Great video! Have you ever looked at pictures of Elizabethan/Tudor gowns? They’re very wasp-waisted (ooh imagine a wasp dress) and about as extravagant as it gets! I just really like the shape language of it all, it’s right up my alley and hopefully yours too! I’d love to see a fae queen costume in that style, or any style really!

Just go for it. My first project was wonky asf but I had fun and just kept going 😊. We all start somewhere, don't focus on the end result but on the process. Even if it comes out very shitty, you gained experience 💓
I love the duct tape pattern method. I've done that to make a mannequin but never just for the pattern I don't know why I never considered it but that's so perfect.

Hair straightener
My iron is almost retired after i discovered opening seams with a hair flat iron(i completely forgot the right therm for this thing in English, but i think you understood 🙃). Much more control over the temperature, and also way more precise.
For future iron-less endeavors, I've found a flat pan heated over the stove works just the same
The sheer chaos that ensues every time you're trying to just make your own patterns/trying to do x thing without actually looking it up is honestly the best parts of these videos, especially because it usually works in the end.
Getting organized is important. I've been doing the same thing so I can get my uploads on a regular schedule.
Whimsical is such a good describtion for this look. I love it
If you get a small spray bottle you can spray some water on instead of steaming for things that require that too : )

Um this is maybe a sin but I use a hair flat iron for ironing little hems and shit when I’m sewing things. Also it heats up faster than my iron, so I use it for ironing any small things. You also don’t need an ironing board. As I said. Maybe a sin.

Probably spot cleaning! The surface is pretty slick so I doubt it would get stained easily.
As for laundering, I always wear things under my corsets so they don't usually get sweaty or anything. Again, just a spot clean if they need it.

This made me laugh so much, and I wanted so much to live next to you so you could raid my sewing/art tools/supplies! Just discovered your channel and couldn’t help but laugh about your iron. Happened to me with my black & decker iron in my 20s when I had a super-sketchy ironing board as well. One bump sent it to the floor and it not only shorted it and arced, but also melted a large spot on the carpet.
