I believe in annihilation not eternal conscious torment forever. Now annihilation doesn’t mean there’s no punishment it could be fast or slow it could be different for everyone. I think that’s another reason that turns people away from Christianity. I see more scripture for annihilation than eternal conscious torment when you look at the Greek and Hebrew. Hell is translated from 4 different words with different meanings. Gehenna is the main one. Jesus didn’t talk more about hell than anything. Jesus talked more about The Kingdom of God more than hell.

Literal principle- Scripture should be understood in its literal, natural and normal sense. 2. Historical principle- a passage should be interpreted in its historical context. 3. Grammatical principle- this task requires an understanding of the basic grammatical structure of each sentence in the original languages. 4. Synthetic principle- the analogia scriptura, meaning Scripture should be its own interpreter. 5. Clarity principle- clearer portion should be employed to interpret the less clear.
