      depends kasi sayo.. what do you count as a "baller" season for AdU? kung barely making final 4 nanaman ang barometer mo.. baller nga.. (DLSU UP NU or maybe UST ang tingin ko).. pero losing those key players.. Ronzone twins being a$$.. highkey Bolero talaga e

  • @CarloRago

    Hi Nico! Thanks for joining this webcast. Hope to watch you here again in the future.
    I agree with Gab that DLSU is a Bolero for the offseason 87 (and a Baller for offseason 88). Their biggest subtraction in the line-up was Nelle and so far, their point guards have not not performed to that level. At least, there is some possibility that Konov can replace the production of Policarpio. DLSU won a number of championships in the off-season but in those leagues, they were not able to play vs. UP, who is their main competitor in the UAAP. And when they faced UP in PInoyliga, they lost twice. One of the comments was that Philips and David were not able to play in the finals; but they played in the first game, and DLSU was beaten soundly by UP. In the upcoming season, UP will be focusing all their attention in stopping KQ; so someone in the DLSU will have to step up.
    I also agree with Sam that the Ronzone twins are Boleros. They have not lived up to the hype. The same goes for Ramiro of DLSU and Femi Edu of Ateneo. As for the other Fil Foreigners who arrived late in the off-season, we have not seen much of them to give a proper assessment.

    • @coffeeandglitters
      @coffeeandglitters Месяц назад

      Curious as to why Femi Edu ? He played 1 or 2 games lang limited minutes but has been excellent naman.

    • @CarloRago
      @CarloRago Месяц назад +1

      @@coffeeandglitters: Ateneo played against inferior teams yet he could not dominate. He is not as tall as his brother and he plays the wing so Tab prefers to field the incumbents over him. In fact, I don't think he played vs. UE in the Taiwan finals.

    • @n8Bb
      @n8Bb Месяц назад +1

      As per reports, QMB was performing really well for UP against the European teams so that is a good sign.

    • @CarloRago
      @CarloRago Месяц назад +3

      @@n8Bb: Frankly, even though QMB is not as goood as he is hyped as to be, I am not too worried of the center slot for UP. Ududu, Alter, and Stevens proved during the pre-season that they have ably replaced Diouf. As in the case for all positions, Coach Cold will simply play the one who is best performing for that particular game. JD and Lopez will be the only constants. That is the advantage of having 16 equally skilled players.

    People are forgetting DLSU are the defending champs, they will find a way trust the process.
    Y'all were quick to dismiss dlsu after a 3-3 start hahaha yet they became champs parin.
    Dlsu also lost twice to UP last preseason.
    Finding a nelle replacement will be near impossible in a such short time. But topex is well aware of this so they will find ways

    Gab kept on saying La Salle lost to Up twice but their team was missing the services of Mike Phillips and Joshua David. And during the finals against Up in Filoil, Topex was more interested in testing combinations than getting the championship

    Hope yung mga players na may special talent like Pablo, Belmonte and other guys mentioned mapunta sa other schools na needed sila so they can showcase their talent like ex Pablo for instance, he can go to Adamson at least magagamit sya dun para tumaas stocks nya in time before sya mag pro. magkakaroon pa ng mas mas magandang competition sa liga ndi man nila maging kapantay ang UP talent wise. Sayang playing yrs naka upo ka lang sa bench or worse team B. I would love to see him playing along side Manzano having major minutes than playing backups to multiple staring center for UP.

    • @bolerosph
      @bolerosph  Месяц назад +1

      Good point. Agree kami pero sadly hindi ganyan ang reality. Alam natin yung “benefits” na natatanggap ng mga players to join teams like La Salle or UP. Though to be fair, marami rin team B or bench players na napupunta Adamson. Eli Ramos and Montebon were both bench guys or supposedly guys that were not gonna get playing time in Ateneo which is why they chose Adamson instead. Sama mo na si Competente fron FEU/UST.

