It's simple for me anyway. Quit disbanding lobbies. Make maps that play better. Better rank play. Some type of progression. I mean I haven't cared about any progression with skins, camo or otherwise in awhile. I use the same gun with the same basic black camo and same operator that I have since the launch of vanguard. Also why does every gunfight feel different lobby to lobby. Fix this Garbo.
All of those changes would make way too much sense for them to actually do it

they care too much about warzone to ever think about doing something good for multiplayer. after the map quality and too many changes to ttk starting to ruin the games. warzone finished them off
Skill based match making killed multiplayer.. trust. Used to be fun dropping into random lobbies knowing you ain’t have to sweat every game. The maps have been horrible for years

@@shanegibbons7779 not saying a masterpiece but if you compare it to a game like vanguard it technically is. Wasn’t a masterpiece in its time tho. Also I think ghosts got a lot of hate at the time because of how good Bo2 was.
On thing I love about Ghost was Clan Wars when I was 13 I remember gaming week with the clans mate we all get on a party chat split the amount players per objectives. Good times also I was at my best at that time too I was 200th in the world in SnD & 800th in Blitz

I kinda disagree with the possibility of people losing interest. People played bo2/mw3/bo1/mw2 for YEARS after they were released still very interested in cod but the other games were shit. The only “loss” of interest was from having to play the same games for 5 years bc the others were so bad.
Every game is naturally going to have people lose interest over time, especially when games like ghosts and aw changed so much from the previous games
Even now I find myself playing bocw over vanguard because it’s that bad.

Im 27 and I started my fps life on cod2 and man that game is goated. Never played anything like that before and when cod 4 came it was over. I was 10 year old out gunning my brothers friends. Little did I know where cod was going to end
thanks Zooma for the words about AW. i myself who started playing COD way earlier didnt like it at first but damn did i love it at the end, so much that i would honestly say its the best COD ever made with BO2 and i couldnt decide which one i loved more. the movement once you mastered it was so fun ( if a COD does advanced movement again then do it like AW and not like BO3 / IW, BO3 was good but wouldve been way better without the AM ), the weapons were really good, the meta was healthy, the maps were really well designed and the game overall was just so fast paced and exciting. as he said, and there AW for me takes the crown over BO2, there was no more fun year to watch competitive COD then in AW. i watched every single event which i havent done before. i wish they would make a game like this again or atleast remaster it but i guess that wont happen soon. but yea as he said too, i get why casuals didnt like it. it was just something way to different for their liking, it had to much to learn ( because AW actually had a big skillgap ) and if you didnt do that it just felt bad for them getting shit on by people who did.

@@fortuna8789 pay to win what? pubs? lmao. in ranked at a certain level people had like a "gentlemans agreement" to not use variants, in comp they were forbidden anyway. btw, the magnitude asm1 was the best asm1 version itg yet public nubs complained about the speakeasy.

The reason why COD series is still going even though Activision treats the player base and the development studios like garbage is because there is no other game like COD. There is no other arcade shooter on the market like COD. They have such a brilliant idea/concept to work with yet they simply just don't care and churn out unfinished games plagued by skins which they call content and sbmm. It is honestly a shame
My uncle had call of duty 3 and I would sometimes play that. But when I got my Xbox and Cod4 I fell in love. Cod4 is and always will be my favorite call of duty!

another big reason for the downfall was after BO2, a bunch of developers and engineers left Infinity Ward and Treyarch. Some went to EA and other big gaming companies.

If ghosts released with hp and ctf with some better maps it wouldnt be considered the beggining of the end.
Jetpacks started some awful trends tho, ship maps, movement crutches, supply drops, specialists, sbmm.
The downfall is the year you stopped liking cod. Everyone is different. People in middle school now for instance must think the current cod game is the best cod ever while the older crowd might hate it. Ghost was the last PS/360 game it was the change to a new era. People that hated ghost probably started to hate AW
Ghosts is super underrated and overhated there was some bad stuff in it sure but so did BO2 and that game is beloved by everybody. If you want to attribute where the downfall starts it’s with SBMM, actually playable games (looking at you Vanguard), good ranked play, 3 lane maps and there’s a lot more. COD will get back to its glory days one day but for now it’s just sad that we’re at this point

Ghosts wasn't that bad when the dlc maps came out. Also the reason why people didn't like AW was because of how sledgehammer shoved supply drops in our face. Also the issue with AW was the variants of the weapons which you either grinded for a small percentage to even get, or you paid money to even get a better chance of getting that variant you want.

