  • Early March, Tasman popped over to the West coast for a few days, finding some steep hills and bluffs and a bit of succulent venison. Super hard mission but an awesome experience for my second ever hunting trip on the west coast!

    Another excellent vid Tasman. I always crack up when the Mincer appears but I almost lost it when I saw the Crumpets on the Camp Toaster!! Keep up the great work. Cheers man.

      Yeah cracked up with the retro toaster for the crumpets. Was that a new tent Tasman was rocking?

      Thanks bro! The crumpets were way better on the toaster than just over the bare flame, so worth it 😂

    Great video mate, and I expect the quality of your content to only get better with the introduction of a drone. Drones really give you a better perspective of the surroundings. Cheers for sharing your adventures, it helps for us kiwis living abroad. Can’t beat NZ’s backcountry!

      @@NZWildAdventures Need a permit for them. Other aircraft use the area too & a drone could put one out of the sky. Civil aviation rules & DOC apply. Seen some pretty silly drome flights shown by some who should know better about how close a helicopter can actually get unawares flown right. DoC might give consent in some sites, some will be out of the question. Their response would be interesting

    Another great walk, well done👍., those hot pools sure have changed, they were just a hole in the creek bed when I was there 15 years ago, we had to dig them out with a rusty old shovel head so we could take a bath .now they look smart.

    A proper frypan, what a bloody mincer, and a toaster!! Im starting to wonder about your sanity. But then, what if your normal and its the rest of us who are nuts for not taking them!!! Well id come on one of your trips before NZhunter because the grub looks soooo much better than a backcountry packet.

    Hahaha….. Tasman, once again, how HAWT was it? Luckily you have the strongest legs in the world, which can work in high temperatures, in high altitudes and even rain. Epic views, mind you, epic effort was required. I kept looking out for the carabiner and ropes.. but no. The orange jacket is a good touch for the drone…. can you mount a gun to that drone 😉… then you’d be able to sneak up on the critters with super stealth. And yes, navigation in that weather on the way down… stress. But man, that cool water, hut and hot pool would have been a welcome sight.

    • @NZWildAdventures
      @NZWildAdventures  Год назад

      HAWT 🤣 haha thanks, the ol legs didn't feel particularly strong by the end of the trip! A rope couldn't have hurt in a couple places which were too dodgy for the one-handed camera operation 😅.
      That hut and hot pool were such a welcome break after the steep descent!
      Cheers Paul 😁

    • @NZWildAdventures
      @NZWildAdventures  24 дня назад

      Honestly on this trip I had to make mince cos I'd dragged the damn thing all that way 😂. Usually I'll do some steak though, but it's generally more tender after a few days.