    @beegdl907 Месяц назад

    I agree with Nico. This FEU team is looking good. Can’t wait to see them this S87. The new guys with the new coach 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
    With UP, I believe they are hungrier now after two heartbreaks in S85&86. You can see on how these guys play that they want s87. Definitely, there are things they still need to work on, but I agree with Gab, it’s championship or bust for UP.
    However, we cannot discount the fact that DLSU is also a great team! KQ is always one of the most admirable player. UP and DLSU will definitely go head to head for this season. Can’t wait for this season to start.

    Ballers:
    FEU - Great balance of talent and system. Coach Sean really made FEU really good. Ganda ng system nya, good balance between playing according to strengths and systematic concepts like triangle and other principles.
    UP - Another great recruiting class, Malick's loss might hurt a bit pero with QMB arriving, and solid showings by Alter and Udodo, I think their frontline is solved. Now with JD the undisputed leader, Expect UP to be the top dog in the UAAP.
    DLSU - Champs at D-League, PinoyLiga, WUBS, 2nd at FilOil, 2nd at Davao by beating 2 PBA Teams. I hope KQ pass more and be smarter at his shot selection, and I hope KQ stays for one more year and play with the likes of KB, Jacob, Pablo, and Mason. But right now, I expect major step ups from Abadam, Gollena, Macalalag, and solid rookie seasons from Rubico, Konov, Doy, and Vhoris and hoping that Ramiro will be a capable PG to fill Nelle's shoes.
    Lingolingo - I think Remogat's departure opened the door for Wello to be a major key player for UE and I love his shooting form.
    Boleros:
    ADMU - 0 Wins at both FilOil and PinoyLiga + Mason and other key guys departed for various reasons. ADMU's preseason is turbulent to say the least. At least right now, they figure out things by changing their offense. This season for the Blue Eagles will be tough but I hope they find a way.
    SJ Moore - I don't know what is going on with this guy, he's a highly touted HS standout from the NCAA, now he could spend another season as a benchwarmer. Kaya isip isip na SJ, do something that is best for your career.
    Adamson - This team is an absolute Bolero. Losing a chance to get 1 of 4 Players from the championship team of Adamson Jrs for sure tasted bad for them. Di din nakatulong na Sabandal foregoing his final playing year to focus on his recovery on his ACL injury. They have decent players and rookies but just like Ateneo, expect Adamson to have a very rough season 87.

      @@henrymiller5464 The past two seasons they're the faves but when it's the finals they turn themselves into the LA Clippers, they tend to self implode. They tend to choke, now with the talent they have, many expect them to win, and understandably so, if they lose that's 3 straight finals losses after winning the title in S84.

    • @Alfredo-ww8od
      @Alfredo-ww8od Месяц назад +1

      You obviously didnt watch most of the AdU preseason games dud aside from pinoyliga and filoil. On those two cup coach Nash fielded most of the team b and just focused on system plays and team chemistry. Honestly, with what I’m seeing on how AdU plays rn I think AdU’s current team is better than last season. No loss aside from Jerom (he sat out most of the games anyway) and the rest are upgrades. Players to watch: Anabo, Erolon, Fransman

    • @pesiganfrancisluisd.1461
      @pesiganfrancisluisd.1461 Месяц назад

      @@Alfredo-ww8od I've actually followed AdU closely, and while I agree that Coach Nash has been focusing on system plays and chemistry, I don't think this year's team is necessarily stronger. Jerom's leadership and playmaking were crucial last season, and his absence, even if he sat out some games, will be felt. As for the rest, yes, there are promising players like Anabo and Erolon, but they still need to prove themselves in real competition. Chemistry is important, but replacing key players isn't always as seamless as it seems. Didn't help also that Joem Sabandal, the next in line leader of Adamson, foregoes S87 because of an injury. Well, Adamson is still a good strong team, but akin lang to, mas lumakas talaga FEU, UST, Even UE strengthen their squads. I hope the Falcons the best, but right now being realistic, it's going to be a rough season for you guys there. Sorry but I'm just speaking the truth.
