    I love seeing how other sellers manage their business. While I don’t see myself ever doing this I appreciate you putting this out there for everyone to critique.
    When I first started selling I hit a wall when I was reaching like 80 item store. I was typing out everything I thought I needed on my iPhone notes 😂.
    I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, have a 600 item store. I use the sku/storage system bcuz I need to compact everything extremely nicely. I package all my items up after pictures as well so I can do the calculated shipping and forget about it 100% until it sells.
    The only con is the time it takes adding the sku, and unpackaging an item if you made an error you need to fix or someone asks a question and you need to open it. But if u take good pics it will rarely happen.

    2500 items? Narrowing down your sourcing to higher prices items makes life so much easier. I lower prices weekly by 5% so I don't accumulate dead inventory.
    This seems like a good inventory system other than my start dates always change because delisting and doing sell similar helps with the algorithm. I make sales almost immediately after that.
    I don't do anything except keep like items with other like items. With clothing I pre-bag them and put sku numbers on them. Then they are protected from moths and they are ready to ship.
    Whatever works for you though. Thanks for sharing.

    Dude, that's a terrible system where you have to sift through clothes by date of listing. The best system my friend is the simple number system. Every garment has a number from 1 to infinity.. You give every piece a number and you put the clothes in order from 1 to infinity. You don't need to make a video about that!

    • @cooperthereseller

      That adds an extra step 2 steps to the listing process, adding the # to the item and adding that number to your sku, slows down the listing process, I prefer the date based system for speed, I can list more items / hour this way, the more you list, the more $ you make 👍

      @cooperthereseller i agree about the more pics. But with 1000 plus items I get that maybe 10 times as I provide a minimum of 4 measurements in the pics. How do you keep up with delisting and selling similar? Does it go into a new date or the same date it first started? Also how do you deal with heavy sweaters that stretch at the hanger?

    I could be wrong but I dont think Tek uses this system. Im pretty sure he hangs his stuff with other simliar items using a color scheme. Older stuff always going in the back. Thats how i have been doing it and I thought I was copying Tek. So if i sell four sweaters I just go to that section and grab them all one time instead of having to go all around looking for stuff.

    I do the Daily refinement thing with bags and boxes. On the boxes I have a dry erase label where I can put the starting number and the starting date for that number.
    On your date system, do you do the "Sell Similar" stunt to relist listing and freshen them up? If so, that is going to wreck a dating system, which is why I use both.
    I had an issue yesterday where the SKU didn't end up in List Perfectly and I had to look. I knew by the date the appx SKU number and was able to find it.
    Also, doesn't your system create a lot of dead space above and below? How many Items are we looking at? I'm at about 500 and have 3 shelf units with 15 boxes each in a small room 15x10

    • @cooperthereseller
      @cooperthereseller  22 дня назад +1

      I have around 2300+ items listed and another 100+ in a draft bank, I don't do end listing and sell similar, if I did I would copy the start date and paste that in the sku of the new listing, the racks and shelves expand and shrink throughout the year as stuff gets added and sold, racks expand and shrink more naturally so not a lot of dead space, the shelves have more dead space if I don't move any of the dates around, but that's an option if I want to, you do gotta make sure you have the right amount of space for your total items 👍

      Yes you can, just copy the date started and enter it in the sku for the new listing, it would be tedious if you are doing a ton of listings at a time though

    That system doesn't work at all if you end and sell similar. Which everyone with long-tail items should be doing. Unless you're then going in and then adding the original start date to the custom sku. Which is clunky. It takes 3 seconds to type a sku into the custom sku and slap a sticker on a package. And i bet i can pull a pair of jeans ten times faster than you can. AND, your storage system takes up so much space and the clothes are hanging out in the open picking up air born dust and mold spores and odors.

      I'm not a believer in the end and sell similar method, I'd rather spend that time sourcing better items that sell thru faster :) also I'm lucky to have a basement in my house to store everything and I keep it clean down there so I don't run into any of those problems you have mentioned, I have sold thousands of items over the years with no problems, but at the end of the day you got to do what's best for you and your setup :)

    This is definitely not the best way to do it. The "Daily Refinement" system is best. Bag in a reusable zip-loc bag, number with a sku, and file sequentially in long boxes stored on shelves. This will increase your storage capacity 2-4 times from what you are currently doing.

      Depends what you are going for, if you are going for the most efficient use of space, you are correct, if you are going for the most speed, I think this way is faster, you just gotta pick what's best for you and your situation!

      @@cooperthereseller I think the way you are doing it has to be way slower. It takes 10 seconds to label with a SKU. It has to take at least that much time to put it on and take it off a hanger and put it on a rack. Also, it must be slower to pick when you have to look through 10 or 20 or 50 items (whatever you listed on a particular day) to find the one that has sold. And your inventory is spread out over a much larger area so there is the added time of the simple distance you have to walk, which could really add up if don't have your orders ordered by listing date and you are going back and forth. Also, when you go to process the orders, you are going to be slowed down by not having them labeled and neatly folded and ready to slip into a polybag or box. Yeah, the way you are doing it is WAY slower.

    Why would anybody need to ever put a sku on your items? Just number the bins, put that bin number in your eBay listing sku and on the google sheet with all of the stuff youve bought. Not a problem.

      A lot of people wrap their items in poly bags so they need the SKU to know for sure which poly bag is the item

    Bag the items after photos, keeps out dust, odors or pest, file items numerically in boxes. Hanging items like that is terrible. Items need bags before photos anyways. Customer's complain if an item is dusty, they will try it on and get itchy, Tech's system is awful.

    • @cooperthereseller
      @cooperthereseller  21 день назад

      I've shipped thousands of items with no complaints about dust, tech has shipped way more than me with no problems as well, but it doesn't hurt to store stuff in bags either, especially if the area you store your stuff in gets super dusty/dirty really quick

    WORKS GREAT FOR JUST CLOTHES IF U HAVE A HUGE BASMENT .....i sell everything ,,,and uf u sell anything and everything ....do the box system .. great use of them PO boxes ....jesus

      @cooperthereseller  22 дня назад

      True this system would be harder for everything sellers as opposed to clothing sellers, and yeah I ordered way too many PO boxes back in the day and never used a lot of them so I tried to recycle them the best I could 🙏

    Don't like it much. I sell a lot of hard goods and it would take up to much space.

      That's totally fair, this system def works better with clothes as opposed to hard goods, thanks for watching :)
