Racing is an addiction, or obsession? I have been ( mostly on than off) an enthusiast of racing a wide variety of vehicles down the 1/4 mile at official drag strips. It can be quite costly to do so with just the basics like , gas to get to the track, entrance fee, a helmet ( even a leather jacket, gloves and leather pants for two wheeled racing), food and tolls. If you trailer a vehicle to be raced of course there's more gas and more tolls.
Even if you race just for the fun of it, it's easy to rationalize spending A LOT of money for better performance just to shave a TENTH of a second or two . Been there, done that MANY times since I started drag racing back in 1977. I still look forward to the times I'll be again racing my vehicle down the 1320. By the way, I'm 69 years young and still pretty god at this game.
