I too have been an airline employee for 39 years. Piedmont/USairways/American. All of mine are on either Piedmont Timetables, which show dates. I also have many on boarding passes which show their printed names for clarity and TKT receipts. Mine also have a story behind each one. Mine are from all walks of life....Ice-skaters Katarina Witt, Kristi Yamaguchi. Football players, Dan Marino, Thurman Thomas, Rockie Blier, Mel Blount, John Brodie. Baseball, Paul Molitar, Ryan Zimmerman...Rock groups, Supertramp, Chuck Mangione, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Peter Frampton. Basketball, Dr.J, Dennis Johnson, John Havlicek, Walt Frazier......Hockey only one but a great one Bobby Orr! Favorites, Dudley Moore, Andy Griffith, Shirley Macclain.....Winston Churchill's grandson. The list goes on as well. Piedmont, Usairways, and TWA are all gone now but the memories linger on!! Not sure how to place a value on them.
What an interesting collection! Doesn't even require authentication. I would never sell. I have some playbills signed by Tyrone power abd Betty Grable. I thought the appraisal was rather low myself actually.
I'm the guy in the video and actually I was quite pleased with the 2012 appraised value, I didn't honestly expect that much value! My reaction was more that I didn't want to over-react like some seem to do on the show. It was a fun experience at the Roadshow for my wife and I!
@@jdavis417 If it wasn't pop-culturely famous during the mid 80s and on it's really not worth much 99.9% of the time. How many people you think can really name the lead cast besides Bogart in Casablanca for example that aren't of the Boomer or older generations? The fact is most those "timeless" classics have been shortened to Wizard of Oz, Chaplin, and Orson Wells if they even know them at all for most people. The 60s has a few notables that are spammed everywhere like Leon's Man with No Name trilogy, Hitchcock, 2001 etc. But the 70's with Godfather, Jaws and Star Wars is when things really started for true "timeless" classics. Now everything is a remake of the 80s-90s it seems like.
Are you kidding me? I nearly choked on my morning coffee when she gave that low appraisal. Of course this was in 2013. I am watching this at home during the Coronavirus pandemic, March 2020. I feel in today's market this collection could easily fetch $15 to $20K, especially with his provenance.
The appraisals are always low usually cause they don't want to hype the clients up too much since there's always the chance that they will decrease/increase exponentially in value for whatever reasons it maybe.
You're a particular kind of stupid aren't you? 1) If he does decide to sell, what odds, they aren't your collections. 2) Why wouldn't you want to know what something is worth?
Writing down his experiences for each would be fascinating for his grandchildren as well as make the collection more valuable.
Terrific idea!

What nice memories to have.
How was it even appropriate?
Well, she was on her way to a funeral....
OK! Thanks for clearing that up!
Laura Woolley is beautiful and charming. I met her at a Les Paul auction in LA several years ago.
Radiant smile
Worth more than that
Interesting to see the pseudonyms they used on the boarding pass.

Really cool and unique
at 2:45 he says "yeowwwww"... then wowww.. He secretly was really disapointed.
If he documents his stories, perhaps the value would increase? :(
Seregon72 If he had gotten photographs of these celebrities, the appraisal would have been much higher.

I think she did her homework

Autographs aren't worth a fortune.
It's only autographs - I can hear Rick from Pawn Stars offering the guy 250 bucks - lol
I can't imagine how many times celebrities are asked for their signature...
Next day he sells them 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nowadays you’d get fired for bothering a celebrity.
Even in grief there are trolls . How sad
his stories seem too good to be true
Never dreamed of ever thinking to sell them...yet here I am getting them appraised.....SCUMBAG!!!