Call of duty 4 changed my 13 year old mind. It was amazing
Theory 4: The kids who were 12 in MW2 (noobs) became older, smarter and better at the game of Cod. As the games kept coming out new 12 years olds couldn’t get into the game with people already having years of experience with it. So they went to Fortnite/war zone/fall guys causing the player base to never grow and only stay the same or decline
For cod these are the things they need to do to make it better, Better weapon Balancing for one i want to come onto cod and have multiple guns to choose from to play with, to go with that they need a slower TTK. To go with that we NEED good maps its Quality over Quanity this is obvious with Cold War and Vangaurd there were 8 maps at the start of CW and most of them were good. There were 16 maps at the start of Vangaurd and there were like 5 good ones. Ranked play has to be better and have more mpas. And have a good ranking system that ranks you fairly. And it shouldnt have SBMM it should just put you against people that are roughly in the same rank as you. But when ranking you it should take into consideration your Kd, you accuarcy etc things that make you better. And it be enjoyable with multiple different modes. CW was so much more fun cus there were so many different game modes. Like prop hunt, Capture the flag, Dirty Bomb just to name a few that stayed through out the year. And then when they add a grind map for example in MW2019 and Vangaurd it was Ship to Shoot and Ship Haus. These modes should stay in the year all around and not leave. Nuketown left CW for a week at most so it could be fixed. And it is still in the game to this day. In MW2019 and VG they are in the game for 2 weeks then removed for a month. Also modes should be more fun SND etc to be more playable in Pubs Vangaurd SND in pubs was absolute wank. Cus half the maps were just awful and the TTK is just way to fast. SND in Ranked is so much better. Also make the Mansery cammos better aswell and more worth the grind. And make snipers more fun to use again, and make the ADS faster.

First issue was when Activision tried to screw over the original owners of Infinity Ward, They were the best studio but Activision got greedy. The two men left and started Respawn who created titanfall series and then Apex legends, you see the cod blueprint all over those games. While AW and MW2019 were good they were no where near the level of cod4, MW2, MW3, BO1, BO2, BO3. Treyarch has had a ton of turnover and has been on same Engine for years ( only updated ever 2 years ) but now will be on an IW engine? makes no sense to force a studio to use another studios Engine FOR THEIR GAME, but thats Activision. AW was ahead of its time and was hated by casuals but loved by grinders and Comp/GB players, Cod4 started it all, MW2 changed the game, B01/2/3 were all solid and MW3 was a classic. I always hope we are surprised one year with a instant classic again and with games going to 2 year life cycles we will have to wait and see when the next treyarch Cod comes out since IW wasnt given the extra year in advance ( that we know of ) Will always be a cod fan but it's been harder and harder to play the last 2/3 years

CoD4 and BO2 will foever be favorites and the reason why I fell in love with the franchise. Sadly it's been ass ever since BO2. Haven't played MP since maybe ghosts. At the moment only game I can play and have a blast win or lose, is Apex.

Still believe ghosts wasn’t an actual bad game, people just hated on it because it was after black ops 2 and people even hated that when it released. It’s just become a trend to hate ghosts. The only glaring issue in my eyes was the maps colors and details. Other than those, it was literally a modern warfare game with better graphics and customization. People act like kill times in mw2 and 3 weren’t crazy and the acr didn’t run it.
MW2019 is what started the trend of this absolute garbage of a game. AW and BO4 are GOAT games

It’s the mentality behind creating the games now, “protect casuals”- when did casuals even ask for anything? They don’t know how these changes affect anything, they just okay to play but the changes do affect good players. No dead silence and no dots and nerfing drop shotting or anything that requires to skill to balance a playing field nobody asked to be balanced. Maps that are trash and random so u can’t dictate the flow. Terrible maps and perks. Colour palettes are terrible now where campers just blend into the back ground. Aim assist just dropping randomly which never happened. Some sjw mentality to “protect” ppl who never asked for it, when I first started cod I got wrecked and never even knew I was getting wrecked I was just having fun. Cods trash now sadly
