The culture of the Cowboy, has its origin, in the north of the territory of Mexico, it is necessary to mention that the historical fund is in Chihuahua, Mexico, where the first cowboys emerged, as well as the first original cowboy hats.
Cowboy acquired his lifestyle, clothing and work, from the Mexican cowboys who lived in the territory of Texas, in those days, Texas was part of Mexico, before the annexation of the territory to the United States, the US-American Cowboy was born of work of the Mexican cowboys of northern Mexico, who taught it to the US-Americans, the historic US-American cowboy of the late nineteenth century emerged from the cowboy traditions of northern Mexico and became a figure of special importance and legend of US-American Folklore becoming a cultural icon.
Although the US-Americans do not admit it out of pride, the cowboy emerged with Mexican origins.

Reality is we teach them how to ranch. Boots, hat, chaps, laso, saddle, and ranching techniques all came from Mexican vaqueros. The Hawaiin Paniolos (cowboys) also learned form Mexican Vaqueros in the 1830's but they a humble and give us the credit, they are not cocky like the anglo cowboys who dont admit it. Vaqueros are originally from Spain
First of all and before anything else I'm Spanish and I love Mexico and Mexican culture so please don't take this comment the wrong way
My grandad was a cowboy in Extremadura, Spain and all his family before him, vaqueros are pretty common in Extremadura, Andalucia and Castile
How do you think we get fighting bulls for bullfights encierros rejoneo and all other bull related traditions
Do you really think Spaniards took horses and Spanish bred fighting bulls all the way to America without knowing how to ride a horse and herd the cattle?
Whilst Mexican Charros, Argentinian Gauchos and Northern Mexican Cowboys as well as Buckaroos etc have evolved and developed their unique way of cattle herding (which I admire) this does originate in Spain
      Look up things like
      Vaquero
      Trashumancia
      Traje corto andaluz
      Charro (Salamanca, España)
      For example
The biggest evidence that vaquero culture is Spanish is that Spaniards were doing all of this as early as the 10th century, that there were no horses in America and that the Spanish bull was introduced by the Spanish, bull breeding requires perfect horsemanship
The fact that there are Argentininian Cowboys (Gauchos) also proves this
Again I love Mexico and Mexican culture I'm not being salty and yes I admit your style is unique to you but the original vaqueros or cowboys are and always will be Spanish

Vaquero is the spanish translation of cowboy. Both Charros and Gauchos are a type of cowboy, the first originated in Mexico and the former are from South America mainly Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. Different cultures from the Americas have different words to describe their cowboys, such as the Colombian llaneros or the Chilean Huasos. Even Hawaii has cowboys called Paniolo, which predate traditional American cowboys.

The culture of the cowboy, has its origin, in the north of the territory of Mexico, it is necessary to mention that the historical fund is in Chihuahua, Mexico, where the first cowboys emerged, as well as the first original cowboy hats.
Cowboy acquired his lifestyle, clothing and work, from the Mexican cowboys who lived in the territory of Texas, in those days, Texas was part of Mexico, before the annexation of the territory to the United States, the American Cowboy was born of work of the Mexican cowboys of northern Mexico, who taught it to the Americans, the historic American cowboy of the late nineteenth century emerged from the cowboy traditions of northern Mexico and became a figure of special importance and legend of American Folklore becoming a cultural icon.
Although the Americans do not admit it out of pride, the cowboy emerged with Mexican origins.

Wrong, it's the other way around, US cowboy culture is based on Mexican charro one, which, in turn, comes from Spain.

Spaniard only brought their skill in herding/cattle ranching and the riding of horses(horsemen). The Mexican vaquero had unique gear created/invented and used in Mexico none of that existed before in Spain. Cowboys of other countries are no where near a Mexican Vaquero in appearance/gear or cultural identity noted in Mexican culture, Music, movies, tradition etc... The gaucho of Argentina is not real it was all an invention by the gov of Argentina. Gauchos NEVER looked like the current gaucho you see today its a myth! The real Gaucho were indigenous people and were outcast of society hated by everyone and did not look like the gaucho you see today. They just copied Mexican Vaqueros and created some made up version of their own "cowboy". Mexican vaqueros has had world wide influence in all of the Americas including the Vaqueros of other Hispanic countries in Latin america. there is a reason why Americans appropriated the Mexican Vaquero becasue it is effective way of herding and surviving harsh terrain that was unfamiliar to them as they had ZERO expertise in those climates. Spain doesn't have vaqueros they didn't even use that term before Mexico. This is the history of Mexican culture an evolution of Spanish and indigenous culture. To not recognize Mexican culture as unique and authentic and basically discredit and say it all comes from Spain is ignorant at best. is also offensive to say that our culture is some "copy" . The English/British NEVER say that about Americans and claim everything in America came from the British. But I notice Spanish/Spaniards love to discredit Mexican accomplishments and claim them as their own. Just becasue we have history doesn't mean everything we have is because of Spain. I am not Spanish I am Mexican and I we are very proud of our culture yes we were part of Spain more than any other Hispanic country since we were called New Spain and the main commanding Spanish province in the Americas however we grew out of that culture and formed our own which is why it is so different to call it "Spanish "is really in bad taste.

Mexicans have Spaniard roots too. We are mestizos, whites and natives. I’m white and I can tell you that this tradition started with mestizos and natives who were assigned to work the land riding horses.

Spanish viewed “cowboy work” as beneath them. Thats why the mestizos and indigenous people did it. Spaniards were horsemen, but they didn’t do what modern cowboys are known for

NOPE. Vaquero culture in Mexico is UNESCO heritage protected. If its "SPANISH" why is it in MEXICO??? Spain just brought horseman and cattle ranching techniques but the cowboy gear , boots, Mexican sombrero, lasso, chaps, rodeo etc... All came from the Vaquero in Mexico. The word vaquero dont even exist in Spain. Mexican culture has movies, music, dancing, tradition and rodeo surrounded by vaquero and charro culture. Sorry bud its NOT European/Spaniard its MEXICAN BABY!!!🤠
