If you skip the social studies and science how do they do on the testing? I’m new K5 we just started and I would like to leave those out also but I was afraid of the testing part. Can you explain what they test for accredited K5? Thank you. We are on week 1. Brand new. Appreciate you.

I'm doing everything Aveka next for 1st grade year but Science and history as well. My Science is Focus on Science, I'm so excited about this program. History I'm doing My Story 1 .

Hello, i m just curious as to why you go at an accelerated pace. Just wondering what your goals are. Whatever the reason, it sounds like it is working for y'all. When you complete your curriculum in half a years time, will you begin the next level?
Great question! I wanted to get us on a year-round schedule where we start in January and are done by November instead of following the traditional school schedule. To get us done by November this year, we took a more accelerated pace (with several week-long breaks) to be able to get us on that schedule for 2024! Hope that makes sense!
So to answer the second part, yes, we will be taking November-December off and then starting the next grade level in January!

I was thinking I may have to do this next year! Especially in older grades. Or just getting larger binders haha 😅

I do not do absolutely everything for K4, because it can get pretty overwhelming pretty fast for the little ones! I tend to stick to the lesson plans for phonics, writing, and numbers, and will occasionally pull a worksheet from one of the other books that the child kit came with for my son to work on for fun, rather than watching another entire video for it. I try to just keep it as fun as possible and stop when he starts getting overwhelmed, but he is a little younger so I’m not as strict about him completing all the work at all! Thank you so much!!
