Well done, thanks! In my case, as the speaker didn't turn on I thought battery is broken. After dismantling it and pull of batterie connector, I measured good nominal voltage. I put it back and a miracle happens - it works again. I guess removing power was a kind of reset for it. Anyway your video helped a lot for understanding the procedure. Greets
I have the same issue that many people seem to encounter where the jbl turns on and right off again. I figured out my original battery is SUN-INTE-156, where my new batteries are SUN-INTE-118. Maybe that causes problems. I cannot find a 156 battery anywhere though, which sucks. Any ideas for how i can make the 118's work?
I am not sure what the differences between 118 and 156 batteries are. You are saying many people have the problem that 118 doesn't work for them? I hear this for the first time.
@mygiguser im just guessing that that might be the cause. The only replacements i could find for charge 4 were 118 batteries while my originals were 156. Thought they would be compatible but unfortunately didnt work out
@@mygiguser as far as I know any other cells that boast higher than that don't exist. There are Sanyo ncr18650ga cells that can reach that and the LG mj1 cells. Although, those JBL packs already hit those limits basically, so maybe more work than it's worth. But if it's not OEM, then it would be cool to at least use cells that i know are good.

Good question. How do you know the battery is charged. Do the lights blink when charging? Does it work when it is connected to a charger? So many things can go wrong. Hard to say over the internet ...
@@mygiguser Yup. Lights are blinking starting at 4 or 3. It depends on the battery. And it's not working when plugged. I tried different chargers and nothing worked. So I contacted the JBL staff today. It may be because it's not from the manufacturer but I was unable to find a new battery matching my serial number so I send them a message. Where did you buy your battery ?
@@Merle404 Sort of. The battery should match the serial number of your speaker. But it's almost impossible to know unless you contact JBL. They had some batteries (don't know if it's still the case) but they cost 80€. And you had 10€ or near in shipping wich is unbearable. The best option that you have is to find someone selling one for spare parts matching with the 2 letters at the beginning of your serial number. Mine was starting by GG. Hope it could help even if I can't give a proper solution.

I fixed that too! The repairshop that had it before me didnt plug the buttons in.😅 Only problem left is the airleak from the button area. Idk exactly how to fix that.
IPORTANT!!!!! Before you buy a new battery, take your current battery down and press the POWER button for a few seconds and then connect your battery again and try to charge it. It actually worked for me. From what I understand it have to do with the speakers software or something like that.

Can the cells be chaned ? Does the battery pack have inside a BMS ? or the BMS is built in the speaker board?

Curious to see if it would be possible to use higher rated cells, like a 3500mah 10a 18650, 3p1s and increase the battery life that way.
It would work, but most cells with that capacity are fake.

Besides 7500mAh is 2500mAh per cell, upgrading to Samsung 3500mAh should give a nice boost.
not sure with the 21700s it could be too tight.
My charge 4 isn't charging anymore but it can still be turned on, im assuming that all that is need is a new battery?

Ja Batterie kaputt. Am besten Batterie ausbauen und dann bestellen! Darauf achten dass die neue Batterie die gleichen Anschlüsse hat.
