    I've heard about this but it is nothing new. Has been going on for so long and buyers of high fashion don't seem to give a hoot. I recall reading about similar situations in Italy where they used African migrants in the tanning houses. They removed safety devices, refused to pay for any injuries, refused to pay wages and very poor working conditions - but life goes on as usual. Nothing to see here it's the rich against common working folks. Thanks for sharing.

      Yep. This type of stuff has been going on for decades and in many countries around the world including right here in my own country. I'm in my mid-60s.
      Greetings from Los Angeles

      I think it's a bit outrageous for people to be walking around a big city with a $10,000+ designer bag on their arm, you might as well hold up a "please rob me" sign. Secondly, I really don't feel sorry for these brands, they raise their prices at least twice a year, so basically they are driving any potential customers into buying fakes *gtdupe*

    i thought they did a documentary about this(by Germans or Dutch journalists i think but it had english subtitles). i watched it on youtube, discussing African and chinese sweatshops in Italy (they also mentioned France) and the workers had missing fingers because the machinery is so dangerous. they have the sweatshops in europe to say it was made in europe even tho there is more to the story. there is a lot of human trafficking from/around Africa and Asia😢

      Yes. There is. It’s really sad. I’ll look for the documentary but this scandal is new (unfortunately) 😬

    Hello! I heard a bit about it on RUclips, but almost no articles or press in the US (so far). Most of the luxury brands like Dior operate on their reputation so this news would be a considerable blow to the brand. Thanks for talking about it. As someone who has considered Dior handbags, this does affect my perception of the brand (and all the luxury brands for that matter). Also, I hope your arm is feeling better. Take care!

    Thanks for sharing. Thank goodness I was never into these super luxury bags. I just never care about them. I think they are not anything special, but to each its own. I know some people who just live for them. Pretty dress, hope you feel better.

      Yeah, over the past few years I'm less and less interested in buying luxury bags. I just think the quality is so questionable at this point, unfortunately.

    Sorry to hear about your hand. I HATE any kind of needle! Now if you were still in America would you sue? As for the bags of course it’s terrible but these things will NVER stop when it comes to making money! 😔

    • @adrielfelise
      @adrielfelise  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, they won't ever stop but also, it really bugs me that this information is so hush hush in France. I hate needles too. And, now I wouldn't sue as long as I regained feeling and everything was okay. This is where my lawyer side kicks in - suing is exhausting and 99% of the time not worth the time and effort.

      Hoping you feel better soon. 2,000 dollar bags never seemed quiet right to me. Even if it was the ethics part where they over charge the consumer. The profits are huge. Also i’m kinda irritated with inflation in general. But i’m a bargain shopper so i do okay in the end.

    I hope you feel better soon Adriel! The weather looks amazing! It was chilly when I was there last week but coming from Arizona, it was perfect for me haha. Thanks for the info on the way these luxury brands are operating. It is very sad especially for the poor people who are making these goods at such horrible conditions. I dont own any luxury bags such as Chanel, Dior or LV but I do splurge in sunglasses. Take care!😊

    I don't know why anyone is so shocked everyone should know the bags they spend thousands on don't cost that much to make. People will even say oh I'm paying for the name.
    The itaiain factories are mostly owned by the chinese . Also , these houses get away with saying a product is made in paris or Italy when it is made in china sent back to the
    country and the lable is put in.

    • @adrielfelise
      @adrielfelise  2 месяца назад +1

      I don't think anyone is shocked that they cost less to make than they sell. The Tanner leather guy has already shown us that there is a markup, but even the Tanner leather guy puts the cost of the bags at over 53 euros. I think most of his luxury bag videos come out at at least 300 - 400 euros. I think for most people its the shock that the price is so so low.

    The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be *gtdupe*
