I almost cried when you cut off those strings but I guess is good for the plant. I started some from cuttings last December and they took over very well, I hope I will have time to make a video of them next weekend. Thank you for sharing this video. I think you should keep the old pot/ plant after this trimming just to see what is happens.
LOL! at nearly crying and I know what you mean it was hard for me to cut the plant as I love the length but it was looking so thin :-) I have kept a few more pots of the pearls potted up to be on the safe side too :-) so happy that your cuttings have done so well and I would LOVE to see an update video on them :-) thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching Corina and sending you and Ela an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland to Canada for a fantastic day XXXXX

This is exactly the vide I’ve been searching for! My string of pearls is 3 years old and just became dull, shriveled, and sparse at the top. I followed your instructions and hope to salvage the plant, it’s one of my favs. Do you recommend worm castings? I’ve never used them but other videos recommend them for this plant. Thank you!! 🌱
So happy that this video has helped you with your String of pearls, they do grow straggly after a while and its best to re start them again :-D I have never used worm castings myself but I have heard of growers who do and are happy with the result :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Ireland for a fantastic Wednesday ahead XXXX

Will these survive here in the heat and humidity of the southern USA...we live in costal SC 1 mile from the ocean. We do have some shade and some sun ...they seem to do better in shade. U sound like u are in the UK ...they are beautiful!
Hi Catherine :-D Thanks so much, yes these plants will grow well in part sun and part shade, they prefer to be kept away from all day direct sunshine if possible, and a position that gets a few hours of sunshine and some shade is best for them, the heat and the humidity is not a problem for them if they can get plenty of ventilation, and if they are outdoors this will be perfect for them for the ventilation, good luck with growing your String of pearls and thank you so much for your wonderful comment and for watching XXXXX
Hi Victoria, I will plan on making a watering String of pearls video in the very near future, thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful Saturday XXXX
Hi Victoria :-D Here is the video I have made on How I water the string of Pearls plant :ruclips.net/video/zTUYGieVg4E/видео.html have a wonderful day today and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER XXXXX
very lovely strkng of pearls! did you buy it that big, or did you start off with a small plant, because where i live they only sell very small cacti and succulents, and the larger specimens are extremely overpriced. i have another question, my small baby cacti have made it through dormancy with no water at all and look a little shriveled, should i start watering them? THANKS! KEEP UP THE GOOD VIDEOS@
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment :-) when I bought this plant it was half the size it was and it had grown so long over the last two years :-) here is a link to a video I made on how to know when to water your Cacti and succulents that may help :-) ruclips.net/video/qXHQR9RWJIQ/видео.html thanks so much for watching and sending you an abundance of love and heaps of happiness from right across the Emerald Isle and have a brilliant day XXXX
Hi! =) The string of pearls plant I recently purchased is showing signs of scale and it worries me. It's not too severe, but I've isolated it from my other plants, and am treating it with isopropyl alcohol and picking off and discarding the "peas" that have larger scale. But my question is: Have you ever used diatomaceous earth? Would it work on scale and other insects like mites and mealybugs? I don't want to stress my plant out by using too much rubbing alcohol on it.
Hi there, its best to cut off any healthy green parts that are left and lay them over the top of the soil, keep the soil lightly moist to encourage rooting, you can cover the cuttings loosely with a clear bag to help faster rooting, keep them warm and in a bright position but away from direct sunshine, good luck saving your plant and Happy New Year XXXX
Thanks so much Suzie for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland for a fantastic day XXXXX
screaming inside everytime you cut that strings of pearl 😂😂😂😂😂😂😭 its like its already so long and its just aaakhhh 😂😂😂😂 anyway u gonna get more and more strings thats the happy part .... Hi there :-) the good news is your cutting should root now its Spring but keep your plant in a bright well lit warm spot but away from strong sunshine until it has rooted :-) your plant may look a bit 'sad' until it has rooted LOL! but I would recommend keeping the soil in the pot lightly damp to help to encourage 'rooting' and if you were able to provide any bottom heat also this would help to speed up rooting but this is not essential :-) thanks so much for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and happy growing from Ireland and have a fantastic Wednesday XXXX
