+francisco ramirez Its not all of them my mom supports me on this she just says i need a back up plan just let her know you wanna try and go for this but you'll have a back up plan if it doesnt work out and no im not talking about pro minecrafter LOL i mean cod just my channel says minecraft cause i was in to that
Actually Scump, you, Matt (NaDeSHot) and Tom Syndicate where the guys who inspired me to make a youtube channel and to become a competitve player that really wants to become a professional player. BO2 was my very first COD and i enjoy it so much and a few months like 4 before the game was like over, i started to play in league play alone and i was becoming a really good player! What i understood about COD is that i don´t like playing as a slayer or anything like that, i really wanted to play objectively and i was REALLY good at that, for each game of domination I got like 9 captures and 35 kills and 30 deaths. Now in Ghosts i really want to become a professional COD player but most of my friends don´t like COD so it really pisses me off because in public matches there are really bad players, people who just dont care about wining, campers and noobs, and that is why i miss league play a lot!! I want my channel called TheJayKs that actually is starting to grow really fast, to be a competitive COD channel like yours but it is really difficult because i don´t know anyone who wants to play like me. Guys this message is for you, if you want to play with someone that wants to be a competitive as you, send me a message on 360 or ONE to Dark Juanky (i will change my name to Jayks in a few days) and if you are a team or you have one that needs a GOOD OBJECTIVE player, send me a message in my youtube channel TheJayKs or in my xbox account! Thanks a lot if you finish reading this message, i really apreciate it! Mostrar menos
Great stuff Scumpii. I think that one final thing that should be noted is to be prepared to work hard. It's certainly not going to be easy and it's going to start really slow unless you get a very lucky break. You gotta be willing to put in the time and effort because gaining that audience/fan base is going to be the hardest in the beginning. Hard work pays off, and if you really want it, things will fall into place eventually. This is what I tell myself everyday haha
That was such a good video! So many gamers will be inspired by this. I now have the drive to put my gaming career in overdrive. Look out pro gamers we on our way

