Sometimes there will be none sailing guests on the ship. A few years ago I got a married on a carnival ship we half of our wedding guests didn’t go on the cruise with us. They were given special “day” passes to attend the wedding, reception, and to eat but 30 minutes before we were set to sail out of Miami they all had to disembark the ship.

Seriously? I had no clue that was a thing, that’s super cool!!! Thank you for letting me know.

Yep. If someone were getting actually kicked off the ship for something, they wouldn't announce it overhead but instead just escort them off via security. Most likely a day pass thing of some kind. Sometimes media are allowed on for the day as well.

Embarkation day is just nuts, no matter the ship, but the big ships are even worse. The very LAST place I'd consider for lunch getting on is the buffet or Guy's unless I was one of the first people walking on and went there right away. We tend to try to find less popular or known about places to eat and hang out that first day and to be honest, watch most of sail away from our own balcony. I just can't take the insane crowds. By the evening everyone distributes themselves though and it all chills out.

If I didn't want to follow my " Tradition " of always eating Guy's as my first meal, I would do the same! We were luckily able to get on the ship pretty quick with FTTF, but it did seem like there were A LOT of people on the ship early.
