Do you know if I can connect my NX1P2 to simulink over ethernet port? I want to have a real time system. simulink will calculate the numbers and give an input to NX1P2 and NX1P2 will execute the input from simulink to servo motor.
Ethernet/IP is many things but by motion control standards it is not a real-time protocol. This should be possible with Simulink PLC Coder, which would generate IEC 61131-3 Structured Text that can be deployed onto the NX1 controller. Alternatively, you could control the servo motor/drive directly over EtherCAT using NI SoftMotion. Good luck!
I have also been using Oriental Motor drives with the Omron controllers. I believe it works really different and you have to import a XML (ESI) file and add it as a node. Have you been able to get it to work?