Great com Scump. At this stage, I recommend that most people stay in school and make the most of that. Find something more potentially sustainable to do and kick ass in that, unless you really know you have the potential to be a great CoD Player, streamer & YTer. But from my own experience making really creative and beast videos, I've seen that YT success is basically an endless grind this late in the game. There are too many self-serving people with huge channels getting hit up all the time by people looking for handouts, for the deserving ones to get the recognition and shoutouts needed to grow at a decent rate -- and then STILL, viewers are slow to develop a lasting relationship with someone new. Do it because you love it, and the success might come. But if you do it strictly for success, you're gonna have hurdles.
***** Well actually it's Seth, and his GT is 'Scumpay', YT is 'scumperjumper' twitter is 'Scumpii' and facebook is 'Scumpy', so I wonuldn't even bother in trying to corresct people on his name because he spells it so many different ways...
So I'm 29? I'm I sol? I have an awesome job but my hobby is gaming it always has been. Seems this is all directed to the younger guys.. I haven't even seen an older team on competitive finals? not sure why. Travel and paying for tournis would be no problem for me. I could take my whole team to any tourni no problem just hard to find 3 players for some reason that is great.
What you'll find is that when you're older, you may love gaming, but you have a life thats too demanding to put time into gaming like these guys. They've been gaming since they were young, got into competitive as teenagers (when they had time), then really started grinding when they were graduating high school/starting college.
+Pure4Kicks and +mruren Doesn't it looks like you should get together. Then you only need to find two more players :-). I totally get what you mean. It's a drag playing alone.
Actually I think it the opposite for me. I've been playing COD since COD2. and gaming in general since I was like 10. I'm better then I've ever been and now being a boss at work I can leave work for tournis and LAN tounris anytime I please and afford it with ease. Plus now I have a shit ton of money to put in to my Game room witch is super amazing compared to when I was grinding for hardware. So flying to tornis and gaming all night and day is easier then it's ever been for me.
Seth, idk if you're actually reading this or not, but you honestly, you really inspire me to do better as a high school student and as a COD player. Every time you make a youtube video of these things i take your advice and honestly, idk what to say instead of congratulating you on what you've accomplished. I've been a fan since you barely knew how to even commentate xD and you've helped me get through so much by just making me laugh while i watch your videos. I wish you luck on your next tourney and have a Happy Holiday, you deserve your break man.
Hey Scump, just want to let you know that I really enjoy watching your videos man I have been following you and Nadeshot and the whole optic team for a while now. Following you guys really made me want to become a professional player.
Hit XBL: 'Peoria' up on 360 if you want to recruit me or start a team. I have great call-outs and SMG gun skill. I have a competitive setup in case you are wondering. (Astros,Scuf, etc.)
Thanks for the advice Scump!! Its nice that someone in your situation is here to help us dudes out that want to get up with the best!! As for me, Ive started my YT Grind and i have made a little name for myself in the EU Competitive scene, My channel is based around giving players that don't understand the game as much as they could the help they need! Feel free to have a look! :D Thanks Scump & Fellow Scumpii Fans!! :D
I remember i played you in a doubles match in blops1 against you and striker.. After the match i hit you up on AIM and we talked just about the game and random other things for like 3 days. that's why i'm your fan and you're my favorite player. You're a chill dude.
Scump i know this is an old video but i just wanted to say that i love your videos every day and i'm trying to become a pro player but thanks for being a great role model and the most inspirational person to me
My name is shawn. Psh I'm not going to give you a sob story I was just always told to go for whatever I want to be, I want to be a pro. So I started in middle school playing mw2 competitve with friends went to comps. Getting payed!!! We were ontop untill a member didn't get along with another I couldn't take it and left I now have made ecko gaming network and we are sponserd :) thank you scummpie thank you nadeshot thank you optic you helped me make this true
Matthew Smith HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA wtf are you on about man if you like bullshit shots, bad internet and a just general REAALY sucky game then you can think counter strike is better
I just wanted to give a big thx to you man, I am wanting to get started with some competitive gaming and I watched about 3 of your videos and they just like really helped a ton!! so thanks again!
I am a great player and I am only 13, my parents laugh at me when I say I could be a competitive gamer, I don't have a capture card. I have a competitive team they go to my school and they are fun to play with, but only one of them is almost as good as me and serious while the other 2 aren't serious about being competitive, we do game battles but we lose a lot because we never practice and I am currently grounded and I can't even play during the weekdays. That's another bad thing about being young, I don't know what to do because my team isn't serious but I don't have anyone else to play competitively with and I'm too young so I don't have any money and my parents aren't gonna pay for game battles so I can't do any tournaments and I can't get a capture card till Christmas. I don't know what to do all I know is I'm probably one of the top ten players in my entire city and maybe even a wider range than that
hay man i feel you maybe if you have Xbox maybe we could do something on you tube together... do you have black ops 2 we can get in tournaments essay on their that's what i play most of the time
Be consistent. Just keep uploading videos and make them high quality. If people find and like your videos they will keep coming back. You won't get the views and stuff much at all.
