All my life food banks have existed for those struggling. I have stood in the line off K road Auckland a few times. Now i make small donations on a regular basis to NZ charities. In a modern just society every citizen should be able to take comfort that the government and the people of their country will provide the basic necessities of life for them when they need it. Every person regardless of their decisions or circumstances should know that ,housing and clothing, food, water, access to healthcare, education, and employment/ business ownership support will be there for them. No human asks to be born, but EVERY human born deserves to be able to live in dignity, comfort, and with support when needed.

How ironic ! Dave Letele announced today that his Foodbank has been overwhelmed by public generosity , including 2 philanthripists who gave $100,000 each. Some other charities may be mixing in too much politics & corporate overhead with their charity.
The poor are just being greedy. This christmas the down trodden landlords can claim back billions in interest deductibles. That should give every one that christmas feeling.
