2011 was a great year for mexico...gold cup winners,u-17 winners,3rd at the u-20 and panamerican winners...though i think gio should of won the player of the tournament of the gold cup..

Yeah true, but it's a fast growing region right now. Mexico and USA are the elites but teams like El Salvador, Panama, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Canada are all starting to grow into very solid teams, who in the future could make the region a lot more interesting.
@SuperRBDC Don't forget the 8 players suspended days before the tournament. We missed out on seeing Marco Fabian and Jona Dos Santos and players that could have really helped out at the Copa America. Did you know that U-22 team tied Colombia and beat Ecuador before the Copa America before the suspensions?
I was there for both teams (and got hate from every body, but I didn't care). Let me say that in my mind, I knew it was important for USA to win for the future of soccer in the US. I hope this doesn't set them back. BB has to go. My heart was joyful to see Mexico win. This generation can take it far on the international stage. The comeback win was glorious and Gio's goal was amazing. For US fans, even though they lost the lead, it's no shame loosing to this Amazing Mexican team!

For only-english speaking Americans crying that the awards was done also in Spanish... Well,.. reality is that Spanish should really be the 2nd official language of the USA.