Can’t believe when I met you in 2014 at UMG Dallas in front of the hotel I didn’t say anything to you about how much I love gaming and how much I watch optic and gaming in general. I can’t wait to travel to another tournament I’m not giving up on call of duty this time.
I honestly wish I could learn what the road to MLG is like. I figure you have to have started somewhere. Like Call of duty 4. You played the shit out of older Call of Duty games, and in the beginning you sucked ass. Years pass and you begin to become a better player all-around. I suppose I refuse to believe that "natural talent" is anything but a fairy-tale. Talent can only come from dedication and hunger for success...right?
Anthony Taylor Dude the reason why most Pro players are where they are at today is because they been grinding... 8-12 hours a day on Each CoD for years man... Of course they are gonna be insanely good. Unlike most people who have normal lives and other things they have to do throughout the day. They have put in the time and effort for years and it finally paid off. Man do I wish I could play CoD and get paid for it.
+the z project I'll play with you. I'm an 11 yr old and I have the same dream. If you are on xbox 360 and have Bo2..I'll play! My Gamertag is MercilessPotato
Love this video.!! I was just thinking I wanted to start mlg and become a professional cod player but did not know where to start thanks man you have got me started.!!
I am one of your biggest fans, I have been trying for just about 6 months to get into competitive and i just started my YT but i cant live stream because i dont have a computer capable of it. Thanks for the video Scumpii
He's perfectly right about the team party. I've been in a team with a friend from school and a friends I met online a year ago. We've built our chemistry together and we do enjoy playing together. We have goals. I believe a lot of people have the potential to do this, but not a lot put effort into this. Just enjoy the competitive scene and play with people you enjoy playing with that have the skills your needing. I'm currently 100th+ in the Texas area on ghosts for GB. All it is, without a team. You won't achieve a lot. Get a team you can RELY on.
Thanks for the info scump...Just a middle school kid doin Gbs an 8s just because my friends showed me u and then i started to look up to u....bout to go shovel some driveways so i can get money for and elgato
Scump just a question. How good were you when you first starting playing cod? Did you start out as the king, or did you start decent and by playing a lot you got better? I'd like to know.
I gotta question scump. What was your first video like ? Did you commentate in it ? Did you just post your best games and just put music in the background ? What was it like ?
I am 14 right now, I love COD and play very cometitively and watch and learn from Optic at tournaments, videos, streams, and more from how to play the mode, which classes to use, when to push, callouts, many many things to help me and others get better everyday we grind on COD and this video had helped because I want To make a living off this with a team and have tons of fun, so thanks scump for the tips :D
Hey scumpy thanks for the tips man that really help us less well known players understand what to do to become more well known and how to succeed so thanks so much for the tips
Its amazing how things can change in a plink of an eye... Once you are a amateur, then you want to go pro, you grind, you buy equipement, you search teams, but luck isn t aside with many people, timing either... But good things take time to came... I m Not going anywhere... Seth
One question I haven't been able to get a straight answer on is if you can start a professional team on ps4? Like is the call of duty pro/competitive world entirely on xbox? Because me and my friends have stuck with ps4 throughout the years and we haven't really heard of anything competitive on our system. So could you just clarify if you actually have to be on xbox or any rules and guidelines there are on the play station side of things. Thanks. Oh and this was a great video. I'm relieved someone finally sat down and talked about this issue in the way you did.
Thank you for the tips. It really helps because it has been my dream for many many years to be a pro and get sponsored for gaming. this really helps out!
Hey Seth I know this is going to be something that many people ask, but do you know of any pro/semi-pro teams in need of an AR? I am a VERY good Domination player and am very good at getting map control and I am pretty good at search. Thanks for making this video man, it helps to know what I need to become pro!
What was your k/d when you first started playing competitively? Was the grind what made you so good? Or we're you naturally a great player right off the bat?
I'm currently returning to the RUclips side of things. But my passion is in competitive. I started doing commentaries back in like late 08 when it was not popular at all. was Hutch, Seananners, and Blame Truth. Now I'm back doing them again and it seems relatively difficult to get a following again. This was a motivational video though. Always like the vids.
It's true playing with a team that you enjoy and click with makes all the difference. I've grown up playing with my team since Halo 2 oooohh the memories haha
Question, in competitive cod, is it ever too late to make a name for yourself? i just turned 17 and ive been trying to grind. here recently ive started to grow my channel on twitch but i feel like i need more than this to actually go somewhere. i really dont want to get stuck and keep feeling like im waisting my time doing something i love. Is there anything i can do to really give me that extra boost that i need due to the fact that i am 17? Please reply if you can.
My parents won't support my idea of being a full time gamer
same
but follow your dreams
None of them do, i tried too...
+francisco ramirez Its not all of them my mom supports me on this she just says i need a back up plan just let her know you wanna try and go for this but you'll have a back up plan if it doesnt work out and no im not talking about pro minecrafter LOL i mean cod just my channel says minecraft cause i was in to that
+Tractor G same my dad doesn't rlly wnt me 2 but my mom wants me to hav a backup plan

