Well that's because people were ignorant about how to take care of their hair so now that we actually know how to do it why even choose to perm you hair ? All it does is damage 🤷🏾♀️
I'm getting my hair relaxed today .. I've been natural over 5 years but this is the decision I've made for myself not anybody else .. I'm happy for you ..
I'm sick of people making it like it's bad to have narural or relaxed hair. It's just hair. She's a grown woman and she can do whatever she want. I have natural hair and I love my hair, but I will relax my hair if I feel like it. I'm so sick of seeing team natural and team relaxed 🙄Stop dividing black women. We all the same natural or relaxed, Brown or light skin. We need to stop attacking each other for doing what we want. Let's just mind our business in 2019💅
It's not "just hair". Relaxer means something a bit deeper than to just to loosen texure. It was the only way for black people in America to be accepted by a white society for a very long time. When someone wears a "Make America Great Again" hat it's not "just a hat". It stands for hatred, sexism, and racism. Do not dare compare skin tone to hair. You chose to put relaxer in your hair, but you do not choose your skin tone. Be blessed and stay educated!
@@ladyamethystasmrladyamethy8406 That's ABVIOUSLY not what having a relaxer means today, but that's history no matter if that's what you want to hear or not. By the use of your language choice you clearly need to open a book or re-read my comment. "If we do not educate ourselves on history, we are doomed to repeat it". Please educate yourself! Stay blessed.
Sherwin Eliscar I mean it’s kind of for good reason. Our hair is different and takes longer to grow back and become healthy without lots of maintenance.
Yea no, it’s not just hair. It’s your crown that you should take care of. I ain’t gone tell nobody what to do with their hair but it’s not “just hair”.
Kiana Johnson exactly, like how we’ve been discriminated against and how we had to fight to be able to even wear our natural hair. I wish someone would just say it’s just hair.
Lawd help'em. You cannot ask the innanets what they think if you got thin skin 'cause they will tell you with force & fire lol. With that being said, opinions don't have to be disgusting trash words either; damn heathens😀😁😃
Which was a mistake. People obviously don’t know how to respect this Young woman’s choices for her hair. I know what the thumbnail said, but the hatful comments are totally unnecessary.
demekonrn 😕I wish I could believe that last sentence you said. Apparently some people think it’s okay to diss someone just because they’re not their expectations.
Anunde Reese I don’t disagree with her perming her hair . I just don’t get why she would do that and then attempt to put it into a puff afterwards. But anyways , Sooner or later she won’t be able to put it into any puff with the continuous perming . 😬
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but the negative comments need to stop. If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. Thanks for uploading and I look forward to new videos.
Not really not everybody hair is weak or thin or breaks when reaxled just take care of it as much as u guys have to take care of natural hair
5 лет назад+40
alexis 1468 She didn’t say everybody’s relaxed hair is weak she said her hair looks no different from being natural but it’s now weakened by the relaxer.
Only if you don't take care of it you can't perm your hair and not maintain it and you gotta know how long to leave the perm in your hair stop jumping to conclusions cause obviously you don't have a clue💯.
I’m natural, but you were in my recommendations. If you want to relax, do it! The hair is on your head and no one else’s... it’s your journey and your hair to style as you please. Best of luck, whether you’re naturally or relaxed sis 💜
Sis has 4 c hair so year a stronger perm would make it Bone straight or she can use a flat iron on a low setting. Some of y'all are just mean, and the puff is cute.
This young lady tried to relax her hair. ALL have done something that didn't turn out as well as we expected. People should exercise more positivity. Her hair will grow out and be just fine. I pray that it grows out beautifully and that she is blessed with healthy hair.
I got a perm burn simply watching her comb the same spots repeatedly. My scalp would have been on fire if I did that. But then again, my scalp is ultra sensitive.
@@4079907 worry about yourself. women can do whatever they want to their hair and you can’t do anything about it 😘 they can wear makeup if they want to because they don’t do it to please anyone, they can get boob jobs if they want to because they once again don’t do it to please people and they can play in their hair if they want because again, they don’t do it to please people :). if you want a woman who fits the image you want, go for it but don’t bash other women for not keening to your expectations. you sound like a controlling woman beater 🤮
I’m natural and never going to put chemicals in my hair, but I do get tired. So guess what.....I braid my hair lol. You would have look good with box braids
Yes natural hair can be a lots of work sometimes, but who says relaxed hair can’t be healthy especially if it’s done in the right way and maintain as well. We have to do whatever that makes us happy, enjoy your sleekly fresh hair beautiful ❤️
Theres nothing healthy about putting acid on your head and scalp I dont care how you sugar coat it even a silk press is better than a chemical burn. We gotta get out of this delusion that because its straight and looks shiny after slapping a few products on it its healthy.. 🙄 permed hair without product looks a hot damaged mess that's when you can truly see the damage it causes to your hair strands.
