Hi Champ,
A bit off topic. I had a 2018 S3 just looking at changing it for a 7.5 golf R. I have to say I felt the s3 was quicker a bit snappier. I’m now thinking I shouldn’t have sold it! How did you find the two?
Cheers
@@ThunderMk2 1 yr later and still no reply
🤣🤣🤣
the mechanic is such a calm and nice person he was happy to see the r32 love him
Thanks
Jack Wasley Great Mechanic mate.I have learnt some great stuff from the vid mate. Thanks 👍🏽

@@Joutenshi my r32 doesnt always unlock on the fob but sounds like it has.....always locks though.....any ideas
@@BMW_NUT running now mate, just needs mapping really! Im fighting with myself weather I should pay somebody to do it for me or take the long road and invest in myself and do it myself ha.
I love seeing knowledgeable enthusiasts. I could chat all day with these lads.
Glad you enjoyed the video 🙌🏼

Very informative. Have owned mine for 10 years now and apart from the perishables, haven’t had too many issues. Surprisingly good around the twisties with a decent coilover set up. I’ve also updated the ARBs to H&R which makes a massive difference with the thicker rear. No more understeer. Never feel fast because the power delivery is so linear but 0-60 in 6 and keeps pulling all the way to 155, you really don’t need anymore on UK roads. The sound speaks for itself and they still turn heads 15 years on. They’ll never stick a VR6 in a Golf again. I’ve never added up my 10 year fuel bill though 😄
Definitely has got me hooked after a week of ownership, something about driving around with a 3.2 in a Golf is just cool to me
You know y it doesn't really have many issues with the car
Because it's a Volkswagen
Weve had ours even longer and still love it. Its had quite an easy life and not needed any big jobs done.....so far! I think that shape still looks great due to the clean lines. The sound it makes will soon be gone i to history, so we should enjoy it while it lasts. I dont find the fuel too bad . Maybe because i drive an r36 and the wife uses the golf. The passat is thirstier. The engines seem pretty strong. Dont want to say bulletproof, just in case....
What about the rust?
Had a 2007 R32 from new for 7 years without issue too, shouldn’t have sold it either. RSQ3 now so I’m sort of happy still, love the things..
That's pretty damn clean, great to see an enthusiast and down to earth mechanic at a main dealer, too
Thanks man, appreciate it.
Those guys at VW are brilliant. Just what the company needs more on digital platforms
That mechanic could make his own yt channel, very knowledgeable cool guy
Thankyou! I'm hoping to get something out soon.
he has a normal one for a car mechanic... at least here in Switzerland you have to study for 4 Years to be allowed to call yourself a Car mechanic (Automobilmechatroniker)
@@HCD488 Switzerland does some things better than us. In the UK a bin collector (no offense to bin collectors) can call himself a waste management Engineer. We have no protection for professional titles except doctor and nurse.
@@davidwalden444 I wasn't really sure of what point he was trying to make, I did four years of education and in still doing endless training every year attaining every qualification j can get my hands on and im still convinced I need to know more 😂
Jack Wasley where are you based mate?
Great video with such a humble & genuine super informative honest down to earth tech guy, intrigued to see how this R32 journey turns out, keep up the good work all x
Thanks for the kind words!
the mechanic is a legend whatta great knowledgable and kind guy
Thanks, really appreciate the kind words

@@HJCars all taken on board, ill see what I can come up with.
3:07 that guy cracks me up man 😂😂
I remember jack, he used to work at pole position uk with the Subaru's. I did a week's work experience with him years ago. Good bloke who knows his stuff.
That's me mate!
13:10 someone’s gassed 😂
🤣
Loved this mate. Nice to see the inside knowledge of a pro technician. Looking forward to seeing the future development of this car!!
Thankyou, appreciate the kind comment.
Plenty to come mate! thank you
I would love to take this guy to help me buy a used car lol! He knows his stuff
Recently subscribed to your channel after watching your polo gti review, I bought mine as a result. Great content mate keep it up.
Glad to hear mate! Thank you
This is the kind of mechanic I would like to have working on my 230km MK5 GTi, very knowledgeable
Well all need a jack in ours lives owning a mk5😂
😂
I feel like I need to offer some sort of rental service for my time 😂
Jack Wasley agree mate!
Lol I actually know a jack with a mk5 R32 😂
Jack would be far better off working for r tech!! Seriously get him there!
