not sure how , they didn't show anything up close, and used generic descriptions like "make sure "x" is facing "down"" ... which down ? down if it's on the bike /bags and their sitting upright or down now since you have it sitting on table upside down??? see how it would be confusing? especially since I don't even really know what the point of this all is. honestly this deal looks like a cheap flimsy version of what came on my bike from the factory
Quick story to share. I had to perform this on my 14 Street Glide Special. I had to replace both that hard bag and lid after my bag fell off on the highway and scraped it up pretty good. Heck i still have it in the garage someplace. Anyhow - I agree with Steve this is very easy to do. I was fortunate as all of the hardware was salvageable with the exception of the reflector and the reflector holder that got ground down as is slid down the highway after it fell of the bike.
I digressed but I replaced those twist pins that the 14 had with HD # 90201540 that screws that bag into place and look much nicer.

Think my lids are older, they don't have 4 tabs but 2 raised fiberglass spots the cloth gets screwed to
is there a product like this out there that will work for 01 electra glide?
I know this is an old video, But, a crazy question for you, Can you convert a set of the old type saddlebag lids and hinges to this on touch system?
My bike is a 2008 Electra Glide Classic with the old style latches on them, curious as to if it's cheaper to just change out saddlebags and mounting bracket or trying this newer one touch latch system.
need help putting latch back together after removing all the hardware to repaint. cant figure out where the sping goes to keep latch closed and make handle return to position
Hoping you can help me. Great video by the way very informative. My question is what to do when the lids don't lineup with the bags? I've tried everything and can't get them to close properly like the mounting hardware is bent or something. Top of the bag won't line up with the rubber seals. Can't notice anything obvious other than the poor fit. Any advice or experience with this? Greatly appreciated.
I’ve got the same problem with one bag not a big deal but I have to push on the back to get the lid to close all the way it will pop in place
So this is for 2014 and newer ones you can’t use this kit on the older style bags from 2013 and down to put one touch in them correct
no there is no kit on the market that converts 13 down lids to 14 up....the one touch hardware is only for 14 up

I just ordered a kit and everything for mine and got the other latch kit from somebody else I need all the screws and the two rubber garments can you sell me those also in mine on some kids I see where there's this long plastic bracket which the other bracket goes across the inside the lid there is another long black looking plastic bracket

why can this kit be used on a 2000 ultra classic...all the kits I see start at 2014...whats the difference...is it something you can make work with a little modification ? ?
the latch system was redesigned in 2014. The reason you re seeing 2014 and up is because that's all they will fit. The hardware is no where near the same and no modification can make it work. The bags arent even the same size. You can do a 2014 up on a 2013 and older however you need to do the bags, lids and hardware. You cannot simply swap hardware between those two designs.
But if your using your oem lids on advand black saddlebags just the latches need to be put on the bags right?
yes, remove the lid via the 4 screws in the latch. two in the tether/latch and two under the tether/latch. This video is for anyone switching to the 14 up from the 13 down lids and bags
How will this system work with the added weight of a 6x9 diamond speaker added to the lid ? Seems to be what my issue is with the stock Harley hinged lid not being able to handle the added weight.
all of these one touch hardware kits are the same as harleys....they will handle the weight.
Bags don't come with the hardware?
the hardware is in the lid....why would bags come with hardware? The only thing that touches your bag is 4 screws that go into it from the lid hardware.
Can these be keyed to my match my ignition key so I don’t have 2 additional keys?
Take the lock to a good locksmith and have it rekeyed to your ignition switch. I just did the same.
So does this work if you have a 6x9 speaker installed in the lid?

yes...its all the same hardware from 6x9, dual 6x9, 8" lkids..its all the same hardware
I have stretch bags on my 99' RK, will I have to buy new lids or can I use the same lids on the bags now?
Hey Chris..what are you end goals? I ned to know what youre doing before i can answer that...what year stretch bags do you have and what year lids are you wanting to get? the years go 86 to 13 and 14 to newer...please let me know.
@@sikbaggers newer bags and lids ..and I wanted those latch handles for easy access. I did find the insert for the lids on google. The only thing I see different on the lids, is there's no hole for the handle but easily rectified lol...your videos are awesome and informative and appreciated....thx man....
Can you buy just a bolt/screw kit for this application?
you can buy the one touch hardware but its the hinges and everything ...I dont think anyone offers just the bolts and screws

installing the hardware part is the same...youll have the dual 6x9 speaker tray to add in as well..but the hardware is the same
I have a 97 both front and back back attach points look adjustable can these bags be mounted on a 97
If I just had my bags painted and the pulled the weatherstripping off can I reattach it with silicon or what would be your suggestion?

