This man didn't need to be 6' tall to be a hero for the ages...& for all humanity. Co-founding Little People of America with Anthony Rossitti was a legacy that outshines even his brilliance as an entertainer. Then & now, he defines the term "Superstar".
these people..like most of their generation knew how to be humble and act with class. We can all take a lesson from these people who knew they were blessed and very lucky to have such success
When I was 10, Billy Barty was at a carnival across the street from my house. He greeted me as if I were a close, personal friend and shook my hand. That's the kind of person he is.
Poor ol' Spike is already feeling the ravages of all those cigarettes...Those quick gasps for breath in mid-sentence; I recognize that all too well from watching my mother suffer... Billy was an amazing comic actor, from the time he was a tyke...
This might be James Melton's last TV appearance, as he passed away the following year, and I can find no later appearances than this one. He was one of the greatest tenors of all time.
Have you ever been able to find “Matthew Labyorteaux.” From Little House on the Prairie’’s episode?! I would really love to see it but haven’t found it!
My dear, dear friend. I miss Billy so much
I always loved Billy Barty. He was born 20 miles from my hometown. A wonderfully talented and nice man.

Kind of strange to see Mickey Rooney standing next to someone shorter than he is.
Billy is a lot taller than his stature.
Don Holland He was a giant in the entertainment industry
Just in case one would wonder, Billy wasn't married at this point. He would be married within two years.
Does anyone remember him on the Saturday Morning TV Show “Dr. Shrinker”?
Thank you for sharing these rare This is Your Life episodes, do you by chance have the one profiling Steve Allen?

Isn't Coach Newmeyer the father of Julie (Catwoman) Newmar?
I think u r right but I have not taken the time to wiki it yet, but I remember seeing a vid on her life and she came from a very athletic family.
Yep, he was. Good ole Wiki lol
Do people think the issue of Barty’s height was treated respectfully, or not? Interested to know, either way.
My mother once remarked that if Mickey Rooney was my age, we would have made a good couple. Mr. Rooney was a bit too old for me, sorry to say.

Wow, Spike looked terrible at 49 years old. Thats what happens when you smoke 5 packs of unfiltered Camels a day for decades.
He's starting to gasp for breath here when he speaks. Painful to watch.