Had one for 10 years from new. One of those Rich guys 🤣 not..... Loved the sound of them, and never had any major issues in the 10 years. Eventually sold as it was sat on drive not doing many miles and cost 500+ a year in tax. It had the leather recaro'ss in which I loved and suited the car well in my opinion.
Really enjoy the vids with Jack. Can learn a lot
Thankyou!
Loving the content of the R32 and thumbs up on the VW mechanic Jack.
Very knowledgeable about these cars.
Glad you're enjoying the content!
Keep up the good work lad banging vids🔥🔥
Plenty to come!
Good to see Jack is doing well still :) what a legend
Thabkyou for the kind words!
This is awesome! I bought my first MKV R32 last friday in Tornado Red as well, #4474 in US. Looking forward to seeing this evolution and learning along the way. Taking mine to a service shop this week to see how it is, hopefully I get as much good news as you did! I'm most likely going to try and keep mine as much OE as I can.
Tbh mines on 10700 had it 7 months. Had the mk4 before, which tbh is a nice looking motor, buts it’s years behind the ride comfort and handling of the mk5.
Chains are not a problem as long as you do oil in them once a year . Mine has had oil changed once a year since new. When I check my oil it’s always really clean looking, even after 2 thousand miles since I did it..
Love that engine. The wife has an r32 and ive got an r36. Very different cars though. Similar sound since i got a stainless exhaust on the passat. I wouldnt say either car was nimble, like a fiesta but they are both lovely to drive and very planted at speed. Hers is 14 years old and mine 12 but theyre holding together well. Decent quality. Both quite costly to run but we do low miles. Hoping to keep them as long as possible but it might be difficult as my job might be gone now. Youve got to have a bit of fun somehow though.....
Fantastic video content again bro. Will need to take mine to Jack soon. 👍
I'll be waiting
That was my old r32, I owned it just over 6 months ago. Funnily I was watching your video when you test drove that loud r32 a day before I picked this up lol.
I watched this with interest, i bought a VW last year with a Full service history, mass flywheel replacement, timing chain replacement, mechanically great, so my service was just done and the tech did a video for me, pointed out that the bump stops need replacing, centre exhaust clamp needs replacing, brake discs and pads need replacing, fuel filter housing needs replacing, the bill for this was big....it's at this time you start thinking to yourself to start saving money...obviously a dealer will charge you way above your local garage, I have decided to source all the required parts from a reputable German parts company to make savings, and getting all the required parts in over the next couple of months, doing this (a) saves the garage time in ordering the parts and (b) means you will pay the garage only for labour.... if at all possible don't let a dealer garage take care of your car other than a service and to get the log book stamped.
Great Video thanks for posting, learned loads about what to look for. Solid advice from Jack!
Great video mate. Amazing mechanic too. Wish we had some like that back home. My R32 has a fault code for Bank 1 sensor 1, any idea which pipe that is? Cheers
Great vid again! Gave me inspiration to work on mine today. Gonna change the DSG oil and filter- something you wont have to worry about in yours! Keep up the good vids on this car mate!
Thank you mate!
Very informative! This is so useful for us guys who buy these cars at high Milage and wonder why ‘something still doesn’t feel right’! Would love to hear a comparison between this and the mk5 GTI or S3
Glad to hear! Yeah I think a R32/GTI comparison is due, especially with both cars being there
I always enjoy your content Hamza. Nice to see you back at it
‘Cheapest R32 in the country’. Regardless of whether it’s the cheapest or not , bro it’s stunning 😍😍
Enjoying these vids on your R32, I got my first golf only a few years ago. I’m not a kid and I’ve longed for a mk2 golf gti 16 valve from the day they hit the road, along with the Peugeot 205 1.9 gti pretty much my dream cars! I’ve had loads of 205’s lol the mechanic is the salt of the earth, you can tell he enjoys going to work! Keep up the great vids! Maybe consider doing a more classic motor in the future! So many of us gear heads started out with a golf or 205 as r first sporty hatchback!
Id love to do a classic/older car! Just would like an indoor space to park it, had a bad experience with my old GC8 Subaru so I'd want to be prepared next time I dive in!
Nice old car , I’ve had two in the past and do miss them ... rare in red with roof as you know ... I’m just running an old RS3 in Suzuka grey now similar to one featured in your previous video some time back 👍🚗
Very nice mate, do love an 8P RS3
Great mechanic and awesome video as usual Hamza, but bro what microphone are you using for the videos???
