn't were out the bucket in a lifetime in graval. have a jd 990 spread over 1000 ton just wore the paint off the bottom
not bad for a woman...
it is easy! i can do that in 5 10 minutes.
Your full of crap! No way you could spread that much gravel with a tractor that size in 5-10 minutes!! Seriously!!
No offense, but I have a tractor nearly identical to his, and a gravel driveway much bigger than that. I know what I'm talking about.
