Look like you had a blast. I LOVED it and it was great to see the excitement in your face while you were hiking and then when you made it to the top. A once in a lifetime trip. Congratulations on your hike and great job on the video.
Thank you so much, Bob. Like you said, it was a one of a kind experience. Insanely difficult but might want to do it again, soon. I checked one off on my bucket list, two more places pop up :)
Your videos are awesome : ) This is really living. I normally see hundreds or thousands of videos and just skip over them. But it's videos like these that you click on and give it a chance, that make me realize what I'm missing (as in a similar way, it's hard to find a good movie worth watching also). You spend more time searching for something great, than actually watching something great. This is where some of my most favorite (affordable) coffee in the world is grown (Tanzania Peaberry), on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Wow! Thank you for your kind and encouraging comments. I really appreciate it. I just LOVE coffee from Tanzania. In my opinion, it's the best coffee that I ever tasted.😉😍
@@jinsjewelry - Thank you Jina for the reply. I have been roasting my own coffee for almost 20 years (but I also drink all kinds of tea) and of all the coffees I've ever roasted, the Tanzania Peaberry is the best (best tasting, most consistent, most affordable, high quality, etc.). Anyway, keep on exploring : ) - John
it's amazing! Introducing this amazing mountain climbing Thank you! It's a valuable documentary! Full watch! It ’s a really nice video! I was impressed! Thank you!
@@TaintedMango This Marangu route is actually 5 nights 6 days trekking. Day1: Marangu gate to Mandara hut Day2: Mandara hut to Horombo hut Day 3: Horombo hut to Zebra Rock and back to Horombo hut Day 4: Horombo to Kibo hut Day 5: Kino to Uhuru peak to Horombo Hut Day 6: Horombo hut to Marangu gate After you summit the Uhuru peak on day 5, you come down to Horombo hut. That's about 12 miles and it took us 14 hours because of snow storm. It was the hardest day. You spend last night in Horombo hut and come back to Moshi in day 6.
What an epic trip Jina! Excellent video with stunning scenery. Just got a Hero 8 Black a few days ago and really like it so far. You got some great shots with the Hero 8.
I did have altitude sickness at 15,000ft so I had to take medication. Little bit of upset stomach but was be able to climb to the top. Thank you for watching and your kind comments :) Happy trails 👣
What a stunning opening, hiking in the snow, with the sun rising, amazing views. A very comprehensive account of your incredible journey and I envy you doing this. I am pleased you crossed you fingers at Kibo Hut, as the snow and ice made it look stunning, although, I bet it was tough climbing at the end. Fabulous watch and what an achievement! Cheers Alan
Hi, Alan. Yes, indeed it was the toughest one I ever did! The snowstorm brought inches of snow that wasn't there the night before. I went up two steps and slipped down one step... I even lost my conciousness once. Though times 10...
Wow this looks incredible. We climbed mount Fjui and that was enough for me! ❤ New subscriber here from the UK. Stay safe and keep uploding. Looking forward to supporting your channel.
Hi, I want to climb the Kili in September. I am not able to decide between Machame or Marangu. I would like to to Marangu bu I am a little scared because there are no acclimatization days. I went to Everest Base Camp last year and I had no altitude problems. What do you sugest me? Marangu is so hard? Thank you
During Marangu hike, there is one extra day (day 3) at Horombo hut to adjust to the altitude. If you had no problem at EBC, you should be fine. Actually, I am going there to do 18 days 3 passes this October :)
The name of the company was ' Jay Adventure ' Reasonable price and their tour guides were very professional. I highly recommend it. I hope you have a safe and great experience 😀
@@jinsjewelry Thanks. Loved your video. I'm going in the beginning of Sept on the Marangu route so it was great to see what to expect. Hopefully no snow at the top😀. Happy Trails to you.
Your video is fantastic Jina! Do you mind if I ask you which climbing company you used in Tanzania or if you can recommend one? We plan on going in November this year and hope we'll have the same weather as you experienced. Thank you!
We used the travel company that based in Moshi " Jay Adventure " I highly recommend this travel company because their guides were professional. Without them I wouldn't have make it to Uhuru peak. Plus the restaurant that they have is one of the best and cleanest. I hope you have a incredible experience at Kilimanjaro. Happy trails 👣 😊
Great video. Thanks for sharing your experience, Jina! Question: what time of the winter was your travel? I'm planning a similar one and I would love to have that amount of snow in the top!
Hi, Leo👋 It was November 2019. The guides were saying except for April and May, it's good to climb. I totally agree with you about the snow on top. Most of the time, you will see no snow on Uhuru peak but we got lucky :) I wish you have a great and safe trip there! 😊