I think just the fact that it's straight for her is good enough. It is more manageable for her. Im sure that she will get it into a sassier style for her taste. Maybe, she was just lounging around that day. Being rude is not necessary. We can be tactful.
While some of you bashing her in the comment about straightening her hair, stop investing in lace fronts right🙄🙄🙄 you look amazing hun and do what works for you. At the end of the day it's your hair. 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤
Everyone that's saying people are BASHING her, um NO. People are just trying to help her avoid what we were worried about, she JUST uploaded a video saying that ALL of her hair broke off so if it's considered bashing to help a sista avoid heartache well....
@@Kiarasartt Well baby SOMEBODY needed to help her.... She was the one upset, saying that her hair was breaking off. But you're right.... She didn't need help....
I see alot of ppl saying use gloves to protect your hands (relaxers damage the skin, it is acid...) But go ahead and slather it all over your head and skull... I don't understand protecting your hands but allowing you skull and brains to get fried. 😂🤣😂🤣 However, I digress... Do whatever makes you happy. Lmao
DesignerDiamond Kisses I don’t get perms anymore but you’re not supposed to get it on your scalp. Even though you almost always do because you have to get it so close that it’s hard to not let it touch the scalp
@@shantellee3308 I do agree. Your not supposed to put it on the scalp, however I've been a licensed stylist for 21 years and I'm positive that it will touch our skin. I spent many years at my craft and have owned 2 salons. After seeing what a relaxer did to a 7year old's head I knew I could not continue doing it to ppl. I became an all natural hair stylist. Although I believe in all hair types and styles and textures I had to look in the mirror at the end of the day. Everyone DOES deserve to feel amazing weather relaxed or natural but every now and then I like to throw in bits of humor and education. That's just me. 💕
Don't relax but that's literally not how the body works. By putting relaxer on your hair it CANNOT get to your skull or brain. :/ Your hands need protecting because your skin is thinner and is in direct contact with the relaxer, your skull and brains are not. What. But I get the hypocrisy comment, if you're going to add it to your hair why not to your hands? It's true, but just because they're built the same way doesn't mean they're going to react the same way. Relaxers are safe (in the regulatory sense) for hair (not scalp, not skin) only hair.
Girl you applying it like it's a shampoo or conditioner.... 😣 It was hard to watch.... but whatever makes you happy. As a 4c girl it takes a lot of patience and care.
i personally love my hair relaxed it’s just easier for me to style and maintain. I’ve tried the natural look, it’s just not for me and i don’t like how it makes me look. Do what you want with YOUR hair! ❤️
This was definitely a fail. There's nothing worse than a bad relaxer. U should've put your natural hair in a puff, gathered your coins and gotten a professional perm, cut and fingerwaves or pin curls.
J L you should probably focus on YOUR own life because you’ve been all over this comment section trying to defend this woman whose honestly just destroying her hair
I’m no professional but I’m going to try to give u some tips 1. You are NOT supposed to comb through a relaxer 2. Your supposed to wear gloves to protect your hands from the harsh chemicals 3. Always put Vaseline around your head before relaxing it 4. Do your research BEFORE relaxing your hair . I hope you learnt from this . I’m sorry your hair turned out a mess but I hope you can learn how to manage it 💙
Thanks for the video, because I was having self-doubt about relaxing my natural hair considering the fact that it is short. Now I'm so ready to relax my hair because I've lived & now know it's very little you can do with short natural hair as oppose to short relaxed hair. And you showed a created style with short hair. So thanks again, bc I'm tired of this fro
I use dark &lovely Relax for years, the breakage was just too much for me then i said no, thank God I found something better that makes my hair softer!!! It might work for you
Interesting, just note relax hair is just as much work as natural hair if not more work because you gotta keep relaxed hair properly taken care of to avoid breakage
With short hair like that what's the point? Why not just get a nice weave in? Some braids done? A wig or crochet and let your hair at the very least reach collarbone length if you're just going to relax it. I knew it would turn out awful when I saw the length of hair in the thumbnail.
This comment section is horrible. If you think she’s doing it wrong recognise that this is her first time and educate her by giving her advice not tear her down for her mistake.
Im so glad in 2018 going on 2019 more men and women are giving up the texturizers and perms its not the hair being straight I have a problem with its the chemical bath your putting on my scalp that scares me..I use to scurl my head back in the day so I know how it feels.. it burns because your literally putting acid on your skin. Smh
Actually this is one of the more nicer comments. She just saying I don’t like the chemicals and disagrees. At least she’s not down right being rude like some others were.
