I believe Africans too fought wars among themselves and like everything else, we lost this history to just oral tradition - no documented history like we have on Europe. Think about it, that we have a robust history of the great Benin which stretch from Edo to Dahomey is a testament to the fact of inter empire wars in Africa. We had warriors from various empires in Africa. Their existence alone proved we fought wars. The West has a way making their doings and history become popular.