no...the one touch hardware is only for the 14 up...there are no conversion kits...you would need to change your bags and lids to have this hardware.
Hey Steve, just received my one tough latch hardware, didn't receive the reinforcing plates or the metal tether strips but I digress...There is a small bag with black screws (labeled D) in your graph. Can you tell me what those are for? I can't seem to find where they mount! Thanks and love the videos!
The screws labled D are for the holes that hold the entire assembly int the lid along the edge. Click this 6:55
SIK baggers: Thanks for the video.. Is there a kit for converting the bags on my 09 street glide to this new latch system? Also was looking for a way to make them lock with a fob or button on dash panel.
not that I am aware of..the bags and lids from the 09 to 13 and the 14 to newer models are completely different.
Do you use threadlock on the Screws?

Hey jack I dont know what year lids you have but this hardware will only work on 2014 and newer lids. You cannot use it on 13 and older.

not sure what you mean? drill holes for what?
@@sikbaggers I have redfox baggers rear end kit and there are no pre drilled holes on bags or lids and there aren’t in videos out there to help. Also my locks that came with kit from you guys just fall off when I screw them on from the inside. The hinge holes have threads but the holes in actual lock does not. I have to screw them on from outside to get them to stay in place.
@@adamhenderson8768 Im not sure about your bags ...that's on redfox baggers...Our lids are pre drilled for the hardware and hinges. I would call redfox and ask them

No...this is one-touch hardware for 14 up lids. there is no kit that converts old lids into new ones. You can upgrade to 14 lids with the one-touch hardware but you have to do the bags too. The bags, lids, and hardware all have to be upgraded.
@@sikbaggers aaaaaah! So there’s no lid kit that allows me to open my 2013 lids like a 2014 lid. I hate having to get off my bike and open and close my lid to put stuff in. My buddy has a 2015 and he can open and close his kids without having to deal with stopping and getting off the bike
@@beepbopboop1303 No, the hardware is completely different, the lids are slightly bigger and mounting holes are not the same on inside of your lid or the bags. There is no kit on the market that converts this to 2014 up one touch latch system. you will need to buy the bags, lids and hardware and then do the conversion I showed in this video to get them to fit your bike. ruclips.net/video/LcNaO-r0Kkc/видео.html

you can convert your bags to a 14 up and use 14 up bags, l;ids and this hardware however there isnt anything that converts 13 down to 14 up lids that I am aware of.
Installed my bags assembled by advanblack straight out the box. Right bag lid binds when closing latch and the rear outter corner lifts leaving a gap between the bad and lid on that corner. Any way to adjust this?
best way to adjust this is to remove the 2 outer screws on the tether to expose the 2 inner screws on the hinge...loosen those just slightly to where the lid moves a little...close the lid and lock it completely down to seat it. carefully open the lid and crank the 2 inner screws back down..that will set the latch..before you put the tether back on try to close it and see if it lined up. if it did...add your tether back on. the inside of the latch system is not grabbing the strike bracket correctly. Its like a hook system. The latch system moves forward when you press the handle down and that hooks into the strike brackets. It sounds like the inner latch is not grabbing the strike bracket but rather going over it forcing the lid to pry open. By setting the hinge correctly this should now hook it rather than go over the top of it. 99% of the time just adjusting the hinge will fix this. Its a small hole and small screw but there is some play in it that hinge. Please let me know how it turns out and we can go from there to make sure we get you lined out.

Hey Buck...these are for 14+ bags and lids....13 down bags have very different latching systems. You can however run 14+ bags/lids on 13 down bikes. It comes stock on 14+ bikes. I am showing how to install it in case guys with 13 down bags want to install 14+ bags. You saw me add a hinge, thats a hinge to open and close your lid, you saw me add a lock, that locks your lid, you saw me add a lever and strike brackets, that latches your lid to your bag. This is everything you get in a one touch hardware kit. I showed you how to install it. I am honestly not sure what is NOT self explanatory about this product. Honestly...im baffled.

This is one of the most simplistic videos I've seen in a long time.. this guy did a great job walking us thru the instructions for the lid and bag hardware "that replaces and upgrades" your old bag hardware.. and your question about what it does??? Facilitates you OPENING AND CLOSING your bag lids!!! Steve - well done bro.. just ignore that jackass.

Yes sir. this has to be done at HD. give them your vin and the code under the black plastic on your key and they will make a new tumbler for your bike. Its around 35 bucks last I checked.
@@sikbaggers Harley will sell you the whole new lock. Just take these locks to a locksmith and have rekeyed. I just did this.