I started relaxing my hair at a really young age, like when i was 5, and did that for about 5 years. Then i got natural for another 5 years and this weekend im getting relaxer in my hair, actually from Dark&Lovely as well. Im 15 and it just doesnt work for me to stay natural. My curls are still ruined and cant gettem back and its like my hair has stopped growing + the shrinkage 😫 so no more hot irons to ruin it even more, im going for relaxer (again!) I live in Denmark so its really un-common to se black or mulatto girls with natural hair (which is sad) so i’ll stick to the relaxer and see where it goes..❤️
LMAO. Girl you didn't even straighten it properly. It still looks natural at the ends. I thought you were going to do some kind of short- cut style after straightening it. Why would you straighten it just to put it in that struggle puff?
The only advice I would give is clip your ends . Also idk about anybody else but after a relaxer I never used that much product in my hair . Just put a little bit of hair lotion & blow dry it with a brush , add a little coconut oil . It would’ve been real cute to do pin curls ! 🤗
You are such a cutie pie and I love your hair...I was natural going on 2 years...but after continuous breakage...no hair products that would work on a steady basis...I went back to a relaxer...great videos!
I cried every time I saw a comb your hair has great integrity my hair would break if I combed it with relaxer on it I like it though it still has a bit of texture it’s cute ☺️
damn yall need to chill hair isn't the only thing that makes her look beautiful, like can we just appreciate the fact that she got a beautiful face n clear skin ❤
Okay, some of these comments are fucked up. I'm natural but I'm not gonna degrade tf out of someone, especially since I'm not paying for her hair or hair products. Yall took shit too far! If you're that concerned, be respectful.
I want to start my RUclips channel but I use to think my hair is too short and no one will watch than I saw this vedio. Thank you girl for motivation .my hair is at shoulder length
Just a suggestion. Try parting your hair in sections next time that way the perm will take easier because it will be evenly dispersed. Loved the video btw! Do what makes YOU happy. At the end of the day none of these natural hair nazis in the comments have to wake up and do your hair everyday, u do. Much love!
I was a part of the natural hair movement until I realized I just can't manage my natural hair (living in China doesn't make it easier), I can source the products online but my hair was still hard to manage especially when it's time for work . I relaxed it and went back to sew in because wigs give me a really black hairline with hair bumps. Using this method for relaxing though would leave me with "1st degree" burns and large bald patches lol but if it works for you...what can I say.
Hey, I love this product. Try conditioning, oiling & combing with foam down instead of up. Wrap it & let it dry. I’ve learned that’s alot of tension by pulling & when it’s done drying, you can style with a flat iron or hot rollers. should look like a nice roller set on short hair
Tried doing natural for four years and fed up because I'm tired of having to braid it all the time and can't put my hair in a ponytail a lot of people say use edge control and gel that does not work for my hair it is extremely coarse and stays matted down so my hair looks short well it is short but not that short so next week I will be getting a LYE perm I had my experience with NO LYE and my hair didn't do good with it I don't care what anyone thinks cause at the end of the day people are always going to have something negative to say it don't even have to be your hair so do you and be happy!
IWC Nicole regardless of what you say. Relaxers still burn scalps. Relaxers can cause all kinds of 2nd and 3rd degree chemical burns. I would know. I’ve had more then enough relaxers before going natural
Em G. Ummmm did I say that relaxers didn’t burn the scalp???? Where did you read that?? My point is if she was concerned about burns to her hands or skin she wouldn’t be using the relaxer in the first place s🤷🏾♀️
Whew my head is burning watching this. Every time I think about going back to a relaxer I think about the scalp burning and sores. But that was for me. I love that you are doing what makes you happy 😘
Girl ! 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ why would you relax the hair then attempt a natural hair style? She could’ve just waited for her natural hair to grow a lil more and she could’ve have a nice natural puff. I’m not against the relaxer at all. It’s her hair. I’m just saying 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Girl u should have braided THAT hair up in a weave r wig a few months FOR more growth even tho i HATE creamie crack THAT lenght is pointless Just my opinion CHILE WASTE
bro lmao creamy crack? i agree, my hair is natural but when i get a Dominican blowout it looks better than a relaxer. more black women need to do this.
