She says that two to three nights a week he spends alone or with friends , and that she is lonely on these nights. So do they spend every other night together? if so , then obviously she needs more hobbies and is the asshole, as it were. You get to slump down in your chair and just relax from the effort of cooking, luxuriate in the taste/texture in your mouth, and let your eyes close/roll back in your head.

It's disheartening to see people so universally crapping on someone for having more people and joys in their life than their partner.

So the instant they send you that text saying the douche has been promoted. You text back that you quit. And just...never go back...during the pandemic. I felt like a biblical Samson.
