Yep, that’s what happened to my neighbor’s house two doors down. We are in patio homes so we are very close to each other. It burned her house down and even melted her vehicles. Fortunately it was put out before it caught the houses next door on fire.

True. Videos on RUclips about the danger of linseed oil. The one I watched said to spread the used rags out to try completely before disposing of. Will cause fires.

I LOVE heights. At 60 I still climb on the 3rd story roof to clean my gutters, climb to the top of my 20-30 foot trees for fruit and trimming. 🤣🤣
    Love flying too. 😁
Snakes and spiders I avoid but don’t run from.
🤔can’t think of anything I’m afraid of other than the random lunatic liberal. 🤣

I had a snake slither across my foot the other day when I was watering the garden. Scared the crud out of me, and I screamed like a little girl. My 26 year old daughter was standing right there and thought that was hilarious! She’s never heard me scream like that before. 😂 it was just a garter snake, we don’t have any poisonous snakes here, but they still startle you!

Jenn, Take care of yourself. I have severe spinal issues and I can't walk on uneven ground. I consider myself blessed to be able to walk at all. Of course, I am so much older than you are, almost 76. If it weren't for the pain, I wouldn't complain or do anything about it, but the pain is severe. I am so glad that you are not, as you said, in pain, unless your ankle pops. Has the podiatrist suggested surgery? Torn tendons can sometimes be repaired, but that's your doctor's recommendation.

Here in Michigan we have a rattlesnake, a watermoccasin, but usually they go the other way when they hear you coming so you rarely see them. The other one will try to swallow your fish if you are bank fishing for bluegills/sunfish and have them on a stringer.

My mother had the greenest thumb when it came to roses. We (her kids) bought her a dozen long stemmed roses when we were young and when the petals fell she topped them cut the stems in half and stuck them in the ground. Those stems grew! The roses were beautiful. She loved roses, we had a rose bush like yours in front of my bedroom window. Thank you for these nice memories. I love your channel, if you have need for a crone on your petting farm, let me know. I figured a tiny house and sell your surplus produce, remedies and canned goods, I had an idea. I don't like snakes either. You're young but there was a hit song called I Don't Like Spiders and Snakes, I found it funny. Jen, my daughter Oli has ankle issues as well, she will need surgery to repair the damage, she constantly rolls her ankles. I'll be praying for everyone with an extra one for you and Oli. Mad love for everyone, be safe and until next time.

    Hi Jen and Zach,
May I make a few suggestions to make life a little easier?
    - re: helping Rae Rae with reading: get a kindergarten writing tablet (wide-ruled with dotted line between). On every other line write a letter from the alphabet beginning with "A", then, "a", etc. During lessons sit next to your daughter and using phonics, sound out each letter as you write it across the line, "long" and "short" sounds. Be sure to encourage her to sound it out herself to copy you, writing each letter on the line beneath yours.
Once she knows how each letter looks and sounds write simple words out on the pages for her to practice 'sounding out'. Resist sounding them out for her if she struggles a bit, helping her out only if you see she really needs it. Once she feels confident in sounding out the letters, reading becomes more refined. I did this with both my sons and they basically taught themselves how to read by 3 yrs. of age. The key is to be aware if she has dyslexia (which there are various types) or vision issues, as these can be learning challenges. Hope this helps. 😺
    - re: stripping paint from the 'white house': Bob Villa (from original "This Old House" series) says, NEVER power wash exterior paint on a house, as it can seriously damage the paint__in THIS case, would most likely make your job a LOT easier! 😹
    - re: your ankle, Jen: considering the lifestyle you have, it may be wise to rethink surgery to reattach torn tendon if it is significantly or completely detattched. The type of injury you have does not heal on it's own__a torn tendon cannot 'reattatch' itself. As a result, the leg muscle will eventually shorten and atrophy, too! If you opt out, you may end up developing a seriously chronic issue over time, possibly eventually unable to do the things you enjoy such as, hiking the trails in your neighborhood or even worse, walking around your property doing necessities on your homestead__as your ankle may become less stable over time. Sometimes a doctor may not encourage a surgery because of the type of insurance you may have. Getting a second opinion in this case may be a good idea.
I totally get your apprehension of surgery, however, considering how young you are, your lifestyle, and with this diagnosis "I" would do it!
Thanks for sharing your beatiful family with us.
    Love, Light, and Blessings.
    🙏😇✨💫🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳🌎💖🙌🙌🙌😺

I (Cyndi) severed my left one when I was 4. I had an accident as a child. I kicked out a window. Ligament was severed. Way back in the late 70's they didn't repair ligaments as often as they do now.
Since I was so young, my muscles and other ligaments have gotten stronger. But I fall easily on uneven ground, no running, and have a neoprene sock I wear when hiking and be very careful on stairs.

    I really don't like spider's and snakes.
But I know the benefits of having the good ones around your property out way my fears.
Zach I'm so glad that you didn't kill the snake, you are so right. They are the helpful snakes to have on your property.
    Thanks for sharing.
Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe.
May God continue to bless you and your family.

If you have a local library nearby, they might have a summer reading program which is a fun way to practice and motivate reading! Also, totally agree on the heights, spiders and snakes! 😳

Wrap your ankle with cabbage leaves and an Ace bandage for the swelling. Research cabbage leaves and swelling. It worked for my broken ankle. Amazing natural remedy

100% thing that’s helped me with my ankle is using a tens unit, it’s amazingly cheap and simple to use.

Hey Zach, I feel you with snakes, spiders and heights! I also have issues with tight, enclosed spaces.

Jen I've got the same injury and Podiatrist said to get the ankle support you can get at sports stores it supports better. Also don't stand on it too much. Like you there's things to be done. Take it easy..

The knockout rose also comes in the double form. Also a prolific bloomer!

No judgement on the teaching kids to read. I've homeschooled 4 kids and my 3rd is struggling reading at 8 years old. He hates it and has just barely this year learned his letters and phonics. He couldn't remember them even a year ago. You just never know, every kid is different. Don't feel like you need to rush them. You have time. Just do 10-15 min a day of them reading plus a little more time where you are reading to them. But that's just my advice and opinion and I respect others who disagree! God bless!

Try finding a subject that interests them. Even if its comic books. Anything they love they will really try harder to read about it. It worked for a couple of boys, one was one of my nephews.

My hubby is the same way with snakes. I am the snake wrangler in this home. I had a compost pile I had to take down and there were a few snakes I surprised. While I just used the hoe to nudge them on and talked calmly to them, he ran into the house and looked on the computer to see if they were lethal!! LOL!! Not venomous, not a lot of them here in MA. Some spiders startle me like that though! Fisher cats do scare me and we do have those!
