    Decker was instate Ohio kid who went to osu and became an all American. Also, a national champion and a top 16 pick… now, he he has been with one franchise for his career and is a Detroit legend… I really hope he gets a superbowl ring

    'He's perfect for this offense.'
    Yeah, because Shanahan and McDaniel design and call offenses that are best for their players. If they had Vick, or Lamar, or Brady, or Rodgers they'd tweak the design and these players would also be 'perfect for this offense.'
    The goal is to have a QB who is good enough because that's hard to find and from there these teams are designing around them. There's nothing wrong with that, it's winning football. But the 'he's perfect for this offense' take gets it entirely backwards.

      Exactly. Any good offensive mind designs their offense around the strengths of their QB. McDaniel is no different with Tua.

    The thing that gets me about Sam’s whole they werent 100% in talk is. He is right we have seen people we really believe to be generational, most recently TLaw, show up and under whelm by alot. So why would you pay anyone without seeing it on the field? I dont see it as a lack of confidence just good buisness

      Sam talks about the Packers not exercising the 5th year option (which would have been an fully guaranteed 1 year 21 Millionen deal) but instead sign him to an 1 year 13 Millionen contract with 9 Millionen incentives.
      Thats very very rare.
      Either teams exercise the 5th year option or the player doesnt get an new deal during that offseason.

    My thing is the Dolphins played this like they were scared. There was no reason not to wait and see if he was the guy, make him play out the season and then pay him. Bc if he’s the guy doesn’t matter if you pay him 54 mil instead of 52 mil. If this was a poker table, Tua bluffed one time and they folded. And Tuas done nothing to make you scared he has a hand. They just want him to be the guy

    The problem for Miami was injuries. Not just the edge rushers. All the skill position players were hurt at the end of the year and so was the entire interior of the offensive line. You can't blame Tua because Waddell and Mostert were hobbling around the field. and Hill was playing on one leg. Everyone is very quick to blame Tua, but it's clear that a large part of the drop off was the various injuries they suffered.

  • @exprezzion

    yes, McDaniel system, weapons, and Tua all necessary, and the success level will fluctuate with health of them and quality/health of line-play. Tua fits that system beautifully and not all higher regarded QBs do. Why discount Tua because he wouldn't fit in a Norv Turner offense?

      and it still might not "be built to travel" or win in the cold or beat the best teams unless/until they can balance a run game and ball control to win the clock game that wins close games now when every deep playoff team has an explosive 45 second offense. Dolphins need the 4min offense and occasional 10 minute drive mixed in, and that's not the way it works. It can win but it will never be the safe bet to cruise and crush like the '72 team. But then again, nobody else ever has. ;-)

      The question with QBs in general and young QBs getting their first big deal in particular is how much the guy is an product of the Situation around him.
      Qbs on their rookie deal which succed are usually in an good to great overall Situation, because teams take advantage of the very cheap rookie QB salarys/cap hit in comparison to the veteran star QBs.
      After the QB signs the big deals teams usually have to take away quality on the roster in order to be under the cap.
      And thats where the current Dolphins Roster comes into play.
      Their passing game runs for an huge part through 2 of the fastest, best and most expensive WRs (Hill, Waddle). Hill wont be there much longer (already talked about retirement) and they also have other expensive guys on the roster.
      They cant afford their current roster much longer and i doubt that Tua is able to elevate an lesser roster enough for them to sustain their current level of succes.

  • @scifi2688
    @scifi2688 Месяц назад

    Dak is a poor man's Danny White of this era. At least Danny took the Cowboys to 3 conference finals games. Time to go retro and give a baseline contract loaded with incentives. Meet or exceed those goals and Dak can earn the $50-60 million he wants and deserves.
    Sanders and Arch should be in the Cowboys cross hairs for the next 2 drafts . Time to tank early and often. Draft position is important and moving up for a QB will be cheaper..
    Dak wanted to get paid at least 2-3 times and wanted his contracts to be short to make those scenarios come true before he turns 30. Don't blame players going for max amounts since their NFL careers are rather short.

    #1 defense is better this year
    #2 this women are ignorant and biased , no surprise
    Tua had the 31 rank healthiest o line
    His production walapped the field when he had 5 starters on o line on the field
    He played on average with 2 starters on online (ZERO STARTERS ON O LINE AGAINST PHILLY BY THE TIME THE GAME ENDED)
    by comparison Josh Allen had all 5 starters for the ENTIRETY OF THE SEASON) still couldn't touch tuas passing production.....
    What are tuas numbers if he has a starting o line for 17 games? He was already leading passer.. I'll tell you , he over laps the field
    How many wins does tua have with 5 starters for 17 games?! All add What if Phillip and chubbs don't fall with freak injuries Lol I'll let you ponder.
    I hope this helps .

    The issue with Tua is that, does he give you the best chance to win in the PO, not against Mahomes, but if he face off an Allen, a Burrow or a Lamar, can he and will he execute well enough in the PO.

    • @glennwiech5083
      @glennwiech5083 Месяц назад

      I think he can beat any of them if Miami stays relatively healthy. If he's playing behind practice squad level guards and a backup center like last year, it's highly unlikely.

      @@glennwiech5083But his huge contract massively limits what they can do in terms of roster building.
      In my eyes hes not as good Allen, Burrow, Mahomes, Lamar as an player so he needs more help but has an contract which is even bigger than all of them.
      I dont see the high end in him unlike Love to outduel one of the guys i mentioned in 1 game which similar rosters.

    • @glennwiech5083
      @glennwiech5083 Месяц назад

      A lot of people think Lamar is so great, but to me he's a great athlete who happens to play QB in a rather pedestrian fashion. MVP or no MVP, we've seen how well he plays in the playoffs with excellent supporting casts.
      There are better QBs right now like Allen and Mahomes, but Tua can reach another level. He just needs more experience, more reps, and a healthier roster come playoff time. Only then will you see the best of Tua.
      You may not see high end in Tua, but he does a lot of things very very well. The big limitation for Miami last year was injuries and the level of play they got from their roster depth. They've addressed that with Wright, OBJ, and Jonnu Smith. Miami is in win now mode. They just need to be relatively healthy come playoff time.

    • @adrianbuck8772
      @adrianbuck8772 Месяц назад

      @@glennwiech5083 Lamar for his career passing is 125 TDs to 45 int with an 98 passer rating + the rushing threat.
      What about that is pedestrian?
      Yes his Playoff performances havent been good but i dont think that his supporting casts have been excellent in terms of WR quality at all. Still you should but Mahomes above him and Allen is probably above him, but hes easily an top 10 and probably an top 5 QB currently.
      I dont see Tua getting to an elite level due to his lack of high end phisicall ability (size, mobility, arm strenght).
      Next year Miami can make an run if Tua can play well in the cold. After that they have to make some changes on the roster (already 44 Millionen over the cap for 2025).

    • @Jasoncj099
      @Jasoncj099 Месяц назад

      @@glennwiech5083 I agree but the difference between Tua and Lamar is that Tua isn't really showing up in big games. If you ask me over the past 2 years, give me 2 games that Miami played against a great opponents where Tua played really well, it's really hard to find.

    To me the jordan love contract is far more egregious as we've only seen about 10 games worth of good production from him. Tua at least had 2 years of good production, so it's a bit more understandable.

      That’s the wrong way to look at these contracts. The packers are paying him for what they expect him to do in the future, not the past.
