Tomoya has sat by Ushio's bed for a few days not eating or drinking, not caring of himself. When he goes with her on a trip, Ushio finally dying in Tomoya's arms. He truly loses all hope and mentally and psychically exhausted and of malnutrition , he simple dies holding Ushio.
the clannad ending is subjective, the true ending is the ending where Tomoya grants everyone’s wishes and because of this, Nagisa was able to have a second chance at life and doesn’t die. However, an ending more realistic could be the fact that Tomoya had anxiety during Nagisa’s birth which caused him to day dream. The audience decides the ending and what they can take out from the anime but the true ending is the happy ending which is the original and is in the original source
Ushio and Nagisa didnt really die right? i mean they did die, but thanks to ilusionary Ushio and Tomoya gathering those light things, they were able to have a second chance at life. I dont think most people understand that about this anime, sure it may be sad but they all end up alive in the end which means its a good ending :) i love this anime
That's what people call DEUS EX MACHINA, it's some type of miracle that happen in a story when the main character is in desperate needs to give a happy ending.
@@aimansyahmidzulkhairy909 Nope the lights and their power to grant a wish was foreshadowed multiple times throughout the series, hell, its how nagisa survived when she was a little kid, not a "Deus X Machina"
When i saw this scene im like hell no man nagisa u better dun die or i might kill the author but thank god at last all Of them and ushio survived and lived....
@@Nevverhrrt Depression is real. He couldn't give Ushio a good life at that time, sometimes it's better to focus on you first and ask for help. For example, Tomoya's dad- he was too prideful to get help when it came to raising his son, which caused Tomoya emotional and physical trauma. Which I'm sure Ushio had slightly too, emotionally. But, it would have been way worse had she been with her dad during that time. I know they tried to do that whole thing with making us understand his dad, but I still see him as a selfish person who did more harm than good for his son.

Even if we got the good ending I'll never be able to unsee one of the saddest anime moments of all time.
This really is painful to watch when you know what happens later in the series
God damn this is one of my favorite moments. You can feel the happiness turn to uncertainty and the animation is so good
