My husband makes his own sourdough starter. Making bread has become his hobby over the last year. He would totally love and take that part of the box for himself to use. I still have a herringbone bracelet from when I was a kid. Loved it. That was a cute set.
I recently got into a sourdough habit--though, admittedly, from starter that a friend gave me from her stash. And I have a boule of sourdough proofing right now for me to bake once I get home from work! The sourdough pack you got is pretty solid: 1. use the band around the middle (and the other little ruler up the side) to track the level the sourdough starter is at once you feed it so you can gauge how far it grows. 2. the jar topper is breathable so the sourdough starter can get air once it's fed and it gets active. 3. The dough cutter/scraper will be helpful not only to cut portions of dough (if the recipe you're using calls for it) but also for scraping up the dough after shaping it on a floured surface and placing it in its next container. 4. the little blade on the wooden handle you got (technically called a lame') is good to get a clean cut when you score the top of your bread before putting it in the oven so it can have space to expand when it puffs up as it bakes in the oven. Sourdough is EASY--it's just a matter of being a bit mindful of when you last fed it/how you're handling the discard (or, in layman's terms, the sourdough starter after it was fed/got active/and then calmed down...)/TIMING your schedule to handle all of the steps for the sourdough recipe you follow. If you want a suggestion for a great website with a ton of sourdough recipes, there's a great blog--farmhouseonboone.com--that has an easy 'beginner's sourdough' recipe that spells out all of the steps you need to take to make sourdough! The blog Alexandra's Kitchen (or maybe Alexandra Cooks...) has a ton of easy-to-follow sourdough recipes, too! You got this!
Thank you great info re-created the pamphlet inside purposely to open it flat or pin it to the wall so each day you have a reminder of what needs to be done we try to make it super easy, fun and convenient. Of course we all need to give it a name as well, it’s fun to get creative and enjoy the process. Thank you for your positive input.
I don't think that this box is a bad value. This will be my third box and I've been thrilled. I've never felt like I wasn't getting my money's worth. It's curated and of course one pays for that in addition to the items.
Dwellify! They were super great & gave me this (JIC I want to clarify I am not getting paid by them to post this LOL, I just really liked them). Everyone who uses code - PINKENVELOPE - when ordering their Design Box on our website will get $200 off the Dwellify Design Experience (Design Box of material samples, unlimited one-on-one meetings with the Dwellify Design Team, updated layout & 3D renderings, and a refined project estimate), bringing their cost to $99 (normally this is $299) - thepinkenvelope.com/get/Dwellify I did the Design Experience & I give it a HUGE thumbs up! My design box was fab!
I really, really like that you spoke up about the price of the box and the reason it's a good buy. You can't put a price on self care. I'm looking for a subscription box to replace fff so this might be it
Thank you! I think with AliExpress and TEMU, etc we get spoiled by the unbelievably cheap prices and I love doing the fun, cheap shopping hauls BUT when it comes to me and self care products that are a part of my lifestyle....I want small business made and luxury. I think you will really like this one. I use that bag from my last box nearly every day!
We love and appreciate that too! When it comes to toxic chemicals that we are surrounded with in this world from our food to skin care, it’s nice to know that you can feel good about receiving high quality non toxic chemical free products. It’s so important. Thanks for recognizing that Samantha! And thank you for your comment Amy! Xoxo 🍃
I’m a sourdough baker- you got great advice from the commenter above! Sourdough is not hard!!! You just have to figure out its schedule and work around it. I baked 2 dozen sourdough bagels today!! If you are gluten sensitive (my husband is) you may be able to eat sourdough fine. However, if you have Celiac’s, you’ll have to make GF starter & feed with a good GF flour. My hubby is thrilled to eat bagels again!! Good luck with your sourdough journey!! I’m addicted!!
There are so many overwhelming instructions out there. We get it. We simplified it and made a very simple step by step instructions. It’s overwhelming when it’s not simple. But when you accomplish it, it’s SOOO REWARDING! You can do it!! Don’t give up. You got this. -Tanya
We made sourdough starter for a Girl Scout pioneer weekend. I just left some water and sugar and flour in a bowl until it caught wild yeast from the air. It only took a week or so it worked beautifully and we created some great loaves of bread.
After the yeast was going in the sourdough starter, we basically just got some flour and water and eggs and salt and put it all in a bowl and it rose and then we baked it on grill over the coals of a campfire. It’s really much simpler than that kit makes it look.
GF sourdough is totally doable but it takes commitment. Honestly, it was some of the best bread I had had in years. It takes some work and the right equipment to get a nice crust.
@thepinkenvelope WOW! Such beautiful representation of our fall 🍂 luxury box. It’s quite amazing you weren’t missing anything and all the items still were beautifully packaged. I’m impressed with USPS. I am so excited for you to try the sourdough starter with your girls. What a fun bonding experience! We purposely created the instruction manual to be super simple, easy to follow just stick to the wall and see what to do each day and add a little fun to it. We’re excited to hear how it turns out! You CAN DO IT! 🙌 And the earrings look stunning on you!! We get so many compliments on this set! Mine have been through the ocean/pool shower, sweaty workouts and a spray tan. Still looks amazing! Thank you again! Xoxo Tanya & Brooke. 🍃
I can't wait to start baking with the girls! Such a great idea. My youngest loves to cook so she is extra excited! And the waterproof jewelry gives yall 5394776479 bonus points! Way to go with that addition!

We had a house fire on July 4th and our entire house is going to be gutted and rebuilt. The positive thing is that we will be able to design everything brand new. We are looking into kitchen options for sure! Did you redesign your kitchen (layout, etc) or are you just replacing your cabinets, etc?
Beautifully curated box. Very giftable.
Googled and you can make gluten-free starter!!
I can't get over this box - OMG how amazing!! And yeah totally over FFF - this is SOOOO much better!!!
It's so good!
Thank you! 🫶🏻

I think I need this! Self-care is important and I love investing in a good curation of products.
Yes! I think the price is very fair and at only 4 times a year, you don't get overwhelmed, you can really enjoy the items.
Very nice box. Thos box fots the woman I hoped to grow up to be... life had alternative plans.
I’m definitely going to check out this box. I like the most of the products in the box are more eco friendly and not as much plastic.
Yes, you can see more on this on their beautiful website. Less waste and more small business are a big part of what they promote and strive for.
My 2020 sourdough starter was a total train wreck 😂 the kit makes it look so much more doable
