In 2007 and 2008, Time Magazine named Paul Allen one of the hundred most influential people in the world. His impact has been felt in science, technology, business, medicine, sports, music, and philanthropy. His passion, curiosity, and intellectual rigor, combined with the resources to launch and support new initiatives, have literally changed the world.
In 2009 Allen discovered that he had lymphoma, lending urgency to his desire to share his story for the first time. In this long-awaited memoir titled "Idea Man", Allen explains how he has solved problems, what he's learned from his many endeavors, both the triumphs and the failures, and his compelling vision for the future. He reflects candidly on an extraordinary life. The book also features previously untold stories about everything from the true origins of Microsoft to Allen's role in the dawn of private space travel (with SpaceShipOne) and in discoveries at the frontiers of brain science.
Paul Allen co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates. He is the chairman of Vulcan Inc. and founder of the Allen Institute for Brain Science. He also owns the Seattle Seahawks and the Portland Trail Blazers and is co-owner of the Seattle Sounders pro soccer team.
Enjoy this glimpse into Paul Allen's life and work, with the award-winning multimedia journalist, Jose Antonio Vargas.
I actually think Jose did a good job. Ofcourse he was a bit nervous, but he also was very well prepared, knew very well what he was talking about (except the Wars/Trek mixup) and what he wanted to ask. He also listened well to the answers; had a sincere interest in Paul's story, and used Paul's answers in later stages of the interview.
His face is unsettling tho
The greatest visionary ever is Paul Allen
Paul Allen is truly the quintessential example
of a " Renaissance Man "

The world lost a great man.
Mr. Allan seems like a real person and if with others of the same is a compasionate man, yes?
Life is just to love and to be Loved 💘 Love alone can Conquer the World.
Love your shirt underneath your jacket
he has the money, he has the ideas, he like to invests in new boundaries such as in space traveling. hopefully he see that there are a lot of things to see and explore under the sea water and come up with a big scale commercial underwater submarines for future vacationers.
Not how sadly
Business success is all about timing, paul Allen is all about right time right place. They aren't smart people really.
I loved that conversation :)
The interviewer asks a lot of really good questions.
The greatest visionary ever is Paul Allen
yes. and you?
did he say star wars movie? at 0:39:39... uh that would be Star Trek :P
Do you like Huey Lewis and The News?......
"like, like, like, like..." Very inarticulate for a published writer.
It's more of a comment on the Pulitzer committee than Vargas himself.
Do you have a problem with that?
He probably thinks their ok I guess.
The interviewer makes this unwatchable. Such a shame.
Yeah the interviewer is such a waste of a penis
the interviewer is exhausting. I don't like him. Properly not so intelligent as Paul :D
Why is holy hell basic dead as a dodo now ?????? It clearly made Microsoft right ?!?
They don't like you either.

What you wrote is offensive, hateful, and ignorant, and not 'nice'. Whether you realize it or not.
