I prefer Elvis tribute artists who add some originality to their performance as this gentleman did. Some artists try to mirror Elvis with every move Elvis ever did. No one can match the original and Elvis probably would have changed in time too. So I liked the so-called "Sphagetting outfit," as someone called it. Also, it would be cool to hear some songs that Elvis didn't record but might have in time. Just my opinion. Also, I do believe that Elvis did in fact perform with his glasses on a couple of times. I think I've seen footage of it.
You know I've seen Shawn Klush live twice with Cody Slaughter and I used to think they were the best at the era's they portrayed, but the more I watch and hear Bill Cherry he might actually be even better than Shawn Klush at the 70s era Elvis. He seems like he has a stronger voice in high range and even the tone just sounds closer to Elvis in my opinion. And since I wasn't born until 1979 these Eta's are the closest thing I can ever get to seeing Elvis in a live concert. Ofcourse I love all the videos of the real Elvis and no one will ever compare to him but for us that are too young to have ever got the chance to see Elvis, I'm glad these guys take it seriously enough to actually put on a show that atleast gives the impression of what it was like to see the real thing.
@@kevinmc4500 yeah I noticed that as well. This year at Elvis week the videos of Shawn I saw definitely weren't nearly as good as he used to be. I will say one thing though, Cody Slaughter seems like he's gotten even better than he was when I saw him a couple years ago. I'm wondering if he didn't feel slighted that Austin Butler is getting so much praise for the movie. Since the majority of the singing wasn't even his own voice and Cody has worked since he was a child playing Elvis, most definitely looks more like Elvis and sings everything himself. I'm assuming he wanted to show all the new fans who were in Memphis this year what it looks like when someone who's career is to play Elvis on stage what a real show is like without the Hollywood effects and the benefit of Elvis' vocals dubbed over the performance. That's just my opinion, obviously idk but to me it clearly looked like he was putting something extra in his performances that I hadn't seen before even though he was great then.