Exactly. When I saw that length in the thumbnail is just though what's the point than to just burn your hair away when it barely even reachs your ears yet? A long term protective style would have been bettet
If she can’t keep her hair healthy while it’s natural, there’s no way she’s keep it healthy natural cause it’s so much weaker and has harmful chemicals in it
Thumbnail: What do you think? Me: *after watching video* It just looks like blown out natural hair to me 😭 And is it just me or do you smell it through the phone too? 👀
As a lifelong natural all I can say sis go off! I understand not all 4C hair is manageable and everyone has their own way of coping with it. If this works for you go for it, and I pray that it makes you happy. And to all my fellow naturals, please be accepting of relaxers, not everyone is a pro at doing their hair and not everyone can cope with the hardships that come with it. It’s her hair my guy, mind ya business.
i relax my hair twice a year. natural hair is the struggle to keep neat and its just hard work. natural hair is always moving and changing. the afro is impossible to keep round. dreds pull out the hairline. braids to the scalp give me headaches. black girl hair is the mountain sized everyday challenge. that was a long dissertation. love you ms. dilia. you are amazing.
In my opinion it's only a struggle of you make it one. Just cornrow and go. If you know how to do them correctly or won't pull on your edges. If you can't do them, flat twists or mini twist it. No tension at all. You can leave all of those style in as long as you want if you can't deal with natural hair. If you prefer straight hair then you do you. But making excuses as a reason is unecessary. If you prefer relaxed hair. Just say it.
Am not disrespecting you but I just want you to know that's not the way it is done but it look good the way you do it as well I think am goin to try it your way next time I relax my hair...... It is done by parting and adding the relaxer but it still look pretty good am going to try your way next time I do my hair....❤️❤️
Lemmeh just give a few tips: anybody who wants to buy a cream relaxer make sure and I REPEAT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NOT WET UR HAIR FOR AT LEAST A WEEK OR ELSE IT WILL BURN THE HELL OUTA YOU TRUST ME! Also if you have strong hair like her or me gonna have to do it every 3-4 months. I cut my hair few months ago and now its back to afro and not straight and my mother has relaxed it 2 times now and still afro tbh idk y! But I never asked and make sure you use a small comb with less space in between if you want to get ur hair properly combed then you use a big comb 😊

Let's just mind our business in 2019💅
Thank you
It's not "just hair".
I've had both. My relaxed hair was good and so was my relaxed. My motto "Do you!"
I would have had a professional straightening tho!!
@@ladyamethystasmrladyamethy8406 That's ABVIOUSLY not what having a relaxer means today, but that's history no matter if that's what you want to hear or not. Am sorry Siz, but there's no difference, other than ending up with weak relaxed hair
Not really not everybody hair is weak or thin or breaks when reaxled just take care of it as much as u guys have to take care of natural hair
alexis 1468 She didn’t say everybody’s relaxed hair is weak she said her hair looks no different from being natural but it’s now weakened by the relaxer.
But it's easier for her to manage her hair when it's relaxed
Only if you don't take care of it you can't perm your hair and not maintain it and you gotta know how long to leave the perm in your hair stop jumping to conclusions cause obviously you don't have a clue💯.
Sontia Colvin well her hair fell out so I guess she was technically right🛫
I’m natural, but you were in my recommendations.

Relax hair is work too if u dont want it to break and grow properly....neither is easy
Tray it can be healthy to an extent and just because your natural does not mean your hair is healthy
I think just the fact that it's straight for her is good enough. It is more manageable for her. Im sure that she will get it into a sassier style for her taste. Maybe, she was just lounging around that day. Being rude is not necessary. We can be tactful.

With short hair like that what's the point? Why not just get a nice weave in? Some braids done? A wig or crochet and let your hair at the very least reach collarbone length if you're just going to relax it. I knew it would turn out awful when I saw the length of hair in the thumbnail.

My curls are still ruined and cant gettem back and its like my hair has stopped growing + the shrinkage 😫 so no more hot irons to ruin it even more, im going for relaxer (again!)
I live in Denmark so its really un-common to se black or mulatto girls with natural hair (which is sad) so i’ll stick to the relaxer and see where it goes..❤️

The only advice I would give is clip your ends . Also idk about anybody else but after a relaxer I never used that much product in my hair . Just put a little bit of hair lotion & blow dry it with a brush , add a little coconut oil . It would’ve been real cute to do pin curls ! 🤗

Hey, I love this product. Try conditioning, oiling & combing with foam down instead of up. Wrap it & let it dry. I’ve learned that’s alot of tension by pulling & when it’s done drying, you can style with a flat iron or hot rollers. should look like a nice roller set on short hair
How are you going to style it? Hot curl, flat iron or rest. Or will you just wear it like that?
After watching how you handle your hair I see why it’s so short. You didn’t even attempt to part it and my heart DROPPED when you picked up that comb.
