መስቀል በኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ቤተክርስቲያን የሚከበረ ታላቅ በዓል ነው። በ4ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን የመስቀል እውነተኛ ክፍል እንደተገኘ ታምራዊ ታሪክን የሚያስታውሰው በዓል ነው። በታላቅ የእሳት ዕንጨት (ደመራ) የሚሆን ስንቅ ማንሳት ታላቅ ድምር እና መንክሮች እንዲሁም መዝሙርና ባህላዊ ድምር ተላብሶ ይከበራል። መስቀል በባለፈው የዝናብ ወቅት መጨረሻን የሚያመለክትና እርማትና ተስፋን የሚያንስራር በዓል ነው።
