    The Casper Select mattress is a budget-friendly Casper option that is sold directly through Costco. This mattress is a 12″ foam mattress that uses poly foam, gel memory foam, and a support foam base.Performance on the Casper Select is good, albeit not incredible. It has good cooling performance, an extremely fast response time, and good edge support. It did struggle a bit with high levels of motion transfer, and good (but not great) levels of pressure relief.For sleepers on a tighter budget and prefer the all foam feel this could be a good option.

      Can you break down the sex category by positions? Obviously doggy style is going to affect the mattress differently than prone bone, or reverse cowgirl, since they each require different pressure points and surface areas on the mattress itself. Thank you

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@rip2889 While there are definitely differences between position, I think for the most part you'll see that the mattresses that scored better overall in our sex test are going to also be directionally better for any given position.
      There are very few exceptions.
      Ex. more bounce is always going to deliver better performance for just about every sex position
      If you and/or your partner are heavier then something like cowgirl and its variations will put more pressure on a single location on the mattress, in which case mattresses with greater overall support are going to perform better (if all other sex criteria is held equal).

    • @rip2889
      @rip2889 8 месяцев назад +1

      @NapLabReviews Indeed. Whilst it is reasonable to conclude the varying surface pressure points will differ in both psi and overall contact-point circumference (noting that the smaller the diameter, the greater the psi becomes, hence giving a greater 'trampoline effect'), there is however, no scenario I could envision one firmness configuration suiting certain positions, while being unable to accommodate others. For instance formations such as “missionary,” “cowgirl,” or “whose pussy is this?” can be done efficiently on all firmness settings depending solely on the lone variable of overall combined weight.

      have you tested the Casper Select Hybrid from Costco

    I’ve had this mattress now for about six months, and most of your observations are correct. This is not what I would call med/ firm but firm, and it does build heat as the night goes on. Not a bad mattress but Costco has a few others in the same price point I would buy first. We went and bought a 1.5” gel topper and that seems to of corrected most of our gripes. ✌🏼

      That's great that the topper was able to have that big of an impact.

    Any plans to review other Costco mattresses? I think a lot of folks would be really interested the Kirkland Stearns & Foster and the Simply Modern 12" Hybrid Gel Memory Foam bed.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  10 месяцев назад +1

      Definitely that's the plan. I'd like to do the Kirkland S&F, Sealy, Sleep Science, Novaform, Tempurpedic, and several other popular models from Costco.
      Given our current queue, it'll probably be late Q3 or Q4 before we're able to really start making a dent in those, but they are coming for sure.

    I bought this mattress to replace my Leesa original and though it was comfortable, I woke up sweating every night, I felt like I was sleeping on a heating pad!! i ended up returning it. I put my old Leesa back until I decide on something else

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  5 месяцев назад

      Sorry to hear about your experience.
      Unfortunately, it's not terribly surprising, as the foam quality of the Leesa is notably better than Casper Select (in my view and based on our testing), which is especially relevant when it comes to cooling.

    Seems odd to say that the mattress scored as "good not great" when it scored 9.28 out of 10? In any grading system that would be nearly perfect.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  3 месяца назад

      Our current scoring system has a fairly high average rating and high floor.
      Our worst review is an 8.62, average is a 9.50, best is a 9.95.
      A 9.28 that puts Casper Select at #173 out of 197 mattresses tested.

    No fiberglass issues when removing the cover?

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  9 месяцев назад +2

      Unfortunately, I don't recall whether or not the Casper Select uses fiberglass...and a quick Google search is got conflicting results.
      I'll see if I can locate the mattress legal tag and see what it says.

      @@NapLabReviews Thank you for your reply. My thinking is that it should sleep cooler than the all foam bed, provide more support, and last longer. Is my thinking in line with what you might expect?

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  Месяц назад

      @@encinosarah Yeah, that's usually a good assumption. Hybrids are typically better than all foam.
      That said, this is still a mattress using pretty cheap foams. I don't expect any cooling miracles.
      So it'll likely be cooler, but still problematically warm.

      @@NapLabReviews Didn't your review of the all foam Casper Select state that it excelled at cooling or was that the Casper Original all foam? Are Costco's versions really that different?

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  Месяц назад +2

      @@encinosarah You may be thinking of a different Casper we reviewed.
      Here's what I wrote about Casper Select:
      "Cooling performance on the Casper Select is good, but far from great. In our tests, I felt a slight to moderate level of heat retention around my body. The heat was notably building up around my back."
      Costco's versions are notable worse than the mattresses sold at Casper.com.