Thankyou, I appreciate the kind words
Thanks mate! its just a standard onboard mic on the GoPro Hero 8 Black
TR Hamza Nice one brother 💙 inshAllah you and your family keep well during this time! Keep up the good work
Mechanic is probably the most knowledgeable one in UK!
Honestly that's so very kind of you, i just try really hard to learn every day and keep to date with all the current and developing technology. Every day is a school day!
Respect to the mechanic very helpful
Hamza sporting the Covid Wig there
Great vid lad keep em coming👍👍👍
One of the best cars I ever had, best exhaust sound.
Man like jack!!! Big up!!!! I love the R32!!!! Best mk5 💯
You'll want to check the flex disc for cracking. If it fails the drive shaft can wobble around and cause damage to the flex pipes, power steering power lines and oil sensor lines
I really liked the metallic trim in the interior
Love the r32 bro looking into getting one how much was it ? Should I always make sure the chain has been done on a high mileage one
Proper clean underneath wouldn't think it was that old from looking at it
Yeah MK5’s have aged well from a solidity/rust standpoint
Love the videos on this!🔥
🙌🏼🙌🏼
This vid was Sick!! Need more BRUV!!!
Thank you bro!
Wicked tech
I k just. Love r32 amazing sound
Hey Bud, would you go APR with this?
What diagnostic software does the dealer use?
All show and no go 😉
Good video bro. Keep it up👍
Thank you 👍🏼
What model Passat did u get the aluminium arms from bro
Yo Hamza! I’ve got a set of MeyleHD wishbones + bushes that I’ve used for 6 weeks before i upgraded my originals with powerflex stuff.
You can have them if you want! Not sure how i can message you.
Do you still have these brother?
Excellent video👊🏼👍
Thank you 👍🏼
Lovely Vw great sound .
Stay safe Hamza
How much did you pay for it?
What everyone’s been doing in lockdown @6:02
Check chain stretch on vcds. Chain stretch is their biggest problem.
Went to checkout a 2014 mk7 r and its resr arms legit looked yours
Love watching ur videos bro keep it up 👊🏼
Thank you bro, plenty to come!
TR Hamza love that 👌🏼❤️
Which VW garage is this?
Johnson's Volkswagen in Solihull
The T-ROC R, still remember the fun you were having in that car 🔥
Great car, my friend is actually taking delivery of one soon, I might make some more content on one of them!
TR Hamza would be sick to see some more of that car! 👍👌
What’s the update on the Type R?
On pause, it’s in a bit of a mess
Keeep em coming asap
What’s happened to the Scoobie?
Great videos man👌
Thanks man 👊🏼
I’ve got a question with a brand-new Volkswagen can you still speed in a new Volkswagen because I am interesting in getting a brand-new tonigrag Thank you if you answer my question
I've got a gti petrol engine(dead) and I'm thinking about taking the cluster clock over too my mk5 diesel.
Will it work?
Quite the opposite compared to the title "everything Wrong..." - shes actually not in bad condition ;0)
Good to see you outside ChaiWala last night 😁😁
Mk2 GTI should be the next buy ;)
Would you say vw is a good car platform
@trhamza love the vids
Where the ep3 if u do not mind me asking
Thank you, see above comment
Awesome video man
Alright mate, how much do you pay for an inspection at a “dealer” garage? Ford say about £100
We are far less than that, we actually offer seasonal checks which are around £20 I believe which gets you a valet, health check and a autoglym kit in summer!
Jack Wasley no worries. Sorry to spread misinformation then ! I’ve just got a mk1 1.6 focus 02 plate, would this apply to me also? I’m down in Cornwall.
@@conorf8091 I mean we're a volkswagen main dealer and don't get much call for giving any other than VAG vehicles a look over however if you're ever down these parts feel free to drop me a line and I'm sure I could arrange something
Keep vids coming 👍🏻👍🏻
Plenty on the way 👍🏼
good informative vid mate
Appreciate it mate!

Feel free to add me on Instagram @mrjackwasley
Yes yes , man like hamza back to business
Regular content back on track 👊🏼
I am thinking of starting a YT channel where I buy cars and make absolutely no modifications to them whatsoever. A car that was designed right first time, imagine that.
You buy a vr6 2.8 and do a turbo build
Very nice motor 👊🏻
Cheapest R32, yet it's in better condition than most
Cause people are more bothered about millage than how the car been looked after
Got a Solid base there mate, no sign of any rust 😅
Yeah not too crusty haha
@@TRHamza how did you manage to fix the rust
