    ugh, you guys kill me sometimes lol. You talk and laugh over scenes where you miss important information, then you have no idea what you're talking about.
    Daliah is Esther's sister. Esther went to her in desperation to be able to have children because Daliah is super powerful. Daliah's price for helping Esther was that she would take every first born that ever comes from their family line. Which is why Esther said she had to get rid of Hope. because Daliah will come for her too, as part of their agreement back then. And yes you said it correctly; that means first born Freya didn't die, she was taken by Daliah. and you'll learn more later.
    if you stop talking and laughing over it that is 😅

      @SassySoda Obviously, asking questions is part of reacting to episodes. Those aren't the ones I am referring to. Clarification is needing confirmation on something based on information you've received/heard/watched/read. It's inquiring. These guys talk over aspects of the show that contain the information they have. They never hear it, and therefore, the questions become redundant. A good reactor balances talking and listening. They can improve by talking more whilst action sequences happen (there's many of those every episode) and listening/paying more attention to the dialogue. Since they have commentary at the end, they can then discuss the plot points. Or watch the whole episode and record afterwards. As a fan of reaction videos, my main requirement is that the reactors listen to the dialogue since it informs the action sequences. Commentary is best left to the end. It happens every episode these past few seasons, hence the questions sounding "dumb" now.

  • @lucariomew358_2
    @lucariomew358_2 2 дня назад +17

    What makes the Freya reveal all the more sinister is that being told Freya "died" caused Mikael to withdraw into depression. His firstborn, his little girl, was gone. He probably felt powerless and like a failure.
    Instead of understanding that, Esther was angry-likely because of her guilt and her own sadness over losing her daughter. But she couldn’t tell Mikael the truth. The fact that she had an affair while her husband was grieving and depressed after being lied to in the first place, and then blamed Mikael for pulling away, speaks volumes about her inconceivable selfishness.
    Then she had the audacity to pass another man’s child, Klaus, off as Mikael’s, and spent the next 18+ years allowing Klaus to be abused-all while keeping Klaus’s real father away.

    The werewolves were supposed to be natives so Ansel makes no sense to me. Like the werewolves were already there when the Europeans showed up. I know people are going to comment and make excuses but it's just plot inconsistencies

    • @SLift-mn8hi
      @SLift-mn8hi 3 дня назад +5

      Stepping in to be that annoying person. The Originals/general TVDU mythology hadn't established that the werewolves were necessarily "Native Americans" yet. Setting aside that it's considered problematic in its own right that Native Americans get repeatedly stereotyped as werewolves in this genre: none of the actors yet cast as werewolves (Taylor Kinney, Michael Trevino, Michaela McManus, Stephen Amell, Phoebe Tonkin, Nathan Parsons, Colin Woodell) are of that heritage, to my knowledge at least, and even if we wanted to say "well, it could have happened for the characters somewhere over the past 1000 years, or at least 400 years of American colonization", Klaus is played by Joseph Morgan and has been since the start. If Ayana (pre-Bennett) and Tatia can have come over separately from the Mikaelson Viking contingent, so too can Ansel's ancestors by at least a few generations. It's convoluted and forced, but is still internally consistent with the way this show's mythology works as much as any alternative route would be.

    • @AtakanBerkBrant
      @AtakanBerkBrant 19 часов назад

      Ansel is a germanic name,he's obviously descendents of Vikings/Germanic tribes and Mikaelson family wasn't the only European family immigrated there as you can see on flashback scenes.Tbh it would make more sense if Klaus had a native father but Ansel being a white guy is totally justifiable

  • @scolemsa

    You guys miss stuff sometimes with the talking so try to keep watch of the subtitles while talking. Wish Zuff wouldn’t make so many off the cuff remarks and interruptions honestly.