Bro, that has to be the best/most inspirational video I've seen in a while. Those tips are just good tips in general. Not just cod. Good stuff man.
I really enjoyed reading the dialogue between cube and fizz. Really brightened up my day. You tell him cube.
And as always great vid bro..

this is by far the greatest video scumpy has ever given us. respect.
That audio delay tho
its annoying I 'had' a good shot on black ops 2... now ghosts is just terrible to me.. can't play it or get good kds
Then you suck at adapting. And no wonder you thought you had a good shot if all you used was the fal :P
nah msmc was my gun :D now I just went back 2 black ops 2 n cant control it
FAL OSW Ya its so much different then ghosts i went back once too b4 i got my xbox one and it was crazy.
i would imagine your favorite gun would be the FAL OSW, but ya know what do i know
Mine is the other way around. I was "DECENT" on BOII but now im amazing on Ghosts
*cough* Ricky *cough*
Hey Scump, just want to let you know that I really enjoy watching your videos man I have been following you and Nadeshot and the whole optic team for a while now. Following you guys really made me want to become a professional player.

The hardest part is finding good teammates. I only know like one person who is good enough to be on a team.
hardest part is traveling :(
People learn. Pick the best players you know play with em and you all will get better as a team. lol.

Playing 8s with OpTic Kong on CoD WW2 and BO4 was so awesome
Scump how does it feel to be up 2-0 in the 2k finals against Crs LV and then you get hit off 6 times and lose the 2k tournament 2-3 #CurseMob.
Andy Teale Feels good I hate Optic they are overrated and they have stupid dumbass fans.
How embarrassing are you?
Well Andy I am not embarrassing myself the only thing embarrassing is your RUclips profile pic lol.
It's my Google+ account, think you need sleep kid.

Your edge is a little bit salty. Please change that pic you look like a white version of Ibad lololol.

My dream is to win an. MLG event and beat nv but I am only thirteen so I have a while and I know you probably won't but will you scrim my team plz

thanks this was a lot of help and you guys are my best motivation to help me boost my talent in gaming
What was it like ?
you should do a setup video how you stream how to make a video with a capture card and wat kind of things we need to use and start of with
lol Gotta risk it for the biscuit you gotta be consistent Seth with the rhymes.
"And the most important of it all, stream on twitch"
thank you fast internet, ruined my day once again.
Would you like to join SolarRain Gaming we have the same ideas as you!
Hey scumpy thanks for the tips man that really help us less well known players understand what to do to become more well known and how to succeed so thanks so much for the tips
With slight alterations these tips could actually be used for nearly anything you want to be good at
Its amazing how things can change in a plink of an eye... Once you are a amateur, then you want to go pro, you grind, you buy equipement, you search teams, but luck isn t aside with many people, timing either... But good things take time to came... I m Not going anywhere...
Seth
Good Tips Scump!
ive been trying to get into OpTic my entire life.....so im never going to give up cause im gonna follow my dream:)
Thanks I'm on my way there!
Thanks scump this will help me pursue my dreams
Motivation !!! This means so much to me !
Scumpii How old were you when you became know/pro. And How long did it take for you to come know/pro? Please respond back.
In the words of nadeshot, "I don't like biscuits, but I'm willing to risk it" or something like that
One question I haven't been able to get a straight answer on is if you can start a professional team on ps4? Like is the call of duty pro/competitive world entirely on xbox? Because me and my friends have stuck with ps4 throughout the years and we haven't really heard of anything competitive on our system. So could you just clarify if you actually have to be on xbox or any rules and guidelines there are on the play station side of things. Thanks. Oh and this was a great video. I'm relieved someone finally sat down and talked about this issue in the way you did.
Scump, my parents would kill me if I "did my homework the next day in class" or didn't study for an exam...
Thank you for the tips. It really helps because it has been my dream for many many years to be a pro and get sponsored for gaming. this really helps out!
I have always dreamed of playing call of duty with scumpii
Love you scumper.
Love these vids scump keep them up
I've subbed to you ever since Ron's shoutout. Keep up the good shit SCUMPAY :)
Thanks for the tips Scumper
so, scumpys message is Dont see nothin wrong with a little bump n GRIND
brilliant, exactly what i needed to hear!
0:46 lol The Optic Game TEA HOUSE
I'm currently returning to the RUclips side of things. But my passion is in competitive. I started doing commentaries back in like late 08 when it was not popular at all. was Hutch, Seananners, and Blame Truth. Now I'm back doing them again and it seems relatively difficult to get a following again. This was a motivational video though. Always like the vids.
I know this is old, but thanks for the pep talk Scump :D
Your my inspiration scumpi😤
You should make this a series with tips and tricks.
Please reply if you can.
sorry just saw this but yeah its a struggle, and forsure dude, il add you!
*****
Im 14 i have that dream and that mind set uf u want add me some time just leave ur gt
***** No don't give up, there are counter strike professionals who are in their late 20s, don't compare yourself to others because it will destroy you
You wanna start a team? I'm 17 with the same ambitions too?
I'm down for it
Thanks scump I needed this I always wondered what I needed to do cause I have the skill also do you have to be a team of 4 to go to tourneys
Hell yeah TechVirus, here we come
Becoming a professional. Step 1: Get an impeccable router
You should make a series of your gaming history, Like up to 30 episodes or Like ,5 episodes, id love to know ur total road to where u are today
