You'll see 2 base game files in BG3MM "dice 6" and "honour". Leave them out of the load order, unless it's for a specific purpose like commented below.. FYI Some difficulty mods need the honour not sure bout dice 6, Stronger Bosses and Enemies MOD example: Steps to Enable Legendary Action and other thing from Honour mode in Tacticion Mode or other Easier Modes (Including Custom Mode) You need to use Mod Manager and put “Honour " which is included in the original local game before "Stronger Bosses" and export order to game.
I think the only mod out of the must have ones that has not had an update yet is Transmog Enhanced. I think the modder is working on it, but at the same time trying to find a new caretaker. Nice vid btw
Thanks for the warning and tips. I've lerned my lesson after i downloaded patch 4 directly and half of Act 3 was bugged to hell. Now i say "Never play on patch day". I will wait and see if so many things are broken again. Then i will download patch 5
Running 35+ mods and not a single one of them broke my 80+ hour long campaign with the new Patch Baldurs Gate 3 has easily been the most mod friendly games I've ever played and I've been modding for 25+ years
I have a save from Patch 2 where I've added/removed/updated mods ever since, used it for most of the testing for my collection. Even when basically ignoring good modding practice that save is still going strong. Some mods I can't remove from it or it will cause CTD of course, but yeah, BG3 has been really durable when it comes to mods.
Patch 5 really is having issues with alot of things, between the Script extender, and mod fixer i can get the game to play but i still have some mods not working. Ive double check load order, reinstalled the game and mods, i can get it to run normally by just uninstalling everything and then i have no issues which is fine i can fix that part. Mods like 5e spells, Unlock level curve and Fantastical multiverse have been on my list but i havent been able to get these to run properly, hell just trying to change the dice colors havent been working. Maybe ive just done something wrong and i cant get it to work, even when ive got everything installed and im seeing no issues in the BG3 mod manager, i export the list and the game plays but none of the mods seem to even load or exist at that point. IM STUMPED LOL hope everyone else doesnt have this issue but im gonna try and figure it out as well cant wait for future updates on how to revert back to previous patches
Definitely head to the official Larian Discord server for help with that, I don't use Unlock level curve or fantastical multiverse, but I have 5E spells working fine.
Everyone still recommends mods and they're great. But a thing no one tells you: Mods can break if there's a patch. I heard there's problems with mods after patch 5 especially. How bad is it really?
TLDR; Mods should be added very intentionally, they should be tested for compatibility, all of the available information should be read, avoid too many changes mid playthrough, removing mods can cause problems, update the game once your mods are updated. Depends on the mod, and it's all about good modding practice. For the most part people with problems didn't read enough. Patches will break stuff, but that's why you turn off auto updates and wait for updates, even so I've never had a patch be too explosive. I've still got a save from Patch 2 where I've added and removed mods, intentionally not followed good modding practice, and done most of the testing for my collection on it with no major issues. People will ruin things when removing mods too, I do it very sparingly. Some mods are going to bake into your save in a way where removing them is destructive, though some have uninstallers in the optional files. Before updating class/spell mods you should respec your characters to level 1 martial classes, people not doing this is probably the most common issue with users of my collection.
I have not finished the game after patch 5, but I know there were workarounds for it not triggering. Seems to be an issue far less people are having after some time passed and mods were updated.
a big issue i have is everything that was introduced in patch 5, and random text pieces throughout the game are replaced with, "not found" like the new text added with being discovered while trying to stealth. i tried going modless and verifying integrity but nothing worked so far
That sounds like you may have missed something when trying to clean up your game install, or potentially something was baked into your save? Here's a guide for cleaning out a game install docs.google.com/document/d/1GTgQtHP2CToXI2QWPg2VaQs7YRNQhV0JyTT6Ea4S52Y/edit. If you can't resolve that issue I recommend the official Larian Discord server, you can get mod support in there.
Is it just me or are there more bugs now than on release? (I play Vanilla btw, for now.) My first playthrough I think I ran into 1or 2 bugs. Now I seem to find one in every play seshh.
I just now noticed that after loading patch 5, the game won't let me load any save that detects as having any missing mods. Before it would give me the warning but still load the save file. Anyone else having the same issue?
@@BaldursGoonsack got it. Thank you. It’s a pain in the butt process I need to do for EACH save file, but it works. Hopefully there’ll be a hot fix soon.
I'm facing the problem that some mods won't be imported since patch 5. On some like ModFixer or BagsBagsBags for example i get this yellow message "No Mods imported. Does the file contain a .pak?" What does that mean? Are those Mods not compatoble with patch 5?
@@MoonsongReverb Pretty sure all community Discord servers have that as a requirement. It's to stop bots coming into the server, and then proceeding to put up dodgy links and direct message people.

What Shadowheart is wearing?
It's from Basket Full of Equipment, probably the dress bag.
There are two files in bg3mm that are just there and i didnt download after update called dice 6 and honour. You know what these are?

Off the top of my head pretty sure it's Tav's Hair Salon + Tav's hair mixer, so I can combine 2 hairstyles.