  • @SLift-mn8hi
    @SLift-mn8hi 3 дня назад +2

    The chronology is Esther makes Faustian bargain with her sister for all future firstborns from her line, she and Mikael are devastated, they move continents to get away from disease, Klaus grows up, then Mikael finds out his true biological paternity, at which point he proceeds to kill Ansel and co. Ansel did have an opportunity to step in sooner, especially with the way Mikael treated his children/Klaus, but I can understand why the character we're introduced to (in many ways, along the lines of Elijah- at least outwardly noble and a peacekeeper, but it can lead to an unwillingness to step in when he should) didn't. And why Klaus is extremely angry over this- one of his more justified temper tantrums, albeit not calling his mother what he did. I have to say, while Ansel's arrival to the show was (I think) well laid out from season 1 (in the sense that they introduced the fact that his pack's descendants were local and interested parties), it does stretch suspension of disbelief that Esther (who was at least consecrated to the Ancestors in New Orleans) snuck out not only Finn and Kol to new bodies, but also managed to get Ansel back into his own past Bonnie somehow. That's one straw too many, imo, even as I like the storyline Ansel can bring.
    The sequence of consequences is important: Freya is taken, so Esther and Mikael uproot their family to what they think will be better; Henrik dies, so Esther and Mikael uproot their family to what they think will be better. But, while Henrik's death was the major impetus, consider also that the Mikaelson's eldest remaining children were reaching (passed a little, even) marriage and procreation ages. We saw last episode that Elijah was on a path to marry Tatia (who already had a son per TVD S3 and could likely give birth again), Sage gave every indication she knew Finn as a human in the old Mystic Falls precursor village and they also were likely to marry/reproduce- Dahlia was about to get more firstborns until Esther took away her childrens' chance to ever provide them. And Esther used dark magic to turn them into the greatest weapons they could be... who could have maybe faced Dahlia and retrieved Freya if subsequent events hadn't led to Klaus killing Esther before she could come clean. (I laughed a little at y'all learning Dahlia is a huge threat who could hurt the main characters and then being like "hopefully we'll meet her soon"...) Esther is every bit responsible for making her children into vampires and what they became, while yes, there is an honest part of her that does want a "better" life for them- her issue is that, much like Mikael, she is abusive and controlling and very limited in what her definition of "better" is. She's not wrong that things would be better if they weren't mass murderers across centuries, of course, but her own moral code is severely lacking and she's more than willing to sacrifice innocent lives in her own plots.
    Not a big Ollie fan, but I am sorry for his suffering on the way out, and for the suffering it causes Jackson. Cami is playing a risky game with Finncent (also, all those stored-away weapons... hopefully you'll get some insight on where they could have come from soon). As to Marcel's blood supply, while he probably would have helped regardless, that was Marcel's prize for the deal on the help hiding Hope's survival at the end of the first season (I don't quite remember what Marcel thinks his end of the bargain to get said blood was).

    Enjoyed this a lot. Esther is just as bad as Mikael is they’re both one in the same. Mikael and his Viking friends pillaged Esther’s village. Discovers Esther, separates her from her sister, takes her away, forcefully marries her and had lots of kids with her. Not a good guy. Esther’s ways of controlling the narrative of the past and the manipulation of her children and her poor decision making, judgments and lack of understanding and self awareness about what she is doing and how much more bad than good she has done is crazy. Not a good lady. I’m sure she wasn’t always like that. Although, I do think that the both of deserved each other as both are very f***ed up ppl.

    Another reason why I can’t stand Rebekah the reason she and Kol exists is cuz of Klaus being a punching bag for Klaus and Esther allowed it. Esther loved Klaus’ father so much she allowed Rebekah’s father Mikael to beat him. There is no person in this universe who has had it worse than Klaus including this fanbase’s precious Rebekah. Klaus upon birth was Mikaela’s favorite child even though Freya was the first born cuz Klaus is a wolf a warrior by nature Mikael some how sensed it somehow. Esther’s necklace weakened all of his wolf senses therefore making him useless in Mikaels eyes he thought Klaus was the most like him cuz without the necklace he would have been a better fighter and hunter than any of his brothers especially Finn and Elijah. Klaus didn’t have a chance from birth.
