Aw I saw this cast when they got to Edinburgh. So lucky, and Sam Barks had returned from filming Les Mis by then... one of the very best musical theatre performers I've every seen.
Wow, Sam is a perfect Nancy! Why is she so good at playing tragic, spunky, abused women who die?? It probably has something to do with how effortlessly she wins over an audience. Who wouldn't love her? And yes I agree. They should put this on DVD. Like now.
gonna ruin this for you, the tallest kid at 0:31, is charley bates who apparently is the boy in the blue blazer you see during the consider yourself and pick a pocket or two sections, for example 1:15 if you’re confused about who charley is, in the original oliver twist book, dodger had a friend named charley who was literally the primary source of comedy
I saw Oliver quite a long time ago. I was in middle school at the time and don't remember seeing it. My family was in Virginia and we saw it at the Barter Theatre, but for some reason don't remember. I recently found a journal entry that brought it up. Just last year, ended up seeing the movie and now want to see the stage show again but will have to wait until it tours the US again
I saw this cast in Edinburgh and they were fantastic. Bill was a great actor, so good that at the curtain call he got booed instead of cheered which was the first time id ever seen that happen. Felt bad for the poor guy!
Brilliant, saw it in Birmingham. I hope to play Fagin for the Knutsford Musical Society in January 2013 at the Grange School Theatre in Hartford but how on earth do you follow that? Brian Conley, you were almost as good as Ron Moody and I can't give you a bigger compliment than that! Alan Lowe.
This looks like it was great. Cameron Mackintosh knows how to produce musicals. I'm just not too crazy about his remastering of POTO. But the new versions of Les Mis and Oliver look great.
I would welcome a DVD of the stage version of Oliver! with open arms, of course (and pay quite a lot for it). By the way, if I were to choose, I would prefer a video of the Drury Lane production (2008 - 2011) because I like the sets and the cast (Russ Abbot, Kerry Ellis, Gwion Jones) better. But it´s all a theoretical discussion only because they would have had to film it in the first place and I doubt they did.
but she didn't win the show 'I'd Do Anything' that went out looking for a new Nancy for the stage show in the West End. she came third instead, but was given the role in the tour a little while later. i'm simply referring to the fact that she didn't win the tv show, Jodie Prenger did.
A re-make is an interesting idea, but where would they find anyone as good as Ron Moody to play Fagin? Finding someone as good as Jack Wild to play Dodger is difficult, but possible. Replacing Mark Lester would be comparatively very easy.
Sam steals the show!!!!!! Absolutely AMAZING!!
Samantha Barks started to sing As Long As He Needs Me and I just died crying! Beautiful. Amazing this girl! Love her. :3
They need to release this on DVD! A lot of stage musicals are now on DVD and this one is long-overdue!
And yet still no dvd 😢😢😢😢
Saw this in Edinburgh, it was absolutely AMAZING, I LOVE Samantha Barks as Nancy!!! They should definitely do a DVD, it would be fantastic!!
Samantha Barks 😍
I wished they filmed the entire show like this and released it like the Oklahoma production.
I do like watching filmed live or recorded live performances of shows and musicals at the Cinema, on DVD and Blu-Ray and on TV
I like the filmed performance of the 1998/1999 London production of Oklahoma
Totally agreed be it this or the Rowan Atkinson version!
Or Russ Aboot as well! :D

Sam is singing the as long as he needs me reprise so the lyrics are slightly different
Samantha's definitely better here than when she was on I'd do Anything
Archie Murphy, who plays Dodger, is in my Drama class at my school. he is naturally a funny guy!! LOVE HIM!!!
YES! DVD please!! for all of us who can't see her on stage! :D
saw it today, it was so amazing! Favourite show I've seen yet :)
It makes me so sad knowing I will never see this.

SAMANTHA was AMAZONG! :)))
I was in this and it would mean so much for them to make a DVD!
I do like watching filmed and recorded live performances of shows and musicals at the Cinema, on DVD and Blu-Ray and on TV

Sam sounds fantastic. I wanna see her in this :(
Don't worry Sam's fans it's coming to Brodway with her as Nancy and in 2016 there'll be a remake of the movie hopefully with Sammy too :D
I saw this cast in Edinburgh and they were fantastic. Bill was a great actor, so good that at the curtain call he got booed instead of cheered which was the first time id ever seen that happen. Felt bad for the poor guy!
I’m sure that the actor who played Bill was great, but the character killed another character, they were most likely booing towards the character
When actors who play bad guys get booed, it's usually a compliment. Means they've done their job well.
It's Samantha barks!!!!!!😀
Love this!!!
Had the pleasure of seeing this twice in Birmingham!
Coming to Plymouth as well!
Amazing cast!
Amazing show!
I agree with AngelxEyes1990
Looks so amazing!
I Wish they released the Musical On DVD and Blue Ray :D
I do like watching filmed live or recorded live performances of shows and musicals at the Cinema, on DVD and Blu-Ray and on TV
My little sister is stood next to Oliver at 0:21 left hand side! Great musical - Watched it twice! :D
That looks incredible!
Sam rocks! :)
Alan Lowe.
I'm seeing Oliver in Plymouth in August
Can we see another tour please for 2023 maybe
This looks like it was great. Cameron Mackintosh knows how to produce musicals.
I'm just not too crazy about his remastering of POTO. But the new versions of Les Mis and Oliver look great.
WOW 👍🏼
I think Sam said she might be coming back to Oliver! I hope so!! I think i might go to the UK this summer so hopefully she will around that time!!
Does anyone know where I can watch the full version?? I need to see this!!

Holy jeez... Sam is incredible!!
aw can see myself memories!
I Want sam in this movie... remake time!!!!

Does Sam say "As long as Bill needs me"? Or am I mishearing it?
Instead of "as long as HE needs me", I mean.
***** Oh, Ok. Thank you!
Actually, this is the reprise of As Long as He Needs Me, so it is, in fact, "as long as Bill needs me"
It’s long as he needs me reprise
すご
PLEASE CAN YOU BRING BACK THE MUSICAL WITH Stacey Solomon Bradley Walsh BRIAN BLESSED AND DANNY WALTERS
there's no any place i can see the whole musical?
Can't wait to see Sam as Velma inChicago!

It’s made good to compare others.
In this video? Max Griesbach.
anyone knows who played Dodger?
SAM!!!!!

In this video? Harry Polden.
Is that Martine mc cutcheon as Nancy ?
no, she's Samantha Barks
Cat Simmons :) she's the new Nancy
Wasn't Daniel Huttlestone a Dodger!???
Lydia Wilson. I don't think so. I saw him playing in Oliver at Manchester but his role was Nipper.
xx
...and Oliver could sing his songs himself this time.
19th, 20th & 21st Centuries Police.
0:24 i know who this is ryan orgorman
True, but I do think a re-make is better... AND they better cast sam as nancy
this clearly was modelled after the 1968 movie
film nerd. And the 1968 movie was modeled after 1960 musical theatre version .
Sam tends to die a lot on stage, as Eponine as well. Haha.
She is Nancy...
Samantha barks 3
Sam
Well....looks like it is going to be better than my panto....(I'm playing dodger)
Samantha Barks (L)
